Set up our E3000 following the set-up guide. However, wireless devices (laptop, iPhone) recognize the network, but cannot connect. There's no prompt for a password or anything.

Internet connection is fine for my desktop, wired to Xbox, wifi for Iphone, Ipod, but no connectivity to my laptop wirelessly. I have run the repair automatically on my laptop (Windows 7) and get 2 different messages when trying over and over to use this tool. 1. Network Configuration Problem 2. Problem with wireless adapter or access point. I get a "fail" when trying this:
1. If your client device has a Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ button,click or press that button and then click the button on the right. or when putting in the router's pin number.
I have Linksys E3000 Router and it is connected to 7 Devices at this moment via DHCP. I have got New NAS Enclousre (8th Device) which has got Lan port . I have connected Box to One free Port on E3000 Router. I see DHCP Reservation from 192.168.0.1 assging one IP to My NAS Enclosure Box i.e 192.168.0.13 But when i ping that box . It's not pingable. When i try to browse that NAS Enclosure's setup web page - it's not opening. I can access that box setup page if i connect direct 1:1 Lan cable over private network (169.254.XXX). It means web server is runing on box. I am clueless. E3000 is assigning IP to NAS Enclosure but can't Browse or Ping. I tried to Assign Manual IP address to NAS enclusure and reconnect to router. Still I can't ping or browse.

I have a Compaq presario CQ61 laptop running windows 7 and since my boyfriend installed a new netgear wireless router I haven't been able connect to the home wireless network. I have no problem connecting to public or private wireless networks at my house or elsewhere. Also, my boyfriend and his roommate have no problem connecting to the network on their laptops. It is a WPA encrypted network. I have also tried shutting off the firewall on my computer without any change. My laptop doesn't even recognize the network - i tried to manually add the network to my computer but it still won't come up on my list of active networks.

I didnt worry about it until I got an Iphone and now .I was able to re-establish the wireless connection on my netbook today after a ton of research and messing around with the settings and then downloaded network magic, which finally fixed the problem. I believe that it automatically transmitted the WEP key to the Netbook, which is what I am missing when I try to log into the network on the Iphone.How do I get this password to show up on Network Magic? When I look at the settings, it does not show the actual numbers, they are hidden.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have the E3000 router. I set it up about a month ago and had my laptop and iphones and ipads all hooked up and working great. About two weeks ago, all of my devices are having problems connecting to the network and if they do connect, it is unstable (slow speeds or constantly dropping from the network). I know it is not the internet due to the fact that my LAN connection (hardwired) runs great. I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out why. I have restored to factory defauls and started over setting it up with no change in performance. I have the latest drivers on the router and the laptop. I thought maybe it was vista and my laptop or network card, but the fact that I cannot get my phones or ipads to connect with good performance I am starting to think it is something to do with the router. Also, just for more info, I am using Chater cable internet. I am running vista 64x on the laptop.

I tried to force pair the iPhone by turning off Data Connection, which usually forces the WiFi, which it did, but then when I went to a webpage it wouldn't load even though wifi was showing full signals.I then booted up my lenovo laptop, and it connected to the internet and worked like a charm. Then my iPhone4s started working again. Why not now finally set up the wireless aspects of my HP B209 that I've never used, so I can print from my laptop wirelessly, which I've always wanted to do.So I was able to setup the printer after adding the MAC address of the printer to my belkin router by going to the IP address for the router and adding that specific address, I changed NOTHING ELSE.Internet on laptop not working now. It shows my wireless network with full bars in range, but when I go to connect it simply says it cannot connect, right away. I check my phone, wireless GONE again! I tried to force pair the phone, no dice. I "forget the network" on my phone, it still shows available, I connect put in my password and it immediately denies me, I tried un-plugging the router, restarting all computers, un-plugging router -and- restaring all computers, turning off the printer, repeating all previous steps, and finally I went and deleted the MAC address I added to the router, and all of the above did nothing to fix the solution.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOne moment the laptop was using the wireless connection from the router in our house and the next it lost internet access and then wasn't able to recognize the SSID or connection at all on the available wireless connections. We have reset the router and restarted the laptop countless times yet the only internet access we have is on the computer the router is hooked up to.The wireless connection works neither on the laptop nor the Wii, both previously works merely hours ago and with no problems until now.We assume there is an issue with the router itself, whether it be a loose ethernet cord (which only faintly can be moved in its place).It's almost as if the router is stopping them (Wii, and laptop) from having access. When we explore the wireless internet properties on the laptop, it shows the wireless connection, yet only there and doesn't give access to it. Could it be the router, or could the company have restricted WiFi only to the computer it is hooked up to?

It seems the router has been reset (as the router name has returned to its original). My laptop can recognise the router, it shows 5 bars signal strength but will not connect. My old network set up had been 100% wired, but with the new router we have converted to wireless on some of the internet capable devices. I have 2 pc's side by side in separate room from the router that we purchased wireless adapters for, the Linksys AE1000. One pc set up fine and accesses the internet with no issues. The second pc cannot connect the network. It sees the network with a good signal strength, but it times out when trying to connect.I called tech support and have been through a variety of things with them to no avail so far.Both of these pc's are running Windows XP SP3. On the one that won't connect, have already confirmed in device manager that the adapter is correctly installed. I uninstalled it, rebooted, reinstalled it anyway with no luck. With tech support already tried disabling the 5ghz band and changing the channel on the 2.4ghz band to 11.I have confirmed several times I am entering the password in correctly, and I did pay attention to case sensitivity.When I run ipconfig/all, it says under Media State: Media Disconnected.

As you know a new Apple TV was released and along with it you now have the capability to send music and photos from iTunes on your laptop to your Apple TV which you can then play on your TV. These two components communicate through your wireless router. However this is not happening because (I believe) that the E3000 is blocking something (a port, some rouge firewall setting, etc.). I would be happy opening every frigging port this thing has and blocking all it's internal firewalls just to see if I can get these two devices working correctly. The software that allows this to all occur is called Airplay via your homeshare g network. Any success in getting your Apple TV and your iTunes and perhaps your iPhone to call communicate together or how the E3000 works.

When my family comes over they can connect with their iPads and laptops but for some reason I can not get this iPhone 4G to connect. We put in the password and it says unable to connect. I open the router using "admin", reset Wireless Security and reset my password. Wireless laptops, wireless camera now works fine but now iPhone will not connect? I have double checked the password, it is the same as the router. Is there something else in the router that needs changing for the iPhone connection?

when i go on my iphone and click on the wirless network i just set up, it does not ask me for a password. instead i get a screen titled "IP Address" with three buttons below (dhcp, bootp, and static) with a list of blanks for ip address, subnet mask, router, dns, etc. below that.

I decided to use the guest network after one of my sons friends was sitting outside one morning using my network. I told the friend the pw for the guest and changed the pw for my network and created an key on a thumb drive. Now I cannot connect my iphone. My Iphone doesnt recognize my printer (HP Photosmart D110a) when I try to print something from it by AIRPRINT. After updated my printers and routers firmwares, the problem continues. View 2 Replies View RelatedThis was for a WRT160n v3.0.02 I looked up several suggestions online and decided to update the firmware to v3.0.03 This seemed to only make it worse as I could no longer connect, and when I turned the router off and back on it would allow me in for about a minute and drop me right away.I started tweaking with the settings, and came across some posts here such as this one, started tweaking with the channel settings and everything. Nothing. If anything I somehow made it worse since now instead of dropping repeatedly it wouldn't connect at all except for about a minute after restarting router, then it would drop completely (I would either get the limited access notification or I simply couldn't connect and windows said to unplug the access point. I recalled I had another Linksys router that I wasn't using in storage, a WRT54G2v 1.0.01 so I set that up, no problems... at first. All other devices picked it up right away, but once again, my new laptop decides it's too good for the freaking network and drops it repeatedly telling me there's a problem with the access point.
So at this point I'm thinking it might NOT be my network, but my wireless card or something, I uninstalled and reinstalled, updated drivers, (I use a Realtek RTL8723AE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC) I even came across this article and disabled browser service and NETBios (including all other devices on my network). It brought back the network on my laptop for a bit, only to smugly come crashing down again.
