I'm able to to create my main network, but unable to create guest network. Already create CP and when connected to the guest SSID, the guest could still see my main network. How to create Guest network?
View 1 RepliesHave a WAP321 connected to a Cisco SG200-08P then connected to a Cisco 2901. The main wireless on vLAN 1 works fine. However, the Guest on vLAN 4 (Choose vLAN 4 as per the included docs so guests will be unable to see the production network) will not give an IP to any wireless device. Looking for documentation on getting the Guest radio working. The included documention for these 3 devices do not address how to get the Guest radio to work.Does vLAN 4 need setup on the 2901? Have just 1 internal port on the 2901.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy company has an RV180W Router, a SGE-2000 Managed Switch, and a WAP321 Wireless Access Point. I have about 12 users on a Windows 2003 Server Standard, completely updated. My Win box is my DHCP Server. Now I am running two VLANS, Vlan 1 (default) the main vlan is where the Win box is on. Vlan 5 (guest Vlan) uses the RV180W as the DHCP server.

I have sent up a wireless network in a large building using WAG120N Modem Router and four E1000 wireless routers set as access points. Â The E1000's have the DHCP switched off to enable roaming so the WAG120N takes care of all that.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to set up internet guest access with my wap321. No matter what I do the guest can see my whole network. Not sure what your definition of guest access is but letting them brows around my assets is not mine. I have a cheap Linksys router at home and that guest access works the way I want this AP to do.No wizards for guest access... In fact there is only one wizard by the way, i.e. basic set up.

I wish to establish a private and guest network for a local business. They have Verizon service with its wireless router plus their own personal wireless router.The Actiontec mi424wr (rev i) wireless router is connected via Coax and will remain the first in line so as not to disrupt the set top boxes (STB) channel guide and other features managed by the Actiontec. The radio is active with an SSID of "ABC-Private" and its network is 192.168.1.xx. The thought is that only business personnel will connect to this router for internet.I have connected their Linksys WRT54GS to the LAN port of the Actiontec, using a static IP which I have allocated in the Actiontec's DHCP pool for this purpose. This radio is active with an SSID of "ABC-Guests" and its network is 192.168.2.xx. The thought is that only patrons will connect to this router for internet.
My overall goal is that business personnel will have unrestricted access to the internet AND to each other¦ while patrons will only have HTTP and HTTPS access to the internet¦ and no communications will be permitted between the two network subnets. I realize there are hardware firewalls designed for accomplishing such a goal, but the business hopes to avoid the additional expense, if the aforementioned model can provide this capability.In order to accomplish this goal, my remaining tasks as are follows:
1. On the Linksys, permit only http and https traffic (and whatever else the patrons would need/want).
2. On the Actiontec, deny Linksys IP address access to everything except for the Actiontec gateway.
I am trying to connect my wireless router into the wired ethernet so that i can create a private wireless network for our room. The thing is, my school realizes what you are trying to do and your browser only displays "you are attempting to access (college.edu) network on an unauthorized wireless network. My friend has made it work by turning off the dhcp with his airport extreme and setting it to create new network instead of extend, but after I turn off dhcp I dont know what i should put in for a static ip/ dns/ what to do at all. I can look at all the connections with ipconfig/all , I just don't know the magic things to put in after turning off dhcp to make this work. I have a netgear wireless wndr 3400 n600 router.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just installed a WAP321. I literally configured a test SSID, implemented WPA Personal security, and could not get an iPad or Blackberry to associate with the network. The error message that appears in the Blackberry is "EAP Authentication Failed". But isn't EAP applicable only to the WPA Enterprise mode? The access point works fine if I have the test SSID without any security, but as soon as I turn on WPA Personal security, nothing can connect. Is there something really obvious I'm missing here?(When I select WPA Personal security, I have tried with just the "WPA2" version and "AES" cipher selected, as well as with check boxes ticked on both WPA/WPA2, and on both TKIP/AES. Neither works.)

I have used vlan 1 but looks like i have to bvi1 if i need to use the wireless,what is the difference between bvi and vlan. if i wanted users on the same vlan and wireless what would be the base config ? at the moment all corporate traffic goes to site A and other traffic goes to internet. now would i be able to create two ssid, one for corporate to access corporate subnets and the other for guest access alone where the traffic goes out to the internet.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an instance of ISE and NCS with a WLC 2100 plus a couple of LWAPs. This is an evaluation POC lab to sell ISE and NCS to our management to make our life easier.The problem I have amoungst many is I can create a guest user directly on the ISE and the guest can login, the ISE monitor shows the guest authenticates but the clients webpage passes them back to the login page not onto the original client url. The web auth is pointed at the ISE/guestportal/portal.jsp page.If I point the web auth at the internal WLC page using a WLC local user account it works.If I set the guest access to pass through it works without issues getting dhcp and dns. On the ISE is there a policy needed to say if guests are web authenticated give them access? The need is for AD authenticated users to be able tocreate guest users. The AD authentication works for sponsorship and guest creation its just the guest access redirection I am having issues with.

The office is very long and skinny so I'm looking at a cluster of WAP321's. I'm hoping these will save a ton of money versus buying a controller and more expensive access points.

How do these work for roaming? I tried a search but I've found descriptions of them not roaming at all and descriptions of them roaming but you have to do some kind of pre-authorization right up to they roam with no user interaction, they just roam.

I need the users to be able to roam around the office with no interruption. I don't want to install these and have to rip them out later and put in new ones and a controller. How to find out if the WAP321's will work for roaming.
Guestconnect SSID configured on 5508 WLC with Pass through athentication (NAC guest server). No issue with Laptops and Iphone/Ipad ver 4and 5. Only Iphone Ver 6 users unable to access Guest connect .

The IOS is version 15.1. I have created discreet Vlan's and setup subinterfaces on both the WLAN_AP0 and GigaEthernet 0 interfaces with dot1q encapsulation. The client will receive an IP from the pool but cannot ping or connect beyond the default gateway.
The external interface is using Nat overload and all wired clients are successful in connecting to outside addresses. I have insert a permit any statement in the acl which affects the external port but still no success.
I recently setup a 2504 WLC that has two primary WLANs (internal and guest) which get their IP addresses from a central DHCP server using the local router's broadcast forwarding. Things seem to be working well for the internal wlan, but clients on the guest wlan don't seem to be getting IP addresses. If I give the client a static IP they are able to communicate across the wlan okay.

It is worth noting that I am using LAG between the controller and router and this guest wlan is really just a regular wlan (with PSK) that has an access-list applied to force it to the internet only. The access-list should be allowing dhcp requests through, but in any case, I removed the access-list and it made no difference.

Here is a debug client for a machine connected to the guest vlan (vlan 33). The internal wlan is on the 10.10.10.0/24 network (same as wired and same that the AP's are connected to) and the guest wlan is 10.33.0.0/16. I don't understand why I am seeing the dhcp request come from the internal vlan/ wlan first and it gets an IP address on this network. I then see a request on the guest wlan/vlan at which point it appears to get a valid IP address on the guest network (10.33.0.0), but the client never sees this.  [code]
In our test set up, we have two WLC 5508 Controllers connected via Checkpoint UTM-1 firewall Inside and DMZ Interfaces. Both the WLC controllers are connected to the firewall via Cisco 3750 switch. On the Local (Inside) Controller, guest SSID is enabled and attached to the wireless management Interface. On the remote anchor controller, guest SSID is enabled and attached to the Management Interface as well. The following configs are replicated on both the Controllers.

Is there any thing missing in the wireless configs and or the firewall rules as i could not see DHCP request back from the Anchor Controller. Also, after DHCP is obtained, the web authentication request will be redirected to an Amigopod device for authentication. In this case is the redirect URL congiguration to be performed only on the Anchor Controller or is this to be replicated on both the Local and Anchor Controllers.
Having an issue with a Cisco Linksys E1500 on a home network. The device has a feature to provide a guest wireless network but the guest network can't get to the internet. A wired connection is fine, as is the normal wireless network but not the guest. The cheesy thing is, that it doesn't list an option for what type of wireless security protocol you want on the guest network. I'm assuming that it uses the same security protocol that the normal wireless network uses, but who knowsEspecially weird is that it asks you what password you want on the guest network but then the guest network show to be insecure when you try to connectthought maybe it was something funky with some of my configurations so I went ahead and factory defaulted it and just set it up with an insecure network for both the normal and guest networks. This didn't solve it. The guest network still couldn't get to the internet. In fact, the guest network can't even ping the router.
View 1 Replies View RelatedA year or so ago, when Verizon was my ISP, I ran a Minecraft server with a Hamachi VPN. I had looked into forwarding ports at the time, but decided to go the VPN route because I wasn't completely sure how to assign a static IP to a computer on the network. I had absolutely no issues setting up the VPN or hosting a server on the network.Recently I decided to give port forwarding a go again. I successfully assigned the static IP and put the port number into my router's port forwarding settings, but the port was still closed. I tried using online port checker tools and having friends try to log into the Minecraft server. No luck.After reading multiple port forwarding tutorials to make sure I had everything correct and double- and triple-checking all my settings, I began to suspect that something else was causing the problem. I have an older router set up as a repeater on the network so my family can connect to the Wifi network from anywhere in our house. Thinking maybe the repeater or even the main router itself was to blame, I decided to try another router. After disconnecting the current routers and setting up a spare router I had, I tried everything again. Still no luck.
I tried opening different ports unsuccessfully. No port I tried opening would work. I decided to give in and just set up Hamachi again, since that had worked flawlessly before. However, after setting up a Hamachi VPN, I realized people could join the "room," so to speak, but could not connect to the VPN itself. Even hosting a Minecraft server over Hamachi wasn't working this time.Assuming it was just an issue with Hamachi, I tried another VPN software. I got the same error - people could log in, but not connect to the VPN. Thinking back to the port checker telling me port 80 was closed, I pretty well gave up.I've walked one friend through setting up a VPN the exact same way I did, and it worked on the first try. I walked another friend through assigning a static IP and forwarding ports. I don't know what's different about my network that won't allow either of these things. I've searched my router's configuration for any setting that would override port forwarding or block a VPN, but I can't find anything.

Unfortunately, it does not appear as if the SRP500 series will allow you to create an ipsec policy where the local or remote traffic selection is 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0. It wants a specific network. I have a scenario where I want to send all traffic over the vpn tunnel.
