Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT160Nv3 - Security Certificate Pop Up Daily With Errors
May 15, 2012
My issue occurs on ALL of my home computers (MacBook and iMac using wi-fi) and ALL of my browsers (Safari, Firefox, Chrome). The problem:- Security Certificates: They pop up daily for Facebook mostly, but also Twitter. I will click Continue, which takes me to...- 404 Error/Page Not Found Error: After the Certificate error mentioned above, this happens. Mostly to YouTube. It will stay like this for a few hours. I've cleared cache, rebooted, etc. etc. Nothing works.- Images turn into little blue boxes with a question mark in them. **When this happens, it's an indication that a Certificate box will pop up out of the blue.- Even on Google.com, it will say: Invalid URLThe requested URL "/", is invalid.Reference #9.df260e6b.1336506889.420cf4fSo what can I do? It happens on both my Macbook Pro and iMac - both connected wirelessly to a Linksys router/cable modem. The router is Wireless-N Broadband Router WRT160Nv3 with Firmware Version: v3.0.02.

I need to downgrade my WRT160n so that it will work with Xbox LIVE again. I've been told by Xbox that the only certified working firmware for my router is 3.0.02.003, But I'm using 3.0.02.004.

I recently replaced an old Linksys with a Cisco E3200. All our devices get "stuck" periodically and can connect to the E3200 but not the internet. We power cycle the E3200 and all is fine. But only for a period of time, then we need to power cycle again. The range is less than my 4 year old Linksys was also, devices maybe 30 feet lose their connection even more quickly, forcing more frequent power cycling.

I bought WRT160Nv3 3 months ago . The computer is wired to the router . So I noticed 5 says ago that my download speed is slower – from 70mbps to20-30mbps . I have called the cable company and their tech support reports a good signal to the house. My firmware is up to date . I tried hard resetting the router-nothing.Plug,unplug still nothing.

Mistakenly 'removed' a PC from the network. I followed the instructions on the EasyLink Advisor to add a new computer: open the .exe file that contains all the settings onto the new computer. That didn't work. But even if I removed the computer (by mistake) I don't see why when she goes to log in to the wifi account, she can't just type in the password.how to add a new computer to the wifi WRT160Nv3?

My WRT160Nv3 appears to be working fine however, I believe there's something wrong with the setup that's making my connection unreliable. All my devices can detect the router, they can connect, but once it comes to surfing on those devices, no pages are loading up despite being connected with excellent signal strength.

I'm being kicked off my VPN connection back to the home office on occasion, using a Nortel VPN client. The logs show:
4/2/2013 9:58:26.883 [ENGS] -I-VerifyServerIsAlive: ISAKMP had traffic (after keepalive).
4/2/2013 9:58:27.383 [ENGS] -I-VerifyServerIsAlive: Set receivedData FALSE.
4/2/2013 9:58:28.555 [ENGS] -I-Protocol not recognized - message dropped.
4/2/2013 9:58:44.586 [ENGS] -I-Protocol not recognized - message dropped.
[code]....
the common fault seems to be DynamicDnsCleanup causing the trouble.(causes routing table to change, knocking down the VPN....) Is this a function occurring in the router? I can't find search results showing so.

I downloaded and upgraded my router to the 3.0.03 firmware. Downloaded the bin file, saved the config, upgraded firmware, reset router and restored configuration. Everything went ok but router still shows 3.0.02 firmware. ?I have a camera system on the network routed through two opened ports on the router. Everything works fine. The camera system does not store any logs relative to remote access. I would like to log any incoming traffic on the camera open ports. Is there a way to do this on this router?

My WRT160Nv3 router responds to ICMP (ping), even though I have "Filter Anonymous Internet Requests" enabled. I toggled it off and on to see if that made a difference, but no luck.I am pinging it from the "outside", through the WWW, so it's not from inside the LAN..

All of a sudden, I could not connect to the Internet. I kept getting error message "Can't connect to DNS server", or similar. I have an ATT/Yahoo account, Speed stream 5360 Modem and WRT160Nv3 router. All was working well until yesterday. I was finally able to speak to an ATT Tech today, and he guided me through several troubleshooting actions and we were finally able to connect just using the modem. But when I connect the router, the network works, but I can't connect to the Internet. If I disconnect the router, I can access the Internet. None of my settings has changed. I saved router settings on my computer, and have compared them; all the same. The tech finally said it could be the blue cable from router to computer, or the router. So I'm hoping for troubleshooting before I buy another cable and/or router.

It worked fine for my PC's and Xbox, but I had disconnected my router for a while, plugged it back in and my xbox simply cannot receive any connection. I should also note that I use an ethernet cord (I don't use it wirelessly) and it has nothing to do with the ethernet cord (I've tried several). Using network magic, it does confirm that a connection to the game console and the router.I've looked through the forums and all of what I found, are NAT problems/issues or fixing a wireless issue, but not an issue when using an ehternet cord.

WRT160Nv3 Firmware Version: v3.0.02
I've been using Linksys for years but the last two routers I have purchased have been very problematic.
- My router hasn't had this problem before. The other day I was downloading 4 games at a time from STEAM, when I got home from work I found that my router had completely gone back to factory settings. So I configured my DSL PPPoE, SSID, Wireless Security (WPA) changed the default admin PW and about 20 minutes later it was back to factory again.
I've done a "hard" reset and reconfigured and still it resets itself. What's also upsetting is this completely opens my network up to ANYONE when this happens...
So far in the past 2 days I have (now using a backup restore file) re-configured the device 10 times.
The only thing I can think of is that I just got Windows 7 the same day this started happening. I thought it could be STEAM as well so right now I have STEAM closed to see if it resets while it isn't running.
Could TOO much demand on the router cause it to completely reset itself to factory config?? Seems to me like there's a huge firmware or hardware problem here.
I have other friends and even co-workers that also have problems galore with their Linksys products...No other router it seems has as MANY issues as Linksys. Hat to say it but my next purchase most likely will not be another one of their products. This just shouldn't be happening.

today I got up and discovered that my WRT160Nv3 router has resetted to factory defaults itself, the name of the Wifi network was "linksys" and all configurations were the defaults...
That's normal? This is the first time it happens.

I have been using this router for quite some time, with a setup like.. Cable Modem ==> Vonage ==> WRT160Nv3 ==> PC. It has been working very fine for all these years (6), but now I hear static disturbances in my phone calls, and so I decided to do port forwarding for the vonage device, to minimize the noise. This device uses a static ip address of 192.168.15.1, and in the Linksys software, I am not able to use any ip addresses other than "192.168.1.*" in the port forwarding page.

I have a WRT160Nv3 router connected to a CM100 modem. I noticed that over time, perhaps a day or more, the connection speed slows. Usually, unplugging the router for a while then starting it up again restores the speed as per my cable company's speed test. I have called the cable company and their tech support reports a good signal to the house.

I have set the RV042 up for QuickVPN access. The router config recommends turning HTTPS on in the firewall when using QuickVPN. The side effect to this is any web browser throws me certificate errors and warns me not to continue logging in to the router's config. How do I fix this so the browser does not throw these messages?
Router is Linksys-branded, using latest firmware for this hardware (1.3.13.02-tm)

I am directly plugged into the router on my computer, and it is used wireless for the rest of the computers in the house. Frequently (3-4 times a day usually, sometimes more like every 20 mins, other days not at all), the router and Network Magic will tell me my computer has lost internet connection, and browsers and any program I try to start won't be able to connect to the internet. However, I know the connection is still live because any program that was running and accessing the internet beforehand (multi player games and instant messaging programs, for example) still run fine with their connection and I can continue to play or chat online until I close that program.
Trying the 'Repair Connection' on network magic doesn't work, but unplugging and replugging the power cable to the router fixes the issue(again, so I know it's the router and not the internet)whatever reason the router is deciding to tell me it's not active and refuse access to the internet for new programs when existing connections don't show any problems.
