I have a wrt160n v1 that stopped working after a power outage. The power light stays solid and I cannot reset the device with the reset button, power cycle, and I cannot access the user interface at 192.168.1.1. Is it bricked? It doesn't show up on my wireless network and when I try to access it via ethernet cable it shows up as an unidentified network with no network access

I was unable to access the web admin on my WRT160n v3 w/ latest firmware this morning. Reset config to defaults & was able to get in. Enabled HTTPS access & disabled HTTP access & was right back where I started; reset to defaults again & left both boxes checked. Can access via HTTP, but HTTPS requests get refused/reset.
The reason I needed access was that when I booted up my laptop this morning, my wireless card wasn't picking up an IP address via WIFI, only worked via ethernet, so I need to see what was going on there — several reboots of the router didn't fix, nor has it fixed the HTTPS access problem described above.

I am using the x3000 as a modem and router, and I managed to set up the device yesterday through the web interface (192.168.1.1).However, after less than 24 hours of continuous usage, I cannot access the interface for some odd reason. I tried using the disk that came with the device but the software reports as if I am not connected to the router. I tried pinging 192.168.1.1 and I get >1 ms so that confirms the device is active and responsive.

When I click on "DHCP Reservation" button in the web interface of the E3000 I don't see any information about the current devices and the reservation list. This problem occurs when my sattelite reciever tries to get an IP address from the DHCP.the name of the receiver is "dream box" (no special characters).I didn't have any problem in the past with my previous router (3COM)Since there are error messages in the page (screenshot is attached), I've tried to use different browsers but the result was the same (Firefox, Safari, IE 8)

I am not able to access the web interface of the router. No, i am not using cisco cloud or smartlink .. yes, it has the latest firmware (Ver.1.0.14.129982).Yes, I might be able to get to it if i shut down the router and turn it on again a few minutes later, but the problem is.. why? why do i have to interrupt connections and not have internet to log into the admin web interface of this device? Is there a known problem with it that makes the webservice go down?.. or to take extremely long to respond and thus the browser to quit on it throwing an error?

For reasons I will explain in a separate thread, following a firmware upgrade to version 2.00.21, I am no longer able to connect to my WRT300N using the web interface. The device seems to be working fine (but for the lack of the web config access.) I'm loathe to leave it "inaccessible" and would like to use the Setup CD-ROM described in the manuals to connect directly to the device to see if I can fix the problem.
I have been through my "filing system" (read "junk room") to try to find the original device packaging, wherein I am sure I would find the original CD-ROM. Is there anywhere I can download an image of the original Linksys Setup CD-ROM for the WRT300N version 2.0 device?

I took one and a half hours to get everything set up, I've got a PPoE connection, my problem is that ever since I entered the administration interface each and every page takes 2-5 minutes to load, it's absurdly slow, also, when trying to setup my WiFi, it timed out several times, I updated the router to the latest firmware, the same issue, it took me 4-5 retries to get WiFi set up properly. Sometimes navigating from page to page is quicker, 30-40seconds, but still those are some big times.
Is this normal behavior or do I have a hardware problem and I need to take it back and request a new one?
Mention: I am wired from a laptop, all the lights are blue, blinking nicely.

I have a E4200 setup for 2.4 & 5G running the latest firmware. When I connect to the router wireless 192.168.1.1 and log in, it takes a few seconds for the web interface to display. Same happens when switching to the different config tabs. Is there any reason for this? I would think it would be immediate but it takes anywhere from 3-5 seconds for IE9 to respond.

I have verizon fios business line with 5 static IP addresses and am configured for ethernet wan. I can use EA6500 as the router instead of using Verizon's own router, however I can't figure out how to assign all 5 static IP addresses on internet interface. I have already assigned first IP to internet interface but don't see a way to add more IPs either in internet interface or from NAT section where I can create static NAT.
Is this even possible with EA6500? If so, how?

I have the Cisco Linksys EA4500 router. It was set up to use the Cisco Cloud Connect. This interface is horrible. I can be online and not access my router through ciscocloudconnect.com or 192.168.1.1 while I am on my network. How is this possible? I used to have the WRTG54 router and that interface was perfect. How can I switch back to that interface with the EA4500?Cisco Linksys really should have tested their cloud more thoroughly before rolling it out to the public.

Just upgraded my E4200 to firmware 1.0.03 (from 1.0.01). I have some new issues, questions, and some outstanding issues.
1) Web interface over https is now painfully slow.
2) Does DDNS work in bridge mode? DynDNS allows the sending of an update without an IP address, so it should be able to work.
3) Does accessing the management interface in bridge mode count as local or remote?
4) I'd really like to be able to get WOL working through the router. I managed to create a static DHCP reservation for 192.168.1.254 to ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff, but I don't think the router added that entry to the ARP table, is there any way to do this.
(I think have WOL forwarded to 192.168.1.254). 5) Should the router be providing some local dns hostnames? For example I have the device name set up in the local network setup, but it won't resolve. Similar for connected devices, especially those with with a DHCP reservation. 6) In bridge mode, does it matter which port is used to connect to the other network device? Does it have to be the WAN port?

Any chance of one or preferably both of these before I flash the router to a more competent firmware?Rather ridiculous that there's no interface counters and no SNMP server. I prefer keeping stock firmware where possible but I need this functionality, it really isn't a big ask. That said I have an E4200 v1, which already looks like abandonware given it's been 6 months since the last firmware update - not amused and no intention of swapping a high performance router for one that sacrifices performance for better NAS functionality.

how to get at the configuration interface for the "built-in" Twonky server on the E4200.Specifically, I'm trying to figure out how to get to the "clients.db" file and the area of the UI where I can configure the receiver settings. I'm getting the dreaded "unknown file format" message when streaming mp4 files to my Samsung BD-C6500 bluray player. Installing Twonky on my laptop and working with the problematic files has shown that the solution is a simple matter for BD-C6500 understand how the files are encoded.

I just installed my new Cisco E3000 and configured it over the HTTP interface, as I have on previous routers. I am unable to find any setting for the "Guest" wireless network (outbound internet only), or the Parental controls. Both of these are features of interest, and they're simply not listed in any of the web-based settings.
Puzzled, I did a Factory Reset and configured it via the Cisco Connect instead.. this had the Guest feature and Parental controls, but none of the other features I need, like QOS, or Port Forwarding, or DHCP disable.
It seems like the Web interface only configures some settings, and the Cisco Connect configures other settings, but I can't use them both.
Where does one set up the additional password for Guest access? Other than this, the router works fine on 2.4 & 5 GHz, nice..

I recently bought a Cisco E2500 for work, and after setting the router to Bridge Mode, I am unable to access the router web interface. I tried both the old IP address (192.168.1.1) and the IP address that I entered when I was configuring Bridge mode, but I couldn't get either to work. I have always tried resetting the switch to factory defaults and trying again to make sure I didn't type anything wrong, but to no avail. The wireless and everything works as it should, I just can't get back into the router to change any of my settings.

I purchased this Router about 2 weeks ago as a phased upgrade of our Home Network, primarily to enhance media streaming. It has the latest firmware preinstalled from the factory. Prior to the purchase and installation of the EA4500 Router I replaced my old Motorola SurfBoard SB6120 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem with a Motorola SurfBoard SB6141 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. My old Linksys E2000 Router worked perfectly with the SB6141, with the exception that the E2000 wasn’t IPv6 enabled, but does have 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet (RJ-45) and Internet ports.
The EA4500 has been installed for about 10 days and seems to have improved local network speeds and I don’t seem to be having any Internet connectivity issues. However, there are some disturbing issues with the EA4500 and the AE3000 I purchased. There are 11 devices connected through the Router; a Dell Desktop (wireless with the AE3000), a Dell Desktop (Ethernet), a Dell Laptop (wireless), 2 Canon Printers (1 Ethernet and 1 Wireless), 2 Western Digital 1TB MyBookLive Network Drives (both Ethernet), a WD TV Live Streaming Media Player (wireless), an Apple TV media player (wireless), an iPad (wireless), and an Android Smartphone (wireless).
Issue 1 – The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi interface appears to be unreliable at times!!! I’ve read about this problem here on the Community involving the EA6500, so I don’t know if this is a Linksys Server issue, as suggested in a few responses, or a bug in the Router firmware, or defective hardware. However, when the interface locks up, it can’t be accessed from a wireless or wired connection. Usually, powering down the Router and then powering it back up and restart will allow it to function again. However, at times before the interface completely locks up it shows either just a white screen or the security screen will show no firewall features enabled. This is a little scary, so I’ll do a complete reset and setup; this is becoming a pain in the rear! Is there any hope for this being fixed, in this Router, not the next generation?
Issue 2 - All of my network devices show up in the Router’s Device List. Except for the Apple devices they also show up, when they are online, in Windows 7 Explorer under Network and when you click on Network they are correctly displayed as Computers, Media Devices, Network Infrastructure, or Storage. However, when you click on “Open Network and Sharing Center” and then click on “See Full Map”; it fails with the response “Windows cannot create the network map. Responses from other devices on the network are delayed or there is an incompatible router on the network”; no device map is shown. When I follow the link for more information, the only thing that stands out is “A device on the network, such as a hub or switch, is not working properly or is not compatible with the Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) protocol, which Windows uses to create the map. To fix this problem, disable the device, turn it off, or remove it from your network”. All of my network devices showed up on the Network Map with the old E2000. This issue is the same on all of my computers, either wired or wireless.
I’m having with the EA4500 and the AE3000; they are both probably going back to Amazon.

All traffic from the inside network must go through one of the firewalls to get out through the router and similarly there is a dmz on one of the firewalls.I am trying to make sure the router is fully hardened.Should I apply an access list on the outside interface of the router along with the access list for management access?

I cant access the advanced user interface web page through the IP address 192.168.2.1. It's a belkin N router that worked for the first few days but now we can't access the Internet wirelessly if we shut the laptop down and reboot. Belkin talked me through every possible way to connect to AUI but no joy. Even tried using firefox, which worked once but we then lost connection again. Getting frustrated now. May take router back to the shop as it's only ten days old.

I have set up access restriction times for my son (we have wireless access for all systems). I use the MAC address on his systems. Xbox, Kindle Fire and his Laptop. The MAC address are Correct. Here is the problem:
I set the "allow" and times from 6pm - 11:00 pm (while on xmas vacation) - the system works for a while he is shut off as i would like but....
After a period of time the entire house goes off line. I have to reboot the power on e2000 router and then disable the access restrictions. System then works. Problem is repeatable. What is the deal. I have updated firmware already. Otherwise the system works great. Never dies. Just when i set access restricions for a SPECIFIC time it kills entiore houese. BTW i can deny him outright 24/7 and the system idsables his access fine. Its just when i set specific times

I've been trying to configure a TP-Link L-WR740N to act as an access point using the instructions here as a guide. As stated in the guide, I've been changing the IP address of the TP-Link router to a new address that lies outwith the pool of available DHCP addresses in my combined modem/router but with less than resounding success. After rebooting the TP-Link router, I am unable to access the set-up interface - the newly allocated IP address doesn't work, neither does the original IP address work. What is happening here? If I change the IP address to one that lies within the DHCP pool and reboot, I can access it ok with the new address. However, that obviously clashes with the set-up instructions.

After I've upgraded software to the v7.3 and applied AP-SSO it made imposible to access the controller's gui via Service-port. So we tried to access it by management-port, but there is some problem too. It is not working from another subnets. But default gateway on management vlan is set correctly and I even tried to turn of all acl's on switch. WLC is only accessible from the same network. But at the same time wlc is replying on ping fine. All other protocols cannot connect to the controller.
