Cisco :: 2100 Can Create A Guest User Directly On ISE
Oct 10, 2011
I have an instance of ISE and NCS with a WLC 2100 plus a couple of LWAPs. This is an evaluation POC lab to sell ISE and NCS to our management to make our life easier. The problem I have amoungst many is I can create a guest user directly on the ISE and the guest can login, the ISE monitor shows the guest authenticates but the clients webpage passes them back to the login page not onto the original client url. The web auth is pointed at the ISE/guestportal/portal.jsp page.If I point the web auth at the internal WLC page using a WLC local user account it works. If I set the guest access to pass through it works without issues getting dhcp and dns. On the ISE is there a policy needed to say if guests are web authenticated give them access? The need is for AD authenticated users to be able tocreate guest users. The AD authentication works for sponsorship and guest creation its just the guest access redirection I am having issues with.
(WLC 4400) which enables employees to browse to a custom made webpage, where they can create an account for company vistors to access the internet. It's important for the employees not use any login credentials, they arrive on a webpage where they specify the login & password which the vistor will enter to browse the internet. Is there any good link to documention about this topic?
We have a building with 6 Cisco Airnet 1140 connected to a Cisco 2100 WLC, all tied into a nice Central Certificate server and a Win2008 NPS/Radius server on a Win2008 AD. Our trusted PC wireless access is fine, with domain laptops with certificates authenticating with DHCP all round the building. We use GP to apply settings to an AD integrated Proxy server for internet access.
The problem I now have is with guest access...
We are an education establishment, so students could turn up with anything from a laptop to an iPad to an Android phone, which immediately rules out using proxy PAC files to configure the proxy.
What I really want is a method of using the radius to verify the guest user against their existing AD user account, which I believe is possible. The one snag we have is in order to avoid the user having to configure the Internet proxy we would have to switch it to a transparent mode, which immediately restricts our ability to report on AD username, we would only have an IP address to report on, which is next to useless!
We've looked at a Gateway product (Astaro), which integrates the Filtering onto the Gateway, but the downside is that you have to use their APs, so we would be replicating existing work, whilst also managing two filters.
We’d like to extend our current Guest LAN from a 4400 WLC in our data center to a 2100 WLC located at a remote facility. However, we cannot get the foreign controller to pass traffic to the anchor controller – or so it seems. The catch is that we’re not actually trying to extend the SSID itself to provide wireless access, but instead flub it so that we can provide local wired access tunneled to the Guest LAN on the anchor WLC. I’m not entirely sure if this is possible, because I’ve read that before the EoIP tunnel will come up a guest client must associate to the foreign WLC.
We’ve followed the instructions we could find that go over setting up this type of scenario, but unfortunately they only cover setting up back-to-back 4400 controllers and as such, some functions described (notably being able to create a Guest LAN) are not possible on the 2100. We haven’t been able to find a clear and concise guide on the scenario we want to set up.
Here’s some detail:
Mobility group is up/up between both WLCs. Both WLCs are running 6.0.x code.
Anchor WLC – 3750G-24WS-S25 (a 4400 WLC w/ integrated 3750G-24)
Guest LAN WLAN “wired-guest” created; Ingress is “none” and Egress is our existing “dirtnet” – i.e. outside access. The “dirtnet” interface is *not* a Guest LAN interface. Mobility anchor is set as local.
Remote WLC – WLC2106
WLAN “wired-guest” created; Interface is “wired” w/ an IP address on the same subnet as the anchor “dirtnet” and associated with port 2. Mobility anchor is set to the anchor WLC and is up/up. I have a laptop connected to port 2 with a statically assigned IP address on the same subnet as “dirtnet.” I am able to ping the local port 2 address, but I can’t ping across the tunnel to the anchor WLC. I also cannot ping the anchor WLC "dirtnet" interface from the foreign WLC’s Ping tool.
One of our customers have one Cisco WLC 2100 (firmware 5.2) with 4 AP Mesh 1522, in a city deployment. In order to achieve local regulatory, has to implement bandwidth limitations per user.
I got screen captures of WLC QoS Profiles options, with Average Data Rate in Per-User Bandwidth Contracts. So my question is, do I need any other equipment to achieve per user bandwidth limitation? Can it be done with WLC QoS options?
I have a cisco wlan controller (2100) running software 7.0.235.0. I have the internal private wlan running off of port 1 and that is working fine with an internal dhcp server. Is it possible to setup another ssid (guest) and have the interface directly linked to a static ip on the WAN and also use the built in cisco internal dhcp server?
I wish to establish a private and guest network for a local business. They have Verizon service with its wireless router plus their own personal wireless router. The Actiontec mi424wr (rev i) wireless router is connected via Coax and will remain the first in line so as not to disrupt the set top boxes (STB) channel guide and other features managed by the Actiontec. The radio is active with an SSID of "ABC-Private" and its network is 192.168.1.xx. The thought is that only business personnel will connect to this router for internet.I have connected their Linksys WRT54GS to the LAN port of the Actiontec, using a static IP which I have allocated in the Actiontec's DHCP pool for this purpose. This radio is active with an SSID of "ABC-Guests" and its network is 192.168.2.xx. The thought is that only patrons will connect to this router for internet.
My overall goal is that business personnel will have unrestricted access to the internet AND to each other while patrons will only have HTTP and HTTPS access to the internet and no communications will be permitted between the two network subnets. I realize there are hardware firewalls designed for accomplishing such a goal, but the business hopes to avoid the additional expense, if the aforementioned model can provide this capability. In order to accomplish this goal, my remaining tasks as are follows:
1. On the Linksys, permit only http and https traffic (and whatever else the patrons would need/want).
2. On the Actiontec, deny Linksys IP address access to everything except for the Actiontec gateway.
Is there a module or way to create a Guest Access Lobby on the ASA 5525? We currenly leverage the WLC to do this for us, but are moving to a routed access enviornment which is causing some issues. We would like to offload the guest access responsibility to the ASA if possible.
I'm able to to create my main network, but unable to create guest network. Already create CP and when connected to the guest SSID, the guest could still see my main network. How to create Guest network?
I have a cisco 877 configured foir lan to lan between sites A and B. I have used vlan 1 but looks like i have to bvi1 if i need to use the wireless, what is the difference between bvi and vlan. if i wanted users on the same vlan and wireless what would be the base config ? at the moment all corporate traffic goes to site A and other traffic goes to internet. now would i be able to create two ssid, one for corporate to access corporate subnets and the other for guest access alone where the traffic goes out to the internet.
i am loaning my laptop to a friend to use while traveling and I have created a "guest user" account so he doesn't have to go through my home pages and personal files. Well, whenever this account is being used, there is no WiFi connection logo and so it cannot be connected to the internet via WiFi...
How can i create customized user in Cisco ASA 5505 having the following Privileges? note i dont have AAA server.User can only perform show running, ping, traceroute, show xlate. I have review one of the firewall configuration and found two type of password defined, what is the difference b/w enable and password?
At first I use ACS 4.2 to create static ip address user for remote access VPN,It's easy, just configuration it at user set>Client IP Address Assignment>Assign static IP address, but when I use ACS 5.2 I can't find it.I try to add IPv4 address attribute to user by read "ACS 5.2 user guide" ,it says this: [code] I do this, but it's not work. When I use EasyVPN client to connect ASA 5520,user could through authentication but will not get that static IP address which I configuration on Internal Users.so,what should I do,if anyboby knows how to use ACS 5.2 to create a static ip address user for remote access VPN.
I am just wondering if it is possible to have two user accounts in Cisco RV042 V3 (Firmware: v4.1.1.01-sp (Dec 6 2011 20:03:18). User accounts to mean that one user can access the router with an administrative level access can do all the changes and management of the router's configurations and settings while another user can only do viewing of the system summary tab and connect and manage the simple configuration to connection to the ISP in both WANs, like setting up the connection type and release/renew the ip address for dynamic ip assigned by the ISP DHCP server.
I'm trying to create a new ACS 5.3 user via RESTclient (Mozilla plug-in). Which are the header and the body content to send invoking https://172.26.0.72/Rest/Identity/User/ with POST method?
At first I use ACS 4.2 to create static ip address user for remote access VPN,It's easy, just configuration it at user set>Client IP Address Assignment>Assign static IP address, but when I use ACS 5.2 I dont't know how to do it.
I try to add IPv4 address attribute to user by read "ACS 5.2 user guide" ,it says this:
Step 1Add a static IP attribute to internal user attribute dictionary: Step 2Select System Administration > Configuration > Dictionaries > Identity > Internal Users. Step 3Click Create. Step 4Add static IP attribute. Step 5Select Users and Identity Stores > Internal Identity Stores > Users. Step 6Click Create. Step 7Edit the static IP attribute of the user.
I just do it,but it's not work. When I use EasyVPN client to connect ASA 5520,user could success to authentication but will not get the static IP address which I configure on Internal Users,so the tunnel set up failed.I try to Configure a IP pool on ASA for ACS users get IP address, and use EasyVPN client to connect ASA , everything is OK,user authenticate successed.but when I kill IP pool coufigurations and use the "add a static IP address to user "configurations,EzVPN are failed. how to use ACS 5.2 to create a static ip address user for remote access VPN?
We have installed ACS 4.1 as authentication server for wireless SSID. Need to create list of ACS user expired on specific date.Is it possible to create report in ACS 4.1 as per user account expiry date?
The design is typical Cisco unified wireless solution. In such a implementation, is the traffic from the guest user who has successfully authenticated via WEB-AUTH encrypted? If so, what is the standard used, AES128 or TKIP?
In my Wireless network, I have two appliances WLC 5508 running version 7.0.116.0.I have a WCS running version 7.0.172.0, deployed on a windows 2003 server.I've imported the two WLCs in my WCS in order to centralize the monitoring and the configuration tasks. Now I'm facing an issue when I want to create a guest user from the WCS, rather than creating this user access on each WLC. The creation of the user account is working good, the replication is done on the both WLCs, but on one of my WLC the guest user account is deleted after one hour(around). On the second WLC, the same user account remains during all its life time.In attachment a screen shot of the advanced parameter of the guest user. You can see that the user was created on the both WLC but is only active on one ... and unfortunately the wrong because the AP is associated with the other WLC.
I've got a WLC5508 (7.0.116.0) that is managed by WCS (7.0.172.0). I set up another WLC5508 with the same code and managed by the same WCS. Now I'd like to export all the 800 guest user accounts with the passwords from the old WLC and import them into the new WLC.
I am running a guest wireless network on a Cisco 5508 WLC with 6.0.202.0 code. My syslog is filling up with the following error message:
WLC: *May 15 12:32:59.244: %AAA-3-VALIDATE_GUEST_SESSION_FAILED: file_db.c:3968 Guest user session validation failed for guest_user10. Index provided is out of range..
The user that is assigned to the guest_user10 account works fine and has no idea this error is occurring.
This error message is occuring exactly every 15 minutes 24x7.
I believe I have a rogue user who has setup a device to try and login to the guest network automatically, every 15 minutes with the guest_user10 credentials. I need to track this device down. I need a way to find either the MAC or IP address of the device that is causing this error message. I have tried turning on AAA debugging on the controller but I dont get anything more than the above error. I have also tried using WCS to look at the client history but it only show the normal activity.
We are planning to setup a new WLAN using Cisco 2504 WLAN Controller and 1142N Access Point. Is it possible to create individual user accounts for the users those who all are connecting to this WLAN Network by using the 2504 WLAN Controller ?
I have sent up a wireless network in a large building using WAG120N Modem Router and four E1000 wireless routers set as access points. The E1000's have the DHCP switched off to enable roaming so the WAG120N takes care of all that.
Time Warner used remote access to get into my wrt54g system and create a new user id/password for security. As a result, my hp printer will no longer communicate with my computer. HP says to hook up a usb from router to printer, but there's no usb port on the wrt model I own. I hooked up a usb from computer to printer but it did nada...
E2000 has the guest account feature. Not sure if all guests shares the same login credentials. I would like to have guests account use seperate logins. Is this feature available? Another thing, I read the manual and it is indicated that only up to 10 maximum guest acccounts is allowed. I am looking for more than 10 - kinda like a hotspot software.
I've been looking everywhere. I've seen hotspot system, ddwrt, chillspot, etc. But it's complicated as firmware needed to be flashed.
