So I keep running into an issue with my internet connection. My router and connection work no problem, until I try to update my video card drivers or even my tablet drivers. Once I install those drivers, The next boot up my computer has no internet connection, and it says the network driver has failed. I can't seem to recover internet connection until I do a system restore, then all is well. My netgear WGR614v10 is up to date, on factory settings.
I have a netgear router model wgr614v10 and a ATT motorola modem. I've been trying everything to open my nat so i can get my xbox live to work better. I've tried portforwarding, enabling UPnP, enabling DHCP, and more.
I have 3 comps, a desktop and two laptops. Desktop pc has a Netgear WGR614v10 router w/ a wireless connection to a laptop. I'm trying to get the 3rd to connect and will not .. What steps do I take to connect that one? I have a CAT5e cable connecting from one laptop to the one that will not connect, it says it connected but there is no globe over the tv set icons on the 3rd one.
Every day for the past week my Internet access goes down. I have a netgear router connected to Comcast modem. I have to reset the modem then the router constantly and it gets irritating. I called comcast and they say reset them. But why should I have to constantly reset.... Sometimes I just ignore it and it comes back up later... what is going on??
I am wanting to get a new router for gaming, because the one I have is really bad in my opinion.. I got this one at the time I bought it cause I needed one really fast.Setup:Time Warner Cable 30Mbps Down 1Mbps Up (In speed test I get this):
Killer 2100 Network Card (Latest FirmWare) TCP Optimizer System Mechanic Pro Network Optimizer
*I don't know if the TCP and System mechanic did anything or not to my network stacks/registry but that could be a possibility*

CAT5E and CAT 6 Cables... Would having two types in the same connection make the connection weird?I just want to really make my connection overall sufficient for gaming.. I don't want to worry about lag coming from client side at all.
1. I lose connection a lot, and I doubt it's on Time Warner's end cause I have called them multiple times about this..
2. I have to power cycle a lot with this router.
3. The Time Warner Cable people came out and put in new cable lines and connectors, so I doubt it's the cable lines.
4. No I don't suck at gaming, I am a pro E-sports athlete so I am very good I am just concerned about client side network lag, cause even on perfect registration servers from Eoreality that have a dedicated server boxes, I still get updated a lot... I have times where I shoot and I get the kill, and other where I know I should have gotten them?
Yesterday everything was working fine, but when I got home today I couldn't connect to my router. I tried connecting on my computer, my mac, and my netbook ALL couldn't even find the SSID. I directly connected my mac and netbook to my modem and was able to connect to the internet, so I know it's not an ISP problem. I then re-connected the WAN cord from my modem to the back of my Netgear Wireless-G Router WGR614V10. All the lights come on but I still can't find the router when I tried connecting wirelessly. When I connect an Ethernet cord to a LAN port on the router, I can get connection.
my netgear wireless modem model - wgr614 v10. When I connect router to PC via LAN cable the wifi speed on my mobile goes to around 8MBPS and as soon as I disconnect LAN cable from PC it went down to almost 0. In short wifi only working fine when LAN is connected to my PC . I have selected channel 11 and Mode upto 54 MBPS and WPA-PSK key. My region is North America and latest firmware is available on my router. As recommended by some netgear support representative I changed the Fragmentation Length and CTS/RTS Threshold to 2304 but the problem is still there. What I noticed after that is as soon as I remove the LAN cable from my PC the wireless network start showing me no Internet access. And as soon as I insert LAN cable again to my PC wifi start working.
What I need is a net gear n300 wireless usb adapter driver that works for linux, windows 98, windows 982nd edition and windows xp because i'm switching this computer to windows xp and i need a solid internet connection throughout the entire process or a way to switch my computer to windows xp with out the internet conection like a download of the windows xp instalation file.
I am replacing a Netgear wireless router (WGR614v10) with a Cisco WRVS4400N. When I go to set up the device on my Mac, 192.168.1.1 will not open in a browser. Do I have to do the setup on a PC?
I have an Acer AX3400 (windows 7). I'm trying to install wireless router Netgear WNR3500v2. I did not succeed sofar. Do I have to uninstall NVIDIA drivers first?
I have recently moved in a new apartment. At the building there is something like a centralized internet. There is a huge machine which is connected to every apartment of building via a cable modem(Netsys nh-300sp). Here is an image of system. And when I first came to apartment they gave me a username and password which I made login when i firstly opened a page on safari. When I plug in an ethernet cable to my macbook-air it connects and everything s good for a moment then it starts to kick me out randomly and continuously. When I look to Network Diagnostics: ISP is red, internet and network are yellow.I tried also using a manual DHPC address, but then ISP is green but Internet and server are red or yellow. I cant even reach to modems admin panel, maybe because of the system of building.
To start off with, I own the network, and every system connected to it. I run and admin it, so the chances that anyone else has changed anything is essentially zero. This computer has a wired network connection (The issue) and a wireless one. They are connected to two separate networks. A few days ago the wired card stopped getting an IP address from my router, always ended up with a 169 address. Eventually I just disabled it, and installed a PCI network card.
Now what happens is that all works fine for a while, then stops. Suddenly I am "Not connected to network" despite the fact my ip address hasn't changed. I run the network troubleshooter, it tells me the "Gateway is unreachable" Resets the network card, and all is good. Then after a while the network fails again. I did already scan with malwarebytes, and everything is fine as fat as its concerned.
I'm trying to transfer files from my wired desktop to my wireless laptop, and smaller files seem to transfer okay. Whenever I try to transfer a really large file, however, the internet and connectivity totally drops on my desktop (which is giving the file) and causes the laptop to lose the file. The desktop computer stays offline for about 1-2 minutes afterward before it either starts up again on its own or I reset the network adapter. I suppose it's important to note as well that the file transfer can fail at the very beginning, in the middle, or even at the very end, but my desktop computer always loses its connection whenever the interruption happens... but sometimes it can successfully get almost all the way through the file transferI tried following some of the steps in this case to confirm that I can ping and do all that jazz to my laptop and all of the services are running, since our problems seem similar. I've disabled all firewalls as well. However, since one computer is actually wired to the router, I don't think the solution will be quite the same
I recently moved into a new apartment, where our internet connection is shared with neighbors who are currently out of town on vacation. Most of my devices (Phone, Laptop, Girlfriend's laptop etc) will connect just fine to the passworded network we are meant to be on. My desktop however will not. It doesn't even see that it's an available wireless network.
This same computer was seeing/connecting to wireless networks as recently as this morning. It was also seeing another network for a little while with medium signal strength, which it now doesn't see either.
So far, I've restarted a couple of times, done the 'troubleshoot/repair' options on my wireless network icon, and verified that my wireless adapter is indeed on. I've also asked it to update drivers, but despite having no internet connection, it tells me it has the most current versions.
Normally, I would just reset the router as a first step, however because it's in my neighbors house, I don't have that option, however as I mentioned, this likely wouldn't make a difference, since several other devices, including the laptop I'm posting from now, are quite able to recognize and connect to the network in question.
My wireless internet connection on my laptop. The connection seems to work fine on other laptops in the flat. It works on mine too. Then after a short time the internet connection fails and the laptop says it's unable to connect to preffered wireless network, and unable to detect any wireless networks (usually there are others around too). The amount of time before this happens seems to be getting less. I have cheched that the radio switch on the side of the laptop is on.
I am trying to set up a network with my modem (Speedtouch 546T2) and router (Jensen AirLink 89300), but it won't work. No network connection on the laptop (Toshiba) nor the MacBook.Ipconfig /all (when "connected" wireless) on the laptop:In Norwegian, just ask for translation if needed. Don't think it'll be necessary however.

I have updated the router's firmware. Reset both the modem and router as well.
I have fitted a thomson router to my desktop coputer using an ethernet cable and all is working fine. My Sony Vaio laptop recognises the wireless connection but fails to connect at the acquiring network address. I have been into the properties section of the network connection page and am only allowed 8 characters for the network key. But the Network key on the bottom of the modem is longer than 8 digits.
We have a network of over 20 devices, all kinds (windows, android, mac enz...). Everything was going well until one of the mac-users tried to publish his website that contained a movie (at first the movie was 622 MB). If this user presses publish the internet is going away. The website won't publish, waiting doesn't work. While the internet isn't working I went to another pc in the network and started some ping experiments. I can ping any device in the LAN, outside the LAN something strange happens: let's say for 6 seconds it is ok, but then it fails for lets say 20sec, again 6 sec the ping returns ok (45ms), and goes down for a longer period. Eventually it is not coming back. The mac user himself cannot access the internet either. When the publishing is stopped, the internet is back in less than a second.
This problem is recent, and it isn't the first time this user published a video on his own website, on the same host with the same application (iWeb). I asked him to publish his site to a local folder and hand it over to me, I tried to publish it to the same host using my own FTP application (FileZilla), this worked without any problem (I am on the same network). This is what we tried:
- Compressing the video (it is now 26 MB, still not working), we have 2GB space from the host, no limits on filesize. - Publishing the website without the video's, no problem - I turned on logging (debugging level) in the modem/router, no entries at the moment things went wrong... - I called the provider, they claim nothing is wrong at their systems.
So, can the modem be broken? I don't think so because I can use it with far more intensive tasks without going down. One thing is clear, it shouldn't be possible for one computer to block the internet for everybody, so changes in the configuration are needed (I think).
my general internet connectivity with my e4200.I have a new but similar problem today with the same router. After powering down equipment and moving it around, my wired connections all error. Error in that they will not get an IP address nor will they connect to the internet or each other. My wireless connections still work flawlessly.
I tried powering down the devices over night (to avoid any heating issues) and then powering up but the results are the same. I am obviously missing something, and don't really want to start my network from scratch again...
I seem to be struggling to connect more than 4 cameras to my (ISP-supplied) modem/router by Netgear CGD24N via WPS. I'm on my 5th camera now (already have 3x 930L and 1x 942L) but the newest 942L just won't connect to the network at the moment and there's definitely no faults here as I swapped cameras today at the local retailer (and got an A3 942L!).I've even tried connecting the camera to my wireless extender (Netgear WN3000RP) but no luck there.
So far it has only worked twice for short periods of time (enough for me to configure the cameras) but since then I can't actually get it working. I've got a couple of spare wireless routers lying around too and should be receiving a DIR-600 soon (from the Netgear promotion in Australia) which could be useful?
half of my laptop driver are corrupted (network, USB, and sound). I had installed a program called 'motion joy' and play with the software... right after i reboot my laptop, the sound icon and the network icon on the system tray are crossed out. I can see yellow exclamation mark on the drivers icons on device manager.
I made an attempt to roll back those corrupted drivers but nothing happen. Even when i try to update it, it says i had the latest driver. ;( I tried to uninstall the driver but the those driver files at 'system32/driver' are still there. I even tried to run driver CD that comes along with my laptop, and when I run the installer, it states that all the drivers are install.
so bascially now my laptop boot, run program BUT can't access internet , all USB ports are unavailable, and no sound at all.
I recently replaced my harddisk and ever since I've been getting BSOD's whenever I try to watch a video online (no matter what website I'm on). I'm pretty sure it's not my GPU, because I can watch my own videos just fine. It could be the RAM,ause I ran Memtest86+ for 7 passes and it found two errors, but I have no problems playing games. So, I'm thinking it's my network-driver (Realtek) even though I already (re)installed the latest version[CODE]
I've just installed a new hard drive on a Toshiba Satellite L450 and loaded Windows 7 from a disc, but now there is no wireless connection to the internet.I think a network driver is needed, but which one is compatible and most suitable. Also are they free to download and do I need a liceince key
I have 2 IBM Levono R52 1860 Laptops, both are running windows XP Pro, one has Intel PROSet Wireless WiFi that works perfectly. I installed PROSet Wireless on the other one and it won't work. It tells me that the network driver is not installed If I go to C:/programs, etc. the driver is in the folder. in device manager under Network adapters it shows Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet( which won't connect to my WiFi either) and PdaNet Broadband Adapter that will connect it to the net via my phone and a cable??
