What is the most recommended set up for my routers? I have 5 routers, 1 linksys ea4500 which will be my main, and 4 linksys e2500 as my access points... what i want is that they are all in the same network and only one ssid? Is it possible? what will be my wiring connections? can it be on series or all routers connected to 1 main router?

Scenario:
- Having two Internet Service Provider with two ASN
- Having one idenpendant IPv4 public address
- Having two Internet Cisco Router e.g. 2811
- Having two Cisco ASA Firewall e.g. 5510
I have two 5505's facing each other over 10meg dsl internet links with slow up links, I think that the uplink is around 768K and down is 10meg.Behind each ASA on each end sits a pbx they are using H.323 point to point trunk for connectivity to talk to each other one the g.729 codec. I've read a little on Qos and I'm wondering if GRE over IPSecis the way to configure this setup. I'm needing recomendations. There are is no qos at present configured and its not working well at times. There are only 5 phones at the remote site and 5 computers. The remote end only supports 3 vlans as well. I'm new to ASA.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSlingbox no longer uses software, but is now web based. I got a new computer and when I go to the site it can't locate my slingbox on their network.
When I go to the site and sign in, it loads the application but then scolls as it looks for my box on the network until it times out. Slingbox directory shows my slingbox, but it says unconfigured.
I called tech support, where I was told my 90 days for free support had expired 2 weeks ago. The port forwarding instructions I found on the internet made references to going into the router and selecting port range forwarding and have start and end port of 5100 and then enable that port.
When I go to support on the slingmedia page, it displays my slingbox with Slingbox status alert, software warning. Instructions state go to slingmedia site and look for update, but if my box is not on thier directory, I can't download update.

I can't connect to my setup page [url]... I get to the page that says..."There is a problem with this website's security certificate." Then I click the "continue to this website (not recommended). After this it will not connect

Firefox says "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."
Internet still works. PC is connected directly to router. Tried different port on router. Tried installing CiscoConnect.E2500.1.4.11299.0,0, but it fails saying there is no router connected to PC. Like I said I am on the PC now, wired to router and have internet access via cable modem connected to router. I can see my ireless printer on the network also..

I noticed that the speed my computers report that they are connected to the wireless network connection is now 144.5 mps, versus 270 mps with the WRT300N. There is no change in location of the devices or computers. The computers use a WUSB300N adapter.Is there a setting or setup that needs to be changed?

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhere i am from, the houses are made of conrete. so obviously my wi-fi degrades. i currently have 1 basic wireless g linksys router set up, in my bedroom as thats where the primarry devices are. there is a portion of the house where the signal is non existant and i want to set up a 2nd wireless router for that area to have signal. its a fairly large house with 4 bedrooms.here is a breakdown of the device priority:
The main room (my room, east end of house)
Gaming PC (gaming, downloading, netflix streaming) non wireless
Wife's Laptop (occasional streaming, general internet surfing)
PS3 (gaming and netflix streaming)

I am trying to set up a desktop computer to have a wireless usb adapter running so I can connect to the Wireless-G Broadband Router. When I run the setup CD for the wireless usb adapter it asks me to push the Wi-Fi Protected Setup Button on the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router.
I have looked at the Linksys router found an obscure button on the front with the Cisco Systems Copyright logo on it. I pushed this but the wireless usb adapter failed to locate the wireless network. There is also another button on the back of the Linksys Router that is a Reset button.
Is there a way to set up Quick VPN on the RV120W without changing the internal subnet? I have just taken over responsibility for a network and I don't know all of the nooks and crannies yet, so I'd rather not change the internal sub net. I've tried setting up a user then changing the LAN settings afterward, but it automatically removed the VPN user when I did so.

No change in the IP Address. I don't know what to do at all. My other question wouldd be, what do I have to type in the boxes. Such as for password, do I type in the TZO Key.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIm having problems with setting up my cisco WAP4410N as a repeater to extend the signal of cisco E2500.It works fine when there is no password to be set on both devices. But when either one of these devices had beenset a password on it, then WAP4410N failed to extend the signal of E2500.
I tried steps as below:
1. Same password type in WAP4410N and E2500.
2. Different password type in WAP4410N and E2500.
3. Set password in WAP4410N ONLY.
4. Set password in E2500 ONLY.
All steps above makes WAP4410N fail to extend the signal range of E2500. WAP4410N successfully works as a repeater to extend the signal of E2500 when there is no password to be set on both devices.
I'm currently setting the MAC address filtering for my Linksys E2500 router. I have about 20 devices which i'm allowing to access my router, so i keyed in the MAC addresses into the config page and save setting. But only 16 addresses are registered, the rest refused to register no matter how many times i key in, it just reset back to 00:00:00:00:00:00 after i click on save setting.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI previously entered in settings for the "Static DNS" 1 through 3 (using ip addresses from OpenDNS and one from Google DNS).
I want to remove these so the router reverts to using the DNS allocated to it by the ADSL modem (which will likely be the IP of the modem, which then forwards the requests to the DNS from the ISP).But I can't clear the Static DNS settings. I have to put in 0.0.0.0 but the last zero is not accessed. I get the error: The value is out of range [1 - 254].So I end up with 0.0.0.1 and then all Internet access is lost on the computers because they are being given a bad DNS IP.
How can I reset the static DNS ip address back to 0.0.0.0 ?
I am trying to setup to wireless routers onto one network. One router is the ES4500 the other is the Apple Time Capsule. The apartment I am in has thick walls and because of this, there are some wifi gaps. Trying to set the second router in a different room to act as a wireless bridge/access point for the first router.

Ideally, I'd like to stream my media content from the desktop to my PS3. I don't know if it's a bandwidth issue or my old router, but streaming non-HD movies would buffer like crazy. My RoadRunner connection is about 25 mbps down/1 mbps up. Not sure if the upload bandwidth is the culprit. I know there's not a huge use for 1000M WAN, but I guess I was looking towards the future. Am I overcompensating on the WiFi? My desktop has gigabit port.url...
I am currently at my parents house. They have a internet/phone package with Talk Talk, with the free D-Link DSL-2680 router (which is located at the front of the house). I've run a speed test on this and get almost 6Mbps download on the wired desktop.If I bring my laptop into the room and try it wirelessly I am getting the same sort of speed. However, if I walk 10 meters into the back of the house, I go down to 0.3Mbps.I am wanting my parents to be able to use their iPad in the living room at the back of the house as well as they could use their wired desktop in the front of the house.Is the D-Link DSL-2680 good enough? Do I need a wireless extender/bridge/whatever?
