Linksys Wireless Router :: Advanced Dual-Band N E2500 V1.0 Losing Connection

Jan 18, 2012

I am using the E2500 v1.0 on TWC network (road runner) wit a VISTA upgraded to Windows 7 laptop. After few months the router is starting losing connection. I tried connecting my laptop directly to the twc modem and the connection is fine, while if I connect to the E2500 v1.0, through wired or wireless connections, I see that the connection is going back and forth.I tried resetting the modem and the router, upgrading the wireless router firmware, but nothing worked.

Linksys Wireless Router :: No Connection To 5GHz Band On E3000 Dual Band?

Apr 14, 2010

I have the new XBOX 360 black N wireless adapter and the Linksys E3000 dual band router as I want to upgrade the network range and speed to N. I set up a unique SSID and passphrase (WPA2) for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. My XBOX could connect to the 2.4GHz band network and could connect to XBOX Live. But when I configured all the settings and tried to connect to the 5GHz band network, but no luck. My XBOX just said it failed to connect. I was sure that I did type in the SSID and passphrase correctly. I still cannot figure out what went wrong. I even suspected either the wireless adapter or the router malfunctioned.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Adding E2500 As Second Set-up

Dec 18, 2012

I want to add my E2500 as a second wireless router to cover my entire house.I have a Motorola Surfboard SBG6580 cable modem (Time-Warner) at one end of the house.I added via powerline Ethernet connection a new E2500 wireless router at the other end of the house. The E2500 set-up with all defaults and has the same SSID and Password as the Surfboard cable modem. It seems to work OK, but I wonder about network confusion/interference.Do I have to configure the E2500 in some manner to allow seamless roaming of my wireless devices (iPad, Cell Phones, Netbook)?I had an RE1000 with just the Surfboard, but it did not quite do the trick, and does not like both routers connected at either end.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT400N - Adding Access Point To Existing Network

Oct 26, 2010

I have an existing wireless network using a Cisco/Linksys WRT400N wireless router (which in turn is connected to a cable internet provider). I need to extend my wireless coverage and so purchased a Cisco/Linksys E1000 to act as an additional access point.  Purchased from BB, the local 'geek squad' rep instructed me to follow the users guide for the set up. After login into the admin service on my E1000, I followed the 'Advanced Routing' instructions and disabled the 'NAT' option and subsequently enabled the 'Dynamic Routing (RIP)' option.  Everything worked like a charm to this point, but now I'm stuck. What steps do I need to follow to allow clients to log onto my wirelss network via the E1000 (secondary access point)? I've established WEP security keys on the WRT400N (primary access point) and want to use the same network security parameters on the E1000.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Adding E1000 To Existing Router?

Nov 10, 2011

I have an E1000 router and recently moved to a basement apartment where the only internet access comes from a single Ethernet cable running out of a router upstairs.  I can connect to that network (it is family) but ideally I would like to connect my router and create a second network so that I can connect my printer and other devices independently of the upstairs network.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT160N / E2500 - Network Connection Via Fiber

Aug 4, 2011

here is what I have:

A) Sonic Wall @ 192.168.1.215
B) Linksys Switch (WRW248G4P) @ 192.168.1.254
C) Linksys Router (WRT160N) @ 192.168.1.202  (Disabled DHCP Server)
D) Linksys Router (E2500) @ 192.168.1.203
E) Windows Server 2003 @ 192.168.1.200
F) There is also a Router @ 192.168.1.201 that runs DD-WRT that has an enabled DHCP Server.

It goes something like this

i) A - B --ETHERNET-- E
ii) A - B --ETHERNET-- C
iii) A - B --FIBER to another building, then ETHERNET -- D

Everything connects to the internet, but (D) on (iii) doesn't allow connection to the server (E). What can I do to make this work?

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT160N - Adding Second Router To LAN

Nov 10, 2011

I have 4 devices in my network -

1. Cable surfboard modem
2. WRT160N Wireless Router - 192.168.1.1
3. Linksys 10/100 5-port wired switch
4. WRT160Nv3 - 192.168.1.2

My current setup is -

1. Modem to first router. (WAN PORT)

2. LAN Port from router to UPLINK port on switch

The switch is upstairs, the router is downstairs.  The wifi from the router does not reach upstairs, so I have bought another WRT160Nv3.How do i add this to my setup?  I've tried hooking the new router direct to a PC and configuring it so that it is NOT a DHCP server and changed the IP from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2 then connecting a LAN port from the switch to a LAN port on the new router and disconnecting the wired pc from the new router.

In the above setup NOTHING after the switch works.  I cannot get internet while the switch is connected to the second router on any computer attatched to the switch.  The wifi will not get internet either (from second router)

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3200 Dual Band 5 GHz SSID Not Broadcasting

Aug 20, 2011

I changed the 5 GHZ SSID name using Cisco connect on my E3200 router as was expecting to see 2 available wireless networks on my laptop, but it seems that only the 2.4 GHZ is still broadcasting as it was before. When I connect to it with my laptop it shows it connecting with 802.11n, so I would think that my laptop would see the 5 GHz SSID if it was broadcasting. I am trying to take advantage of the dual band feature and connect the 5 GHZ to my blue ray player for real time video streaming.

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA4500 And Virgin Superhub Dual Band Settings

Sep 28, 2012

I have a Virgin Superhub at home which is capable of 2.4 OR 5GHz wireless. I have a mixture of 2.4 and 5 GHz tech at home so would like to use dual band. My wireless settings on my Superhub modem look like this.As you can see it has settings for 2.4 OR 5GHz and wireless modes of 54, 144 or 300Mbps.

What setting should I be using for my EA4500 to operate in dual band mode? I'm guessing I should put by Virgin Superhub modem in modem mode at 5GHz/300Mbps.I will besetting up seperate SSIDs for 2.4 and 5GHz bands.

Netgear WNDR4500 - Adding Wireless Router To Existing Network?

Sep 23, 2012

Added a wireless router to our office here so that people with laptops could get on the net without having to physically plug in. Right now it is ok, but the router is acting as it's own DHCP server instead of our server here assigning out the IP's.

The main gripe I have is I can only login to the router through my phone and not through my computer. How can I achieve this. We have multiple offices that all connect through a VPN. I would like our sys admin to access the router at his location as well.

Do I just turn off DHCP on the router and thats it? The model is Netgear WNDR4500.

TP-Link Dual-Band Wireless :: DHCP Not Working For 6 GHz Band?

Apr 2, 2013

Region : UnitedStates
Model : TL-WDR3600
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version :
ISP : Centurylink

I'm using a WDR3600 router, and I'm having difficulty with getting internet access on the 5 GHz band. Right now the router is broadcasting in both 2.4 and 5 GHz as two separate APs. The 2.4 GHz band works perfectly fine, but when I connect to the 5 GHz band my device is not assigned an IP address and cannot connect to the internet (or even the router configuration page). Unfortunately, I don't have another device capable of accessing the 5 GHz band, so I can't check to see if the computer is at fault, but both the computer and the router have worked together with no problems before, and this computer has done fine in accessing other 5 GHz bands.

Linksys Dual Band Wireless-N USB Adapter - Internet Randomly Drops And Reconnects

My wireless internet has been acting a bit weird lately. I use a linksys Dual band wireless-N USB adaptor (WUSB600N) to connect to my router, a 2wire 1000sw. I am on windows 7. Recently, the internet has been dropping and reconnecting the connection weirdly; it is apparent in Portal 2 Co-op mode; it says the connection has been lost to the server, and then within 4 seconds, re-joins the server. During that time, the little network icon (the 4 bars in the task bar) says "Identifying."

1.) What are the implications in adding another 3800. Do i need to reconfigure the ip addresses on my serial? or just the LAN

2.) Are there any additional requirements like firmware versions etc?

Adding Wireless AP To Existing Wired Lan?

Feb 4, 2013

I currently have a wired network which starts with a cable router downstairs which is a virgin media netgear box with firewall and DHCP turned on. I have a NAS server and a smart tv which run off ethernet connections to this router.then have a cable run upstairs to a TPlink gigabit switch which is connected to a PC and a printer (in my study). All this works just fine, no configuration needed.I have a TPlink wireless router, a TL-WR743ND. I want to use this to connect to the switch upstairs (not downstairs - my stone walls limit any wireless access point) to provide wireless network coverage for my house. So I figured I should configure it with a dynamic IP address (ie it gets it from the netgear DHCP), turn off the TPLink's DHCP and firewall, and then any wireless devices attached to the TPLink by wireless should have access to printer and NAS

TP-Link Dual-Band Wireless :: Use WDR4300 As Switch Rather Than Router?

Dec 6, 2012

Region : UnitedStates
Model : TL-WDR4300
Hardware Version : Not Clear
Firmware Version :
ISP : Verizon DSL

My DSL connection comes into our house in the basement and the DSL modem came with a router included. I bought the WDR4300 for the higher speed wireless connections and the gigabit ports. I really don't need the "router" functionality. I would like to put the WDR4300 on the second floor to give (hopefully) the broadest wireless range. However, I would like all my PCs (including those wirelessly connected) to be on the same sub-net. Is there a way to configure the WDR4300 so it acts like a switch rather than a router?

TP-Link Dual-Band Wireless :: What IP For LAN When TL-WDR4300 Is Secondary Router

Feb 25, 2013

Firmware Version :
ISP : fullrate.dk

My ISP has provided me a router: Zyxel P-2601HN which has an ideal WLAN transfer rate of 150 mbps. I live in a concrete 2 story house so signals are weak at best on the other floor - therefore, I Have bought the TL-WDR4300 as an extension for the latter floor. I have connected the routers from LAN to LAN and the Zyxel has 192.168.1.1 on LAN and the TL-WDR4300 had 192.168.0.1 as out set. I have changed this to 192.168.1.2 and all the setup (disabled DHCP + other) seems to work alright. BUT i can not log into the TL-WDR4300 !! Not with http://192.168.1.2 and not with [URL]. What I can do to get into the setup of TL-WDR4300. I know I can alays backup the setting and reset the router and load the setting again, make alterations, saving .....but it kind of drastic !Can the two radios SSID names (2,4 MHz and 5 MHz) be the same name as the SSID name on the Zyxel P-2601HN ? What are the implications ?
