I have a Cisco E1000 v2. I updated to the latest Firmware 05/25/2011Ver.2.1.02 (Build 5).
Before doing this update I did get 300mbps N speeds. Now I don’t using the same settings, it max out at 144mbps speed. Also the router only seems to get B speeds when using a channel other than 11. I did do a hard reset after the firmware update.
i can only connect to my router at 144mbps(wireless N) every so often i notice my router will channel bond to 11+7, and i can connect at 300mbps!(lasts like 5 minutes) then just randomly dies and will only reconnect at 144mbps. Its not a wireless card problem since my old netgear 3700 died on me it connected up just fine at 300mbps.i use inSSIDer and i can verify that it only connects using 1 channel(i've set to auto) and tried setting to each individual channel.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a new router - cisco e1000. Currently, i have 2 laptops wirelessly connected to this router. When i do a broadband speed test, the speed drops down significantly to 8MBPS while if i connect it to the cable modem directly (wired) i.e., without router, i'm getting 15 MBPS download speed. I did a couple of times this speed check and the results are same. I tried changing the advanced settings in the router (which was specified in one of the post in this forum) but no luck. Is it that i need to buy e4200 to match the wired speed of 15 MBPS or what other things I can do to get the same speed of my cable modem (provided by my ISP)?

Although, from my provider, it should be possible to establish a connection at 25'000 kbit/s (download), max speed is at about 800 kbit/s. I'm only about 20 feet away from where the router is located and I don't use any phones (except for a cell phone). I read on this board, that I might have to change the wireless settings on the router and change the radio band but didn't manage to do so. I'm using Mac osx and a wireless connection.

I had good performance with the E1000, and I only upgraded to the E1200 because it was on sale.My only complaint with the E1200 is the slower download speed on my desktop PC that is connected directly to the router. My normal download speed on the desktop PC was 25 Mbps with the E1000 model. After I disabled the WMM on the E1200 as others suggested, the download speed on the desktop machine immediately increased from 5 Mbps up to 15 Mbps. Any other suggestions to get the download speed up to 25 Mbps before I switch back to my E1000? The E1200 router is connected to my Arris TM602G modem. Both modem and router were reset during the installation process. I setup parental controls for a couple of iPods and configured Open DNS, but other than that, the router is using default settings. All wireless devices in the house seem to be performing fine with the E1200.

I've tried setting the MTU to 1500, did a RMA with Linksys to see if it was a hardware problem, did a firmware update to the e1000, disabled DHCP and SPI, reseted my router and my modem....none of those things have worked
My ISP is comcast and I have a Arris TM502G modem
I have a 300mbps Linksys E1000 router. However, with my WUSB600N (v2) adapter connected, even with "Auto 20mhz/40mhz" set as the router's channel width, I'm still only receiving a speed rate of about 130/144mbps.

When my main PC (Windows 7 64Bit SP1) which is connected with a ethernet cable is running the wireless speed is great for all my connected devices. (Android/Apple phones, tablets, family PC, etc). But when I shut down my main PC the wireless speed drops to the point where it can take 3-5 mins for google.com to load up. The wireless connection is still showing as strong, just the speed isn't there anymore. If I were to turn my PC back on, everything will load up almost instantly and be back to normal. I've tried reinstalling the router, resetting it all back to default settings and re configuring it but I've had no luck in solving this.

I live in The Netherlands, have a modem (DSL I think...) and can connect wired through the modem with no problems.
I installed the E1000 with the CD, followed all the steps and my laptop is finding the network. However, it's only local, no internet and I don't understand why. Have tried to connect (wired) my computer to the E1000 and the E1000 to the modem but that doesn't work either.
Just got the new Linksys E1000, and follow the Cisco Connect to setup. No IP received from the service provider (which is Fibre-to-the-building, no modem is required). Goto the setup page and confirmed that the connection type is "DHCP".Once i unplug the cable from E1000 (internet port) and plug into my old wireless router, everything work nicely. The internet connection & cable itself seems fine. Switch the cable into notebook, and get the IP as well, it seems the service provider didn't lock the mac address of the devices (routuer nor PC). Cloned the mac address but nothing improved.Tried release the IP before unplug from the old router, switch off old router, and wait 10mins before connected to E1000 but still no luck.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery two or three days I'm unable to reconnect to my wifi network when I turn on my Windows 7 laptop or Android tablet. I have to power cycle the wifi router to get the connection again. This usually happens after I haven't used either device for a day or two. The connection usually does not drop when I'm using them. Restarting the computer or the tablet does not work and using the Windows troubleshooter (or the android app for wifi issues on the tablet) also doesn't work. Both computer and tablet recognize the network and say the signal is strong but won’t connect to it. There are no physical obstructions. I have no problem with my internet connection (cable modem). The problem really seems to be with the wifi router.

I have a Linksys E1000 device that is connected to a DSL connection through a modem. I have a Laptop that is wirelessly connected to the router and a PC that is connected via cable. Lately, a problem started to occur where the router keeps losing the internet connection and Laptop tell me that it connected to the router but there in no internet access and the same thing happens to the PC, both disconnect at the same time. I called my ISP company when this happens and they told me that the connection is working fine and everything look ok from there. I connected my PC directly to the modem and it worked fine so problem is not from modem. When i go to the router settings at the moment this occurs, it shows that all IPs are 00000 and status is "Connecting" and then it connects and changes to "connected" and everything fine till like 15 minutes later where this happens again (sometimes, it actually disconnects again after like 15 seconds!). I took the router to the dealer and he examined it and told me there is nothing wrong but he updated the firmware and told me to try it but same thing so he exchanged it for a new one and problem is still there!

Using it w/ my HP laptop since July, just got Mac book and was trying to use w/ that addition laptop but could not find router password, also 192.168.11 would not let me access w/ password: admin, so I reset the router and renamed it. NOW my HP laptop shows my router connected, BUT will not access internet.
Why my internet was so slow .90mbps. They got on my mac and changed the Ethernet setting to "manually" instead of "Automatic", then changed the speed to 10mbps instead of "autoselect". Now the internet is going at the 10mbps im supposed to be getting, but when i plug it into my router (wall>router>laptop) i get the .90mbps again. So do i how do i change the same setting on the router?

Lately when I turn on one of my computers, or attempt to connect with my Motorola Xoom tablet it will show connected but I will not have internet access. Initially it will show that I have internet access but not work, then after about 1-2 minutes my PCs will show "No Internet access" for about 2-3 minutes, then it will show "Internet Acess" again and still not load. After that, in about 1-3 minutes the internet will start working and work as good as ever until I disconnect (manually or by turning off my computer) then connect again; the process described avove happens again.

We have 2 Laptops in our house and 1 (windows 7) can connect to the router and get internet access but the other (windows vista) can't it says that the Cisco router is not connected to the internet but it is. I've tried everything, resetting, reprogramming, etc. I recently found that the windows 7 one had the software installed and the windows vista didn't. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an ADSL modem connected to a Cisco E-1000 router. I have two laptops (Windows Vista and 7), an iPad and two smart phones. The iPad and the phones connect without any problems at all and stay connected without interuption. But the two laptops keep losing internet access! They stay connected 10-15 minutes, then invariably lose internet access. I have to manually disconnect and reconnect again to get back on the net - but again, only for 10-15 minutes.
I've tried many things - changing the channel, playing with all sorts of parameters (as suggested by the online chat guy) - but to no avail.
I have the router plugged in for internet but do not know the password for the wireless connection. i am running a mac.
i have also tried using the standard admin or password as passwords to get in and am unable too.

Trying to access the internet with a dell laptop after my daughter messed with the router. She gave me the passowd but when I try to log in from the laptop that has never been logged on since the pw changed, I get a message that wants the network key. I have read several posts about getting the network key but didn't see a network key.I have cisco connect on a different computer and can access the details of the router but haven't found the network key. I can get to Wireless, Wireless Security and the security mode is WPA2/WPA. I can see the password but where is the network key?
Was told by a HP technician that I could setup a .wireless home network for the purpose of having my iPad and iPhone 4 connect to my D100 HP printer. I just bought a E1000 and connected it to my cable modem. I can connect to the internet with my wired PC and wired Xbox 360 with no problems. For some reason on my wireless laptop I can only connect to the internet by the Guest connection. When I connect to the regular router SSID I get local only access, no internet.

When I watch HULU through the player it kills the entire internet connection for all PCs. I have to unplug the router in order to restart it. Everything will also work just fine until the next crash.Here's the thing, I'll watch a bit of the show and see the commercials and the router will only crash when it comes back to the show. If I watched 100 commercials they would not crash, but as soon as it returns to the show CRASH. Restart and we watch again.

I've called my ISP (Brighthouse) and went through a whole process of bypassing the router, restarting the modem for 2 minutes, and restarting the router for 30 seconds. Then I even got assistance from the router's maker (Linksys) by switching the IP address of the router, they said this could be the issue if my modem had the same IP address. I switched it to 192.168.2.1, but still no luck. I do not know what to do now. The new router is a Linksys E1000. I haven't got the specs of my modem yet.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently use a Linksys E3200 and mainly direct connect it to my laptop. My current ISP is with Insightbb to which I use their 20.0 (20 Mbps) service. For the past 6 or 7 months I've had little to no issues with my internet connection until about a week ago. While directly connected to the E3200 I used to get up to about 20/21 Mbps at a constant rate. Yet now I'm lucky to get up to 13/14 Mbps. Also, the speed will sometimes fluctuate; shooting to as low as 8 Mbps and shooting as high as15 Mbps. I can verify that my ISP is not the issue. I've directly connected my laptop to the modem with success and received a healthy speed of up to 23 Mbps with no fluctuations. The problem only occurs once I directly connect to the router. Attempting to connect wirelessly shows the same, if not worse, problems.
I've attempted numerous factory resets and used the 30:30:30 method to no avail. I've tried power cycling the modem, router and laptop. I've tried disconnecting the router for up to 10 minutes. I've upgraded the firmware to the most recent update. I've tried setting a static IP. I've tried imputing the MTU manually. I've tried setting a MAC address clone. I've tried turning on/off UPnP. I've tried release/renewing my IP address. I've tried flushing my DNS. All of which I power cycled the router after each and every attempt.
I've recently purchased a WRT160N router, and I'm using it in conjunction with a WMP54G wireless PCI card. I've set the router up to my requirements, and can get a stable wireless connection.. but internet speed seems excessively slow. While I'm able to get up to around 4MB/s transferring files over the network, running speed tests, it consecutively shows my download speed to sit around 400KB/s, whereas I'm able to get a steady 1.1MB/s on another desktop that is wired. Disabling the LAN adapter on that computer, and connecting via wireless, brings down the speed that that computer is able to get to around 400KB/s as well. Hence, I don't think it's my wireless cards, but something to do with the router itself.I'm also experiencing lag spike issues in online games, which I can only attribute to the current wireless setup, because I've previously had no issues with it. All relevant ports are forwarded, so that is not an issue.After doing some Googling on the subject, someone had suggested running SpeedGuide's TCP Optimizer, and changing the RWIN - I ran it, and set it to the 'optimal' settings, and after a reboot the wireless seemed fine - I was getting just a tad under what I should (about 950KB/s).. but after a short while, it just went back to 400KB/s. After further investigation, it seems that Vista automatically changes that RWIN value to optimize network traffic.. but I never had this issue with my old wireless gear, so I can only assume that the way Vista is reacting is based on the way the router is interacting with it.
