I have a EA3500 and my wireless computers keep getting disconnected about every ten to fifteen minuets. I have the newest firmware. My android phone also is having the same issue. My internet connection is stable and my wired connections do not get disconnected at all at any time. Is there something I need to setup in the configuration to resolve this?

When IP of both systems are not reserved, each computer can see other network computers and devices, five in total.A good thing that both systems get each time same IPs which even got not changed since I upgraded from E1200.When I reserve an IP for each system exactly that they currently have, both systems loose ability to see other network computers. Network shares not affected, I still can remotely access my XP box remotely from my 7 via RDP by computer name. WDTV Live wirelessly connected to the router can get/update its IP address (no connection issues) but same as others cannot see network resources.
Tried different ways, rebooted, finally ended up with device reset pushing the button.The next day I managed to reproduce the issue, but was able to revert by disabling/enabling of DHCP server.Another issue I got with an external HD connected to the router when some files got converted to folders by uTorrent started from that drive.I had to use Unlocker application to be able to delete folders converted. I can just assume that issue because of anonymous access was enabled to the external disk. No problems when same HD connected to PC USB.
I've recently purchases a Canon MF3010 Multifunction printer, and connected this to my EA3500 router's USB port. Used Cisco Connect to setup the printer, and the print function is working fine.
The issue is with the scan function. It appears the default functionality of the router is to only activate the connection to the printer when a print job is fired off. When this connection is active, the scan functionality works fine.
Another way to activate the connection to the printer to allow for scanning would be to go through
Cisco Connect>Computers and devices>PrinterWhile the process is running (searching for printer), the connection is active as well, and scanning works fine. When the process is closed, scanning no longer works, with an error message stating that communication to the printer cannot be established.
Is there a simpler way to keep the connection to the printer active, or some sort of configuration to automatically establish this connection for scanning?
I purchased and installed the above router to replace a working router that had a problem with our new condo location. The old router couldn't access one of our computers. The EA 3500 worked seamlessly for 6 months. Now the connection fails intermittently (more times off than on) from that one computer. It is two rooms over from the router & modem. These are now in a fixed location that cannot be moved.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had a EA3500 router in front of a 3Mb ADSL connection for about 6 months. This delivered essentially the same WAN performance as the WRT54G (v5) I replaced with it. Either router would get 2.4-2.8Mbps through a variety of speed test sites, inlcuding the CCC builtin speed test.I upgraded to a 10Mbps cable internet connection today, but the EA3500 won't deliver any more speed than with the old ADSL connection. The reason I am blaming the EA3500 is that if I plug my computer directly into the cable modem, I get a solid 9.9Mbps down/0.99Mbps up, which is exactly how my line is provisioned. With the router in place and active, I get the same slow WAN connection, 2.8-2.9MBps, whether using a PC connected with GigE, a PC connected via Wireless-N, or with an iPhone. This all implicates the EA3500's WAN connection.
Is there anything that can be done do let the EA3500 work properly? I upgraded my firmware today in hopes that that would change something. But, I get the same speed with the latest firmware (1.1.39.145204) as I did with the previous version. Speed across my wired LAN is excellent; I can sustain 70MB/sec from my PC to my NAS. It's only the WAN connection that is performing poorly.I can downgrade to the non-CCC firmware if that would make a difference; would it?
I am using a brand new Linksys EA3500. We have 2 laptops connecting to it. One is an older XP machine which never has any problem. The other, a Vista machine, periodically drops the connection to the internet when connecting wirelessly. It never loses the connection to the Linksys EA3500 router, it just says "Access: local" and there is no internet. If I plug the Vista machine in wired to the router it works fine. I've tried my old router and I don't get this problem, which leads me to believe that my wireless adapter is functioning properly on the Vista machine.
When the vista machine drops the internet, I can still get into the router configuration at 192.168.1.1, but when I click on the tab which says wireless it sometimes says: "Router not found. You are not connected to your router." It says this despite the fact that I am connected to the router?I've tried reinstalling Windows, that didn't make any difference. I am convinced that it is a problem with the router, but I can't find any settings to adjust which remedy the situation. Of coarse, I've tried reseting my modem and Router many times...doesn't resolve the issue. I've also gone into DOS and done an ipconfig release_all and renew_all.
I used the CD to set up my new EA3500 with my Wild Blue Satellite internet modem.An IPhone or IPad can connect and work like a charm, remaining rock solid at all times. Windows 7 on the other hand, will work and then lose connection to the internet. The PC appears to remain connected to the EA3500, but the connection between the EA3500 and modem appear to be lost. I can click on the bar Icon at the bottom and it shows everything to be fine. I click on disconnect and then wait a few seconds and click on connect again and it works for a few minutes before having to do it again. When I look at the router properties the CD set it up for DHCP.
View 2 Replies View Related I've recently purchased the EA3500 dual band wireless-N router to replace my old and somewhat tired WRT54GS. The old router worked, I just decided to upgrade to wireless-N since all of my devices are now capable.My ISP is Comcast and I use a Motorola SB 6120 cable modem. After an extremely easy setup of the new router last week, I experienced one full day of glorious speedier network and internet traffic. However, roughly 24 hours after installation I started experiencing intermittetent internet connectivity issues. As in - the cable modem is accessible for 2 minutes and then can't be found for 2 minutes, repeat forever.
After multiple different troubleshooting steps, including rebooting both the modem and the router together, separately, and releasing and renewing the router's IP Address through the router's admin page, I finally ended up resetting the router back to factory defaults and letting Windows 7 guide me through the re-installation rather than using the provided "easy setup" CD from Cisco.
This seemed to have worked, but 2 days later, my "every 2 minutes" issue returned.
Something important to note here is that all of my devices - both wired and wireless - are able to communicate with each other without issue. For example - while I have no access to the cable modem, I am able to stream music from a wired desktop through a wireless laptop to a wireless receiver connected to my TV. I am also able to access the router's admin tools during my connectivity issues.
I bought a new EA3500 too replace my old WRT120N. After I replace it with the same configuration as I had in WRT120N, my dongle Wifi WN100 (Atheros) stop working. Even it indicates that Wifi is connected and dispyed in DHCP current table, I can't ping the device from my PC connected to the router.I rolled back to my WRT120N and all works again.

I can sucessfully use it to connect to the internet using the wireless feature but only for a short time (10-30min at a time). Eventually, I loose the connection. I'm not sure if it's a modem issue or an ISP issue but only one of my two laptops has this trouble.
Symptom: Connecting with a Dell Lattitude E5520 laptop It works normally until the "US" and "Online" LEDs turn off and only the DS light is left blinking. At that time I no longer have a connection to the internet. Once I cycle power on the WCG200 it re-connects and works for a while, then the same issue repeats. I cleared the modem log and let the failure occur again to record the fresh log.
I attached the Modem Log in case that would troubleshoot. I've got the security of the modem set to allow the laptops MAC addresses and using WPA-personal / TKIP encryption. I never had this problem until I started using a new laptop, I'm starting to suspect that my ISP is disconnecting that laptop for some reason ?
I have a new EA3500 router that's working great for a variety of devices* except a Windows7 laptop. 24 hours after establishing a connection, the laptop loses connectivity and it's very difficult to re-establish a connection. Usually I have to reboot the router, but 24 hours later the problem returns and Windows is unable to connect.
My router settings include DHCP client lease time set to 1440 minutes (24 hours), so I thought the problem might have something to do with DHCP lease renewal. To test this theory, on Saturday night I did ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew and established connectivity from the laptop.
Sunday morning I spoke with Linksys support and changed several settings per their recommendation:Network mode mixed (I had it on N-only for some reason)Assigned different SSIDs to the 2.4GHz band and 5 GHz band2.4 GHz band channel is 20MHz only, using channel 95 GHz band channel is 40 MHz only, using channel 161I also power cycled the router. Everything worked fine until Sunday night, 24 hours after the release/renew, when I lost connectivity. I am not sure what to try next and whether the problem lies with the router or the laptop.
If I update my firmware on my EA2700 router to be able to use the Cloud, will I loose the ability to connect to my router on 192.168.1.1 ? If this is so, why couldn't linksys let you use both Cloud and 192.168.1.1 in their latest firmware?
View 3 Replies View RelatedNot too much networking savvy - but here goes. Want to use router as local lan - no wireless. When router is connected to laptop via RJ45 I loose my ability to connect to sites via browser. IPconfig shows wireless adapter at 192.168.1.3. When router is attached it's ip is 192.168.1.1. Disabled the wireless in the settings but no dice. When the router was used with DSL it was set at PPPoE but now that I'm just using it locally not sure whether it should be DHCP or Static or other.

From the routers point of view it still has a good solid internet connection. Passes traceroute, but wont allow any wired or wireless connections on the internet. I'm trying to get a Linksys WRE54G v1 to work with this so my parents can have internet once more. If i manualy remove the security to allow the one touch Auto configuration button to work i loose my ability to surf until i run the Cisco Connection software to turn back on the passwords.

The problem is that we loose connection between the router and the switch.When we excute the command: show cdp neighbor at router, it shows nothing.If we try to make ping to the 2960 switch it is no reachable.If we make ping to the other router 3945 it is not reachable.All other function of the router are o.k.We are attaching the IOS of the routers and switch 2960 and a document in which make reference to a BUG in which mention about arp overwrite due arp attack which produce DoS.

Not sure what other router info you need. All are connected to the internet, but can't see each other on the LAN. We can see each other from time to time. Sharing is allowed. Passwords are shared. I can power off the router and the network will be fine for about a day, then gone again. Workgroups are the same.
I already mention on another topic that I have problems with my Nokia 500 wireless connection with the router. From time to time (in some cases after few seconds since the connection was made) it's loosing the connectivity with the router. Normally it's loosing the connectivity when the connection it's not used by any phone application.Is this normal? I want to mention that the power saving function of the phone it's disabled so the problem can be from the router.I already tried TPIK only but no success.

I've purchased and am trying to use a Dir-655 rev. B, running firmware 2.00NA. I have two hard-drive style Apple Tv's. They can see my wireless network, and after putting in the passcode, can connect. They at this point are visible to iTunes and can play any/all of my content. However after a period of non-use, they go into standby mode, and upon waking, can no longer connect to my network. I have to re-do the wireless each and every time

my wife bought me this EA3500 for Father's Day this year. It's only been hooked up for a couple of weeks (we were in the middle of a move during Father's Day), but now I have no wifi on either band. My wife can no longer connect to it either. We have tried completely resetting it, we have reset the modem, the switch, laptops, everything. Still no wifi. It worked out of the box, but now we have nothing. Does HP needs a certain type of driver? Our iPhones show connected and surf the brower's and FB app with no issues while in wifi mode, but then again, I can pull the ethernet from the internet port and the phone's still show connected (good job, iOS).Cable from main splitter runs to basement where the modem is located. Modem ethernet feed up a wall to a wall plate where the router is. Router then feeds back to the switch. The switch then sends the IP throughout the house for the LAN lines, and the EA3500 feeds all of the wireless devices (used to). So, Cable box, modem, router, switch. Router is currently good for LAN only. I am connected to it via LAN right now, 2 feet from my laptop.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got a new router, a Cisco Linksys EA3500, and everything works fine and no one else in my family notices anything. Everything works and I don't have trouble accessing the internet and I always get 5 bars, but whenever I play a game online it will disconnect me after a while. Sometimes it disconnects me after 5 minutes and sometimes after 30 minutes. The only games I play are Arma 2 and Garry's mod and I have the same problem with both games. The weird thing is that I talk to friends on steam when we are playing and it doesn't get disconnected I can hear them fine, and my internet access bar at the lower right doesn't say I'm disconnected. Streaming and downloading work as well. I have no idea what to do, we got a new router because the old one was faulty and we called our isp and they said there was nothing wrong on their end it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe guest network on the router keeps going down. It can be seen but it cannot be connected to. Sometimes it works for a day or 2 and then it doesn't. I have to constantly babysit the network and it is entirely frustrating because the only fix is to reboot the router.I have tried factory resetting several times.I have tried re-flashing the fw.I'm using the non-CCC fw because CCC had way, way too many issues.These routers have been out for months and many people have been having issues and somehow Cisco doesn't see fit to work on firmware that stabilizes them at all? It's like, they release a router and then forget about it - the next batch comes along, often the same guts with a different shell and it's the same thing over again. I had a WRT610N and I said I'd never buy another Cisco after that but I broke my rule because of being lured by these "App enabled" features, which mind you have nothing at all over the competition since the CCC doesn't even work for most people.

Can't seem to choose my DNS server (use Unblock-US) since the router insistently forces me to use the DNS from ISP.How can i work this around? I'm kinda tired of people asking me why i am changing the DNS. I want to change the DNS and that's final. It's a resource like any other and i want to use it.P.S: i tried most of the basic troubleshooting. I tried my old router back on and the DNS's works fine. I tried even conecting the old router re-routing the new one, and the other router manages the selected DNS's servers fine.

This will be the firmware you have right out of the box. Be sure you go into the Admin. section and Save a Copy before you ever connect to the Internet. Also Uncheck the Auto Updates box or you will be fed the Cloud Connect (and its amazing Terms Of Service).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently bought a cisco EA3500 router for my home network and i am pretty surprised to see that a router from the world leader in the networking domain cannot perform as expected.
The first problem i had was that the network (wired and wireless) was dropping from time to time for a couple of minutes with the power led of the router blinking. I turned off the log feature of the router and it seems that until now the problem is resolved.
Now, the second and, at least as annoying as the first, is that i have a 640gb usb hdd connected to the router, formatted NTFS. It seems that every now and then a file gets corrupted, that is, it is transformed into a folder! And it cannot be recovered without pulling out the hdd and using a 3rd parth software for file recovery.
I have the latest firmware. Should i switch back to the classic firmware instead of the "fancy" new one? I really need my files on that drive, so i cannot risk loosing them in this random manner.
I bought the EA3500 nine months ago mainly for the USB port (for a NAS). I recently replaced Comcast Cable with Verizon FIOS. So I now have the FIOS router as my main router (its' IP address is 192.168.1.1). I put the EA3500 in bridge mode to extend the (wired) network. I could get: After going in to bridge mode (with DHCP), I can not log in to the EA3500 (IP address 192.168.1.5 assigned by the FIOS router). I connect my computer directly to one of the EA3500 numbered ports (after various combinations of rebooting EA3500 and rebooting PC). It just continues to say "waiting" and never logs in. Tried choosing a static route (tried both 192.168.1.43 and 192.168.1.5 with 255.255.255.0, gateway and DNS1 = 192.168.1.1) with no luck.Since I can't log in, I cannot set up my NAS on the USB port of the EA3500 (so I haven't gotten far enough to determine if the USB port will even work in bridge mode).Thought about ensuring the latest firmware but since I can't log in I can't do that. (And after a hard reset EA3500 IP address is 192.168.1.1 which creates conflict with FIOS)

I followed the directions here: Support Page , but my verison of Cisco Connect does not have the option to "connect a USB printer".
I am on a macbook pro running OSX 10.7.4 and my verison of Cisco Connect is 1.4 (12005.2). My router's firmware version is 1.0.30.126544. A screenshot of what I see after clicking "add a device" in Cisco Connect is below. The printer is an HP DeskJet F4280.
after updating to smart wi-fi I can't access the USB FTP or off network.Only way it's accessible is from the computer the router is attached to via network drive.FileZilla gives me this error....."Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server".I've reset the router same problem.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter using the newest firmware for CCC, I've found it is very convenient, but only in some ways. Now, I think I find it is uncomfortable, very disappointed and waste lot of times. Each time I try to access to CCC, it took me like 5 mins to access the web page. I understand ciscoconnectcloud.com is use when you are outside of your home network, but when I access it directly from my home (local IP), why should I need to connect via a CCC(?) I want a local connect to my router which is a faster access than via a server.
Sometimes, connect via an IP of the router, it say can't connect because of internet connection down, but actually I can still access internet except access my own router. I like the easy setup of CCC but maybe I need to switch back to non-CCC?
