I have a wrt160n v1 that stopped working after a power outage. The power light stays solid and I cannot reset the device with the reset button, power cycle, and I cannot access the user interface at 192.168.1.1. Is it bricked? It doesn't show up on my wireless network and when I try to access it via ethernet cable it shows up as an unidentified network with no network access
View 2 RepliesI was unable to access the web admin on my WRT160n v3 w/ latest firmware this morning. Reset config to defaults & was able to get in. Enabled HTTPS access & disabled HTTP access & was right back where I started; reset to defaults again & left both boxes checked. Can access via HTTP, but HTTPS requests get refused/reset.
The reason I needed access was that when I booted up my laptop this morning, my wireless card wasn't picking up an IP address via WIFI, only worked via ethernet, so I need to see what was going on there — several reboots of the router didn't fix, nor has it fixed the HTTPS access problem described above.
I cant access the advanced user interface web page through the IP address 192.168.2.1. It's a belkin N router that worked for the first few days but now we can't access the Internet wirelessly if we shut the laptop down and reboot. Belkin talked me through every possible way to connect to AUI but no joy. Even tried using firefox, which worked once but we then lost connection again. Getting frustrated now. May take router back to the shop as it's only ten days old.

The newer equipment is capable of supporting WPA2, the older is not. I would like the benefits of WPA2, but still would like to at times be able to use the older equipment.My solution was to use a WRT160N v2 router that I had as an access point and it also gives me switch capabilities for wired systems as the FIOS router in on a different floor than the Linksys router. Wired access works just fine and the wireless worked fine until just recently.Since both routers have the same default IP addresses I changed the Linksys to a different static IP and turned off DHCP. I left all of the other defaults the same. I set up the Linksys for WEP and created the key for security. Everything worked fine for the better part of a year, but recently I am having problems where some of the computers cannot find the network or find it then lose connection.

I have a switch attached to the router and have the 160 attached to the switch. I can ping and access the 160, however there signal strength has not changed and is still extremely low. Our LAN uses IP address in the range 10 with subnet 255.0.0.0, so I need to put the access point ino this subnet. With an RDP app, i can access my work network from multiple public locations from my iPad. At home, on my laptop, I start the cisco client then use the windows rdp, presto i'm in my work network. At home on my iPad I can activate the VPN, but I can not connect with rdp. I spoke with linksys support tonight they had me add port 3389 to port range triggering and disable the firewall on the home router. This didn't solve the problem. I have spent approximately 8 hours troubleshooting the other 2 only to be told they're defective. So, I got a new one. Now, this one keeps cutting in and out. I want as my iPhone constantly switches from 3G to wifi on and over every minute. It really ticks me off! What can I do to fix this? This is a different issue than the original one (very slow) and 2nd (no signal). It's disappointing for a $90 router to do this. I also see the wireless icon on the router flash.
