I have configured a cisco UC520 with inbound called coming in on FXO port 0 and have configured it as a co-line. I have 4 phones set up on the system including the wireless 7921 phone, the problem is that if i answer the call on the 7921 it does not give me the option to hold or transfer the call however the other phones do (7931).

We have a new deployment where we have 5 total 7921G wifi phones connected via 2 AP541n access points, one connected to a ESW520p switch and then to the UC540 and the other connected directly to the UC540. The wifi phones are intermittently giving no audio when calling each other, however, calls to the PSTN consistently do have 2 way audio. Is this a security issue perhaps? We are running the latest CCA software pack as this is a brand new deployment, also the AP's were upgraded to the latest firmware.

Do we absolutely have to set up a radius server/8021.x/EAP to enable fast roaming?We had 2 AP's autonomous with WPA2 before and roaming didn't seem to be an issue. We now have 4 APs over WLC in the same office and the phone calls are very unstable.
I have an old computer (xp circa 2005) and I would like to connect to my n router wich is using wpa2. The old computer doesn't seem to have wpa2 as an option, is there anything I can do?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently got a Motorola NVG510 (from AT&T, they changed our internet plan and sent a new router) and since then I've had problems with Skype. I think I've narrowed the problem down to there being no upnp on this router to enable, and Skype doesn't like that.So, is there any way I can make this option available, or some other way to 'simulate' upnp so Skype will play nice? I read somewhere else that "IP Passthrough" may be an option, but I'm unsure about that.

I keep getting DHCP "Timeout's" and " Configuring IP" . The ould 7921's and the new 7925's work just fine. I have tried removing and reconfiguring the WLAN and Interface on the Controllers. I even removed and reconfigured the DHCP scope in Infoblox.
We have two different entities we support and both are set up as autonomouse wireless groups. The SSID is the same though so they can use their 7921's between floors and buildings. The problem we have had is that the phones on the first floor were getting the IP's of the organization on the second floor. When you view the AP's on the phone the ap directly next to it on the first floor (the one its suppose to talk to) is listed first, The strange thing is that shows it is connected to the right AP (the first floor one). The AP on the second floor is also listed but its about third down. After the phone sits it will actually change IP's but not all of them. Their were a few phones that took about a half a day to get the correct IP.
My question is how do these phones grab their ip's? I know how DHCP works but I am needing to know specifically how the radio works on the 7921's. What is the boot up process? It appears that it must cycle through each channel starting with the highest and loop through a process in descending order: compare ssid's and then authenticate if possible. I am assuming it is seeing the second floor first because initially they all get the second floor ip. The second floor is on channel 60 and the one it should connect to is on channel 36 (We are using 802.11a). That's how I came up with my descending channel theory.
One of my 7921 phones disconnect ten time an hour and during conversations. Sometimes, people who call on this phone are redirected to the answer message.This phone is connected through WIFI network and Cisco Callmanager 4.2 manage all phones (we have about 80 phones on the network). I thought it was a problem with the phone but I exchange with another one and it's exactely the same problem. The problem is just for a line in particular. All the 7921g phones in my company are configured from mac address in the call manager. This problem occured after a storm but I'm not really sure that it's related to.

To get back you either need to exit out of the menus by pressing exit a few times or press the globe / web button on the phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a win 7 netbook that I recently got and for some reason it suddenly cannot keep a connection to the internet. It used to keep a connection before but now I keep getting the error the default gateway is not available about every ten minutes while connected which of course is very frustrating.
I've tried updating all associated drivers but apparently that hasn't changed anything. I've tried restarting the computer and tried different connections. I know its nothing to do with the internet connection I'm trying to connect to as other devices are able to keep a connection with no issue.
My wireless on my computer won't hold a connection for any longer than 30 minutes. I've checked the drivers, the wireless router, and scanned for viruses (several times) but nothing seems to work. In the last three months, I think I only had one occasion where the connection remained stable for longer than an hour. It doesn't matter what router I use or where I am. It has to be my computer.
I have a Compaq Presario CQ57 and I have had it for about 6 months.
My E3200 is having issues with keeping the speed up on wireless G. I'm about 20 feet away from the E3200 and there is 1 6in wall between me and the E3200. My connection will not hold 54Mbps, its constantly dropping to 36Mbps, even down to 5.5Mbps faily often. Around 30 feet away there i will lose internet connection yet my laptop says excellent connection to wireless.

We've reset the router twice. we can set up the wireless network but we cannot connect to it. The connection last for about 5 minutes and then we get an error, cannot read IP address. Comcast says it is not their problem and linksys says they can't assist either.

The routing table is fully populated and connection is good.But after some time we see bgp hold timer error on the non-cisco device. This device by default has a hold timer of 90 seconds which is different from default cisco hold timer. Will this cause any disruptions to the network? If we change the hold timer on one device to match on both sides, will it reset the bgp session?

I am able to connect to the network with no problems, however every 10-15 minutes I will be disconnected. I am almost positive the issue is with this computer or the adapter, because I have no wireless connectivity problems with my xbox.After being disconnected, there are 2 ways that I get the connection back. I either:1. Right click the windows wireless network icon (bottom right) and click troubleshoot problems. This seems to turn the adapter on and off during the automated troubleshooting and is then usually able to connect.2. In the ASUS software, I click "IP Renew" and this can sometimes fix the problem.Sometimes I am able to stay connected for hours, while other times it disconnects every few minutes. I have no idea what the problem is, and I know my way around computers pretty well but I am not well versed in networking.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to figure out how this works. I have an ISP device that connects to my 1841. ISP and fa0/0 hold the /30 WAN addresses. Fa0/1 hold one of the public IPs, lets say 1.1.1.1/29. Then the outside interface of the ASA holds 1.1.1.2/29. Now I have two routes in the 1841, one for default route going back to the ISP device, and a route for the 1.1.1.0/29 network going to the ASA.Now I have 4 more publics I can use 1.1.1.3 - 6. I do not want to assign these IPs to the servers, but yet just NAT them. I know this is possible, but cant figureI took an internal host and did a one to one static NAT from private to public. Packet tracer says my NAT rules are ok. Allowed all IP traffic for testing and still can't ping the server.

Did I need to call my ISP?
The computer has a strange habit of dropping my internet connection after it's been turned on for a while. I've already checked to make sure that the setting which allows windows to turn the wireless adapter off to save power is disabled, and I've set my laptop up to use a static IP address which no other device should be using. I'm connecting via wifi.The only way I know to fix the problem is to restart the computer whenever the problem presents itself.I have a motorola surfboard modem and a linksys e1000 router.The computer always says that I am connected and that I have full signal, but it displays an exclamation point over the internet icon saying 'no network access'

I've opened a case via email and got the standard response, below.I have a Dlink DP-300U print server that works fine with my 'old' Belkin router, a F5D-7230-4 wireless unit. Nothing wrong with the Belkin, I'm just getting some service drops from my lousy AT&T ifitl 1.5mbps ISP and thought a new router might work. I actually read the manual (!!) before installing the DIR-655 and even followed it. The print server just isn't visible on the network. Everything else is, though. The 'suggestions' from Dlink tech support below are very useful. If I could 'see' the print server to verify its IP address, we wouldn't be having this conversation. I've rebooted everything, several times and even reinstalled my old Belkin router (which always sees the print server.) And Dlink, no...I'm not interested in paying you $32.95 for up to a half hour to maybe fix a problem caused by your new device. And dropping my call after almost 15 minutes on hold is not cool, either. With reference to the issue you are facing, we suggest you to kindly ensure that the IP address assigned to DP-300U print server is in the same network range as that of your DIR-655.
NOTE: The default IP address of DIR-655 is 192.168.0.1 Once it is done, try to ping the IP address of DP-300U using any of the wired / wireless client connected to DIR-655.note the DP-300U is not currently supported in North America. D-Link offers a premium fee based support line that will be able to support any issues you have with this product.

I have 1841, 2800 and 3800 routers and need to do IOS upgrade to all of them. Existing routers do not have enough flash to hold 2 IOS images.if the router has 12.4.13r ROM IOS, will I be able to boot the ISR router via Cisco brand USB? That means in case something goes wrong while I am uploading new IOS to the router via WAN and something wrong, now router in ROMMON mode. If a local site person has a Cisco USB with an IOS in it, can he just stick it to the router and reboot the router and router will go out of rommon and go into normal mode? After it is working, then I can put the running IOS onto the exisitng CF card so now I can remove the USB and the CF card has a good IOS and reboot the router again.I am just trying to find a safe way to upgrade the site when they don't have big enough flash to hold 2 IOS at the same time. The local person is not technical so asking him to setup tftp server and put the IOS in the computer and so I can do tftpdnld while in rommon mode to grab the IOS from his tftp will be difficult to have the local person to set it up.
If ISR can boot off of the IOS in USB only, then I assume the requiremetn is the ROM IOS needs to be 12.4.13r. Then what is a safe way to upgrade the ROM IOS to this then? I never upgrade ROM IOS before so don't know what kind of problem I may run into and whether it's higher risk to upgrade this than upgrading the regular ios? If it is, then all my routers won't have this ROM IOS version, so that means I can't use USB to boot then? Will that means I am down to tftp server option? ( I heard xmodem won't work as it will time out before the ios can load via the slow dialup link into the router to rescue it from rommon mode).
