My Linksys WRT120N router doesn't accept my cellphone's MAC address... Phone's MAC address is AC:81:F3:08:13:F5 but upon adding the MAC address Internet Access Priority Category based on MAC address, I get an error "Assign MAC address is incorrect".

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some strange reason I'm getting the error "WAN IP should not be a network address" when I type in an IP address under the Static IP Settings section in the "IP Address" field. My client has a static IP from his ISP and I'm trying to set it up on the router. I've updated to the latest firmware 1.0.4.17 but still the same error.
I'm not copying and pasting the address, I'm typing it in. There is no extra spaces or anything. What is this glitch? I could save the router settings and reset it and try that but I'm doing this all remotely and would rather not have to make another trip to do this onsite.
Putting this router back in service, I reset (10 and 30 sec hold) until lights flashed. Unplugged it. Came back and connected to computer. Used default u/n = blank and p/w = admin -- doesn't work, can't get to control screen. Tried various combinations and still won't work. How do I get router to respond?

Ive entered the web addresses in the Website Blocking by URL Address boxes on the internet access policy page but it doesnt seem to work no matter how i do it.
Ive tried to deny internet access but that shuts of all internet access.
After an upgrade of the WRT120N to firmware Ver.1.0.06 (Build 01) every device I have tried to use WPA authentication with will authenticate / associate with the device then drop the connection just prior to recieving a DHCP address.I have tried a Dell latitude laptop with the broadcom chipset, an iPhone 3GS as well as an motorola with google pad device and all experience the same problems.I have removed all mac address filtering, and re-enabled the essid broadcasting only to have the same problem persist despite stripping everything down to just WPA.

DHCP client in the EA6500 either doesn't ask for an IP address from the cable modem or the modem just isn't supplying one. With the E3000, you could see the IP address assigned by the cable modem and the primary and secondary DNS server addresses provided, and if the DHCP request didn't work, these addresses would be all zeroes. But, with the EA6500, I can't find an equivalent screen that shows these assignments, or zeroes when the DHCP request fails.

I have a D-link wireless-N USB adapter whos MAC address starts with 1C:xx:xx:etc. Unfortunately the QOS GUI does not allow me to enter a MAC address that starts with anything but a zero (0). This is a javascript verification so I guess it would be fairly simple to modify this. Is it possible to have the firmware updated so these MAC addresses are accepted?
I've tried to cascade two Linksys routers, but It hasn't worked for me. The first one (which has cable-modem connection) is the brand new E4200, and the second one is the old WRT54GCv3.[code] However, the WRT54GCv3 doesn't get the IP address from the E4200's DHCP. I've also tried to connect them directly (without the PLC), even specifing an static IP on the second router, but I got the same results.I've to state I don't want to change the first router IP/gateway parameters because I have a web and game home server working with an static IP and I don't want to put it offline temporarily because of readjusting network parameters.

I am using VLAN10 (192.168.1.0/24) and an interface VLAN10 (192.168.1.1) which is the WLAN management interface as well. The CAT3850 provides the IP address via DHCP for the AP. After that the conversation starts from the scratch. On the CLI of the AP I can see that the AP fails to download the image (it is stucked in the image phase).I am using the 50 AP evalutaion licenese. Therefore, it should not be a problem of having no licenses.
Although it does accept it in the setup wizard, you cannot change it in the vap list later on, it will throw a popup telling you there's an invalid character.

I get at 530 login error everytime I try to come in from the outer world. I have a static IP and cannot get in. It will prompt me for user name and password so I know it is responding to my query. View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I plug in the power cord to my EA6500 all the LED's on the back, and the white Cisco on the front come on solid, then the lights on the back go out and the white Cisco light starts blinking faster than every second. I can't get it to stop blinking no matter what I've tried so far.
It won't let me connect to it at all. I've tried everything I can think of, and have tried almost everything I could find in Troubleshooting in Cisco Community. The Linksys Smart Wi Fi Router setup says "We could not find your router."
I've also tried using the red Reset button and the light never stops flashing. I've tried pushing the button quickly, holding it down for ten seconds, and holding it down for more than 30 seconds, but the light continues to blink. I've also unplugged it and waited more than 10 seconds, but nothing seems to work.
I was able to install the RV042 router to my ATT DSL line (WAN1 port-INTERNET) and it gets an external IP address automatically and the Internet works. When I connect my Comcast Internet to WAN2 port INTERNTE/DMZ) it doesn't get an IP address. and the Internet goes down and the WAN2 port ip address says 0.0.0.0.I've tried releasing/ renewing and it still says 0.0.0.0.Everything else is set as the default.

I tried setting TiVo up manually but it won't accept the password/key for the 5g band. I gave up and used the "push button" method, but I have a feeling that puts it on the 2.4g band.I do have two different SSIDs and two different passwords.

I changed my E1000 router name successfully, and then went into the Administration section to change my password. After changing the password and clicking on Save a small screen pops up asking me to verify my router's username and password. When I enter the exact same user name and password it does not accept them. When I try to enter the old user name and password it does not accept them either. I then try combinations of the two and it still will not accept the input. I have reset my router 4 times now and this keeps occurring. I am completely baffled.

I'm using an Static IP adress and i'm using wrt120n router, but to connect the internet i have plugged the internet cable in the 1,2,3,4 (doesn't matter which one) slot. So now i'm just using the wirelss part of the router without "routering" if i can say so. I don't know what type of changes i have to make in the WEB interface of the router. I've tried to set up the router with the CD-interface but same thing happened - Unidentified network when the cable is plugged in the Internet (yellow) port. View 9 Replies View RelatedMy roommate and I recently got a WRT120N to replace an older Linksys router that was exhibiting the same problems with less frequency. Indeed, the entire reason we got the new router was to fix these problems. Alas, they have become worse.Anyways, what's happening is that the router constantly resets itself. It does this every 20 minutes to an hour and doesn't seem to be related to how much traffic it's dealing with.It's not just the internet going down, it's the entire network, and not even just the wireless part. My computer has a wired connection to the router and, and I get told "A network cable has been unplugged" every time it happens. Then, if I look down at the router, I see no flashing lights, just the steady glow of the power light. It always fixes itself after 10-15 seconds, but it's very annoying. Certainly, playing games online or having a conversation on Skype is made more difficult.As previously mentioned, we replaced our older router because it was exhibiting the same behavior, but the new one does it with greater frequency. At the very least, the router does reset itself instead of needing us to cycle the power. The setup was slightly different with the old router: I was using a wireless connection with a WMP54Gv4 which I've had to disable since it bluescreens the moment it so much as sniffs a signal from the WRT120N?
