Feb 2, 2013I tried to upgrade firmware (I entered my model number WRT54G and hardware version 2 into Cisco menu and downloded the upgrade file they provided. My version was v2.02.7, downloded file FW_WRT54Gv4_4.21.5.000_20120220.bin . After I run the upgrade it said upgrade failed. After that I can't connect to internet and can't access the router. I tried to reset it and unplug it- no luck. From my PC control panel I see local area connections status connected, but as I said, it does not connect to Internet.

Aug 24, 2011I just bought a Cisco E4200 (from someone on Ebay, so returning is probably not an option). I was in the process of setting it up when it wanted to do a Router Update. Unfortunately, it did not specifically say to not do it WIRELESS. We had a disconnection in the upgrade process. Now the Power light just blinks. I can ping it from a hard-wired PC, but cannot get to the Administration Web page to retry the firmware update (I did download it from the site). Also Cisco Connect cannot connect to the router.
Oh Yes, I have tried holding reset button for 30 seconds, unplugging for 30 seconds, and replugging in the router. I do not get any different results.

I had it all working fine, then I wanted to upgrade the firmware. The original firmware was 3-14-4. I downloaded and applied the 3-15-4 firmware. Now when it powers on the power light is on all the time. Immediately the sys, 4, 3, 2, 1, Internet, usb and wps lights flash once. Then about 5 seconds later the 4, 3, 2, 1 & Internet lights flash once, then a second later the cycle starts again. When I connect it to the PC it starts to make a connection on the NIC, but then the router resets. Model: TL-WR1042ND, Ver 1.3 . Is there a way to reset the firmware or get it working again?

Hardware is E1000 v2 according to sticker on back.The firmware update failed (no reason given) and the router now hangs in limbo where all it does is flashing the power LED.I set my PC to 19?2.168.1.2 and TFTP'd the firmware over to 192.168.1.1 - no errors reported and 192.168.1.1 is pingable. Held reset for 30s, then powered down the router for another 30s. On power-up the router still flashes the power LED.

I can get to the login page on 192.168.1.1, after i enter the admin password the next page doesn't load. It keeps showing 'Waiting' at the center of the page forever.. I have tried to do the 30/30/30 reset to no avail, i tried to do tftp downgrade to older firmware version but the tftp boot doesn't even start. Jul 31, 2011I had issues with my router incorrectly resolving URLs. For example, going to facebook.com would gtive me a "wiki does not exist" message. Pinging facebook.com would give me an IP that belongs to wikipedia. The answer was SUPPOSED to be upgrading to v3.0.03.I upgraded and now my router WILL NOT connect to my DSL modem. Oh, it says it's connected and shows the correct IP address for my DSL modem but the gateway is showing 0.0.0.0. Direct connection to my PC works just fine.I have cycled the power on both the router and the DSL modem several times. The DSL modem is working just fine. I have done several IP release/renew on the router. I have reset the router. To no avail. This firmware update (which completed successfully) seems to have killed my routers ability to communitcate with the internet.
