I have sent up a wireless network in a large building using WAG120N Modem Router and four E1000 wireless routers set as access points. Â The E1000's have the DHCP switched off to enable roaming so the WAG120N takes care of all that.

Router 1 is main modem router, which is connected to 2 pcs and 2 wif routers (wired separately), both of these wifi routers have there own ip address and dchp turned off, so they work fine and broadcast wifi nicely. now what i want to do is connect another wifi router to one of these routers (not the main one) but what setting do i need? i tried to connect the 3rd wifi router with the same setting as per the other two ie diff ip and dchp off, but when i plugged it into the port of the second router it would not show as connected or get an internet connection. Its probably quite simple to sort out, but with me being a dimwit i am tering my air out. If i could not use a wifi router for this 3rd connection, is there any other way of putting an extra 4 ports on to my second stage router.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new Cisco 2960 S series switch with a basic configuration that needs to be uplinked or daisy chained to a Cisco 3750 switch. I am not getting any connectivity to the network with either a straight through or crossover cable. the port remains in amber but a 'show interface' indicates that the interface is up. I can manage the switch with a PC patched into any port on the switch with a static IP address. Must be something very simple that I am missing. Outlined below is the configuration.

Got a new ipad2 for my son for Christmas been trying to set it up for Christmas, so on Christmas day I am not trying to do the set up. My problem is I can not get it to log on to the network. View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to disable the guest access connection on E1000 wireless router but this option is not in the firmware menu. So, now I read that I need to use Cisco Connect on the CD to change this feature. When I run the Cisco Connect software, it says it can't configure the router (probably because I already have it configured). Why doesn't the Cisco Connect software simply take me to the settings where I can change the guest access feature? Why does it try to re-configure the router? Whoever designed this at Cisco was probably smokin some medical MJ because it doesn't make any sense that I have to go through so many hoops to do something so simple.

They have Verizon service with its wireless router plus their own personal wireless router.The Actiontec mi424wr (rev i) wireless router is connected via Coax and will remain the first in line so as not to disrupt the set top boxes (STB) channel guide and other features managed by the Actiontec. The radio is active with an SSID of "ABC-Private" and its network is 192.168.1.xx. The thought is that only business personnel will connect to this router for internet.I have connected their Linksys WRT54GS to the LAN port of the Actiontec, using a static IP which I have allocated in the Actiontec's DHCP pool for this purpose. Is it possible to daisy chain 3 switches and not have ip conflict? I am running a public access network for a library. For certain library software I need for all workstations to see each other. I have 25 workstations in total and two separate management consoles. I have all workstations on two switches but one of the management consoles is on the third switch because when joined with the others it has an ip conflict. I need this console for the digital sender that is connected as well as to act as a server for go print software.

Trying to access the internet with a dell laptop after my daughter messed with the router. She gave me the passowd but when I try to log in from the laptop that has never been logged on since the pw changed, I get a message that wants the network key. I have read several posts about getting the network key but didn't see a network key.I have cisco connect on a different computer and can access the details of the router but haven't found the network key. When I try to connect wireless, there is a network with an excellent signal, but it has the name "CiscoI1593" and it asks for a password which I don't know. My original network does not appear for some reason when I try to connect wirelessly. I do see my original network name when I use an ethernet cable through the E1000.

It's not possible, where I live, for this "CiscoI1593" network to belong to someone else, it just seemed like it renamed my network to this and also wants some different password.Â

I think this may be due to something I did. My internet occasionally cuts out and it's usually something wrong with the modem or router, so I typically unplug and press the reset button on both until it begins to work again. This is the first time i've had this problem though, and I have unplugged and pressed the reset button on my router many times.

There is also a button in the middle of the front of the router that looks like a refresh symbol, but I don't really know what it is, pushing it doesn't seem to do anything but make a solidly-on light become blinky.
i have my E1000 network detected by laptop and devices but can't connect to Internet. The E1000 is connected to Cisco 2100 modem and I can connect to Internet if I plug my laptop/PC directly to Cisco 2100 modem.

Â I would like to connect the WRT54GL to the physical network and have it create a separate wifi network (WIFI2), so my laptop will connect to WIFI2, get passed to the LAN and on to the Internet. Â Cant make this work - tried setting up the WRT for DHCP server, DHCP pass through (to the comtrend), and the best I can do is get connected to WIFI2 and have access to the LAN but not the Internet. Ultimately I want to put a high gain antenna on the WRT to make it reach another building about 400' away and do away with comtrends horrible WIFI, but I cant get to first base.
