For about a month now, the 5G does not show up. It doesn't show up as a network to select no matter what device I use. I have reset the router and updated the firmware. Both connection lights are blinking. I recently purchased and IPhone 4 and still I do not have the option of selecting 5G.

Mar 25, 2011I have a Netgear 600 dual band router connected to a DOCIS 3.0 cable modem with a 25mps internet connection from my ISP, should be fast right? When I run a speed test on my comp I get 10-13 mbps download on average. Here's the issue, upon visiting my mothers house and running the same speed test I got very similar results. She is running a Lynksys G router on a DOCIS 2.0 cable modem with 12mps connection. My question is, how can this be so, am I at the limits of my comps g network card? as a disclaimer I would like to note I am connected to the G band on both routers.

A TP-Link TD-8817 Modem with IP Address 192.168.1.1
A TP-Link TL-WDR-3600 Router with IP Address 192.168.0.1
A PC with IP Address 192.168.0.100
I figured out that I can only enter an IP Address with the range 192.168.1.* when port forwarding on the modem, ie I cant enter 192.168.0.100 for the PC.Is there any way of Port Forwarding to the PC?

Aug 6, 2012I have a Netgear N600 WNDR3700v1 Dual Band Gigabit router and am having a problem with the wired connection with my PC. Everything wireless in the house works fine. In fact, I also have a Direct TV box hooked up for on demand and a sling box hooked up (both wired) and they work find. It's just my PC that is having issues. If I bypass the router and hook straight into the modem, it runs fine also so I have something going on between the router and this PC. I updated the NIC driver and this did not work. Before the update in the device manager, it said it was a NIVIDA nForce Network Controller (if I remember right) and now it says NIVIDA nForce 10/100 Mpbs Ethernet. It was suggested that I change my speed and duplex to match the router after I update but I am unsure what to change it to.

so i have a sb6141 cable modem that is mine and not a lease. it works like a champ when hard wired to my desktop. i just got my hands on a new shiny tp-link wdr4300 yesterday and after messing with it for the better part of 2 hours, something seems to be amiss with the communication between the two. everything will be humming along fine and all of a sudden i get the dreaded PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED. sure as the world i look at the modem and all the lights are off and its resetting itself. and honestly this continues until i pull the power and plug it back up. i think maybe one time in the middle of the night i actually saw it reset itself and then come back online.

During the Configuration if I have no security set up on my network, the 3300 establishes a connection. If I however, turn any form of security on ( WEP, WPA-PSK [TKIP, WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES] ), the Connection fails. No security is not an option.
This happened while switching routers. The 3300 worked fine on my D-Link Wireless G router (WEP). I was wondering how to resolve it.?

I set up a unique SSID and passphrase (WPA2) for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. My XBOX could connect to the 2.4GHz band network and could connect to XBOX Live. But when I configured all the settings and tried to connect to the 5GHz band network, but no luck. My XBOX just said it failed to connect. I was sure that I did type in the SSID and passphrase correctly. I still cannot figure out what went wrong. I even suspected either the wireless adapter or the router malfunctioned.

I replaced my bog standard belkin 54g router (which never dropped out, never lagged), you just plugged it in, stuck your isp settings in and away you went. Not the same story with this netgear, it promises to give you a better connection in game, but since installing it, all games lag, my laptop is slow browsing, it is getting to the point where we cannot game at all and I am giving up waiting for websites to load! My xbox is connected with ethernet my laptop is wireless, but both lag. Is it to do with the router settings? I am running windows 7 on the laptop, windows xp on another desktop pc, 2 xboxes, one wired one wireless and a wii wireless. All lag!

Dec 7, 2012I currently have a NetGear WNR3500L running Tomato acting as an access point. Unfortunately, I think it's crapping out on me... Currently, there are two WiFi security cameras streaming through it to a surveillance server 24/7, and even though it is in a central location in my condo, I get shit signal ~25 feet away (and that's after cranking up the wifi radio to 60mw).
802.11n is a must, and dual SSID's would be nice too... dual band would be totally awesome but not that necessary (I still have some legacy hardware running on G...).

Turn on the security for the wireless WPA2-PSK(AES) It has 2 SSID one for the N and the other for the G. All good all light on the modem are good. Tried to connect my Toshiba Qosmio F60 but it only sees the G wireless speed. Why wont it see and connect to the N Network?
Tried 2 other laptops with N class but they only see and connect to the G network. I now have 4 laptops (3 N class), 2 Ipod touch, 2 Iphone, Wii & a Playstation 3 all running of my wireless network. Plus 2 wired PC!! :)

I'm using a WDR3600 router, and I'm having difficulty with getting internet access on the 5 GHz band. Right now the router is broadcasting in both 2.4 and 5 GHz as two separate APs. The 2.4 GHz band works perfectly fine, but when I connect to the 5 GHz band my device is not assigned an IP address and cannot connect to the internet (or even the router configuration page). Unfortunately, I don't have another device capable of accessing the 5 GHz band, so I can't check to see if the computer is at fault, but both the computer and the router have worked together with no problems before, and this computer has done fine in accessing other 5 GHz bands.

My DSL connection comes into our house in the basement and the DSL modem came with a router included. I bought the WDR4300 for the higher speed wireless connections and the gigabit ports. I really don't need the "router" functionality. I would like to put the WDR4300 on the second floor to give (hopefully) the broadest wireless range. However, I would like all my PCs (including those wirelessly connected) to be on the same sub-net. Is there a way to configure the WDR4300 so it acts like a switch rather than a router?

My ISP has provided me a router: Zyxel P-2601HN which has an ideal WLAN transfer rate of 150 mbps. I live in a concrete 2 story house so signals are weak at best on the other floor - therefore, I Have bought the TL-WDR4300 as an extension for the latter floor. I have connected the routers from LAN to LAN and the Zyxel has 192.168.1.1 on LAN and the TL-WDR4300 had 192.168.0.1 as out set. I have changed this to 192.168.1.2 and all the setup (disabled DHCP + other) seems to work alright. BUT i can not log into the TL-WDR4300 !! Not with http://192.168.1.2 and not with [URL]. What I can do to get into the setup of TL-WDR4300. I know I can alays backup the setting and reset the router and load the setting again, make alterations, saving .....but it kind of drastic !Can the two radios SSID names (2,4 MHz and 5 MHz) be the same name as the SSID name on the Zyxel P-2601HN ? What are the implications ?

I'm trying to use TL-WR2543ND to connect 50 tablets to my wireless network, but as it establish around 20 connections, no other tablet is able to connect to it.

I have downloaded the file TL-wdr3600_v1_130129.zip. Extracted the file to a temp folder. Thje file is a bin file which is a bin image wdr3600v1_en_3_13_26_up(1301).bin. I do not see any flash file to load this to the router.

Aug 20, 2011I changed the 5 GHZ SSID name using Cisco connect on my E3200 router as was expecting to see 2 available wireless networks on my laptop, but it seems that only the 2.4 GHZ is still broadcasting as it was before. When I connect to it with my laptop it shows it connecting with 802.11n, so I would think that my laptop would see the 5 GHz SSID if it was broadcasting. I am trying to take advantage of the dual band feature and connect the 5 GHZ to my blue ray player for real time video streaming.

I tried connecting my laptop directly to the twc modem and the connection is fine, while if I connect to the E2500 v1.0, through wired or wireless connections, I see that the connection is going back and forth.I tried resetting the modem and the router, upgrading the wireless router firmware, but nothing worked.

Just had my line upgraded to 50mbit down, and 10mbit up. Whenever the router is between the PC and the modem, my speeds drop to 30mbit. If i plug directly into the modem, I get the full 50Mbit. Upload speeds are always 10mbit.I've tried power cycling devices, and even replaced all cables with cat6 (which I know isn't the issue, but i'm just trying to eliminate everything)
