I installed dd-wrt latest for this router but it wont show any connections to the ports.  I can connect to the router with my internet port connected to the computer but that is it.  I tried connecting the modem to a port connection and it showed connected.  I'm confused as the firmware loaded fine.  May be I went over my abilities which is usually the case.

That didn't work. But even if I removed the computer (by mistake) I don't see why when she goes to log in to the wifi account, she can't just type in the password.how to add a new computer to the wifi WRT160Nv3?

4/2/2013 9:58:44.586 [ENGS] -I-Protocol not recognized - message dropped.

the common fault seems to be DynamicDnsCleanup causing the trouble.(causes routing table to change, knocking down the VPN....) Is this a function occurring in the router? I can't find search results showing so.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT160Nv3 Can't Connect To DNS Server

Jan 13, 2012

All of a sudden, I could not connect to the Internet. I kept getting error message "Can't connect to DNS server", or similar. I have an ATT/Yahoo account, Speed stream 5360 Modem and WRT160Nv3 router. All was working well until yesterday. I was finally able to speak to an ATT Tech today, and he guided me through several troubleshooting actions and we were finally able to connect just using the modem. But when I connect the router, the network works, but I can't connect to the Internet. If I disconnect the router, I can access the Internet. None of my settings has changed. I saved router settings on my computer, and have compared them; all the same. The tech finally said it could be the blue cable from router to computer, or the router. So I'm hoping for troubleshooting before I buy another cable and/or router.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT160Nv3 Constantly Resetting To Factory Defaults?

Jan 9, 2010

WRT160Nv3 Firmware Version: v3.0.02

I've been using Linksys for years but the last two routers I have purchased have been very problematic.

- My router hasn't had this problem before. The other day I was downloading 4 games at a time from STEAM, when I got home from work I found that my router had completely gone back to factory settings.  So I configured my DSL PPPoE, SSID, Wireless Security (WPA) changed the default admin PW and about 20 minutes later it was back to factory again.

I've done a "hard" reset and reconfigured and still it resets itself. What's also upsetting is this completely opens my network up to ANYONE when this happens...

So far in the past 2 days I have (now using a backup restore file) re-configured the device 10 times.

The only thing I can think of is that I just got Windows 7 the same day this started happening. I thought it could be STEAM as well so right now I have STEAM closed to see if it resets while it isn't running.

Could TOO much demand on the router cause it to completely reset itself to factory config?? Seems to me like there's a huge firmware or hardware problem here.

I have other friends and even co-workers that also have problems galore with their Linksys products...No other router it seems has as MANY issues as Linksys. Hat to say it but my next purchase most likely will not be another one of their products. This just shouldn't be happening.

Cable Modem ==> Vonage ==> WRT160Nv3 ==> PC.  It has been working very fine for all these years (6), but now I hear static disturbances in my phone calls, and so I decided to do port forwarding for the vonage device, to minimize the noise.  This device uses a static ip address of 192.168.15.1, and in the Linksys software, I am not able to use any ip addresses other than "192.168.1.*" in the port forwarding page.

I will click Continue, which takes me to...- 404 Error/Page Not Found Error: After the Certificate error mentioned above, this happens. Mostly to YouTube. It will stay like this for a few hours. I've cleared cache, rebooted, etc. etc. Nothing works.- Images turn into little blue boxes with a question mark in them. **When this happens, it's an indication that a Certificate box will pop up out of the blue.- Even on Google.com, it will say: Invalid URLThe requested URL "/", is invalid.Reference #9.df260e6b.1336506889.420cf4fSo what can I do? Linksys Wireless Router :: E1200 - Client List Will Not Display

May 23, 2011

I picked up an E1200 and set it up successfully.  I am using wireless MAC filtering, and decided to pull up the list of connected wireless clients (Wireless >> Wireless MAC Filter >> push "Wireless Client List" button).Immediately after this the Web UI of the E1200 becomes inaccessible.  It still routes traffic, and the router remains pingable, but it will not allow access to the Web UI for several minutes.  The error that appears upon attempt to access the Web UI during this time window is similar to the above, but reads "Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): The server refused the connection."

I have tried this in Google Chrome, Firefox 4, and MSIE on two separate computers.  Each browser displays the error a bit differently (MSIE, for example, just says it can't display the page and gives no further detail) but the net results are always the same.  I have tried resetting the device to factory defaults in addition to re-downloading the firmware from the Cisco/Linksys website and installing it.  No improvement.

I have also noted that the Log (Administration >> Log; and yes, I have it enabled) doesn't appear to be picking up anything at all.  In fact, the Security log, which supposedly (according to the Help) "displays the login information for the Router’s browser-based utility," is also blank.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 - Few Seconds For Web Interface To Display

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT160N Doesn't Display Version Number On Bottom

Jul 2, 2011

My router is the WRT160N, and it doesn't display the version number on the bottom which according to your website means my router is a VERSION 1.SO, why is it that my router says it has:

Firmware Version: v1.53.0    Dec 19, 2007
 And the latest firmware is
 Firmware 11/08/2010 Ver.1.02.11

That looks like an EARLIER firmware version to me judging by the firmware version yet it is dated later.  **bleep**.  If you want, I can upload a photo of my router's model no. for all to see.My question is, am I safe to 'upgrade' to this 'earlier but dated later' firmware version or not?  Why is mine showing as having a later version.

Cisco WAN :: 5520 - Active / Passive ASA With Redundant ISP Connections

Apr 25, 2012

Currently we are using a single connection to our ISP and in the coming months will be moving to a two seperate connections (to same ISP). In our current setup we utilize active/passive ASA's (5520, single context) and would like to utilize that going forward as well, the reason being is our DMZ's all hang off of these ASA's and we have fiber connectivity between our datacenters. Our main datacenter and DR Datacenter are basically one big LAN with fiber between them, so we have our DMZ networks at both locations currently with both terminating in our ASA's. That way if the ASA at our current site fails the DMZ's are still accessible via the secondary firewall at our DR facility.
