Unable To Connect Using Intel Pro / Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection?
Apr 29, 2011Since successfully restoring my laptop to factory settings I have been unable to connect using my Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection.Initially it worked, but after a while it stopped. I have completed several system restores, and the wireless connection works for a few days. On the last occasion (after installing windows updates) I received the dreaded blue screen and have been unable to connect.I am not sure if it is related to installing new windows updates as prior to restoring to factory settings I had no issues with my wireless connection.I am able to connect using the ethernet cable and I am currently able to connect using Pluscom wireless usb adapter.I am using the fujitsu siemens amilo pi 2515 notebook.netgear dg834g router?

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT400N Connection / Unable To Connect To Internet
Apr 5, 2011I have had a problem with my WRT400N wireless Linksys router. Whenever my router restarts or if the DHCP lease expires, I'm unable to connect to internet. During this time I can access the router, but not the internet. Oddly something that seems to "fix" this is if I use my nintendo wii to access my wireless internet at that time, all computers on my network are able to access the internet. However this is annoying to do since this happens once a day from DHCP lease expiring. Using any other computer to attempt to access the internet at this time would be unable to get a connection until I do the "fix" with the Wii. WRT400N

Jul 15, 2012I have a sky router (Netgear DG834GT), which i have connected a secound router to which is a D link DIR-615 (with DD wrt firmware D4).I can get access to the sky router remotely without any issues even when changing the port number. its the Dlink router i cannot get access to remotely (within the network i can by typing in the dlink's ip address and works). Main router Sky router IP is 192.168.0.1 - Currently the port number is 8081.Secondary router Dlink IP is 192.168.0.2 (Static ip) - currently the port number is 8080.I have tried to configure the ports but it just dont want to open. Ive tried to open the ports on main netgear and tried all the option my dlink for port forwarding. i must be missing something fundametal here.

For wired workstations: bridged DSL modem->wireless Linksys E900 router->Dell PowerConnect 2824 switch->2 modular 4-port jacks->individual workstations For wireless: bridged DSL modem->wireless Linksys E900 router->workstations The workstations were set up to pick up IP addresses automatically.After an infrastructure upgrade where we added some Cat6 cables and swapped the modular jacks for a patch panel, we lost all connectivity. I restored the connectivity to the wired workstations by assigning IP addresses. But we have no wireless and I cannot access the router GUI at its IP address (even when plugged directly into the router). All the workstations show the default gateway as 192.168.10.1, so I don't know what's going on.

When we come back in range, our iPhone's intermittently give the error "Unable to join network.". And we're stuck in that mode. When I check the Devices menu in the CCC interface, I notice the iPhone device is configured and still online. However the "x" box to delete the device is greyed out because it's online. May 11, 2012I have a Linksys E1500 wireless router that I have had for about 3 months and it has been working great up until today. I realized non of my wireless devices could detect the network, so I got on my PC which is hard wired to the router and it to says it had no network connection. So I power cycled both the router and the modem. When it came back up, this PC that I am typing from now has an internet connection but is says it is connected to Network 2 instead of the routers name for the network. My other PC that is hard wired to the router says its not connected to the network, and when I open up the Cisco Connect software it tells me my router is not plugged in. Also, nothing works wirelessly.In the web control panel it still has all my setting intact but still looks like its not connected to the internet.

Jun 24, 2012This was for a WRT160n v3.0.02 I looked up several suggestions online and decided to update the firmware to v3.0.03 This seemed to only make it worse as I could no longer connect, and when I turned the router off and back on it would allow me in for about a minute and drop me right away.I started tweaking with the settings, and came across some posts here such as this one, started tweaking with the channel settings and everything. Nothing. If anything I somehow made it worse since now instead of dropping repeatedly it wouldn't connect at all except for about a minute after restarting router, then it would drop completely (I would either get the limited access notification or I simply couldn't connect and windows said to unplug the access point. I recalled I had another Linksys router that I wasn't using in storage, a WRT54G2v 1.0.01 so I set that up, no problems... at first. All other devices picked it up right away, but once again, my new laptop decides it's too good for the freaking network and drops it repeatedly telling me there's a problem with the access point.
So at this point I'm thinking it might NOT be my network, but my wireless card or something, I uninstalled and reinstalled, updated drivers, (I use a Realtek RTL8723AE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC) I even came across this article and disabled browser service and NETBios (including all other devices on my network). It brought back the network on my laptop for a bit, only to smugly come crashing down again.

Devices on the wireless network, those that have been on the network, are able to disconnect and reconnect. Just new devices are excluded. Have gone through the admin screens to see if something is amiss but can not find anything.

I didnt worry about it until I got an Iphone and now .I was able to re-establish the wireless connection on my netbook today after a ton of research and messing around with the settings and then downloaded network magic, which finally fixed the problem. I believe that it automatically transmitted the WEP key to the Netbook, which is what I am missing when I try to log into the network on the Iphone.How do I get this password to show up on Network Magic? When I look at the settings, it does not show the actual numbers, they are hidden.

Jul 2, 2006I recently installed a new router - WRTP54G . I used to have our 2 machines on a home network. However, that is all gone now. When I open My Network Places on my pc, nothing at all appears. On the other pc only the shared folders on that pc appears. I've tried running the network wizard several times and to no avail. I've checked the permissions and everything else I can think of, but it still doesn't work. I believe it is probably something simple to fix, like checking the right box, but I haven't found it yet. Both machines are running XP Home and I have an external drive attached to my pc. Everything worked fine till the installation of this new router. Should I just create a new network? Would that just be easier? One more thing, I got the error that says Home is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact admin of this server to find out if you have access permission. The network path was not found. Of course, I am the admin.

It has been working for the last 8 months, and stopped working after I installed Direct TV App on Ipad..It detects the network, but not accepts the PW.... I have multiple wireless devicess connected to my network without any problems..The funny thing is that my neighbor brings his ipad to my house and he is able to connect..My ipad connects to any other network...just not my home network.. I contacted Apple who spend hours with me on the phone and suggested doing a full reset on the ipad, but still did not solve the problem..I called and already paid for linksys support ($62.95) who spend hours with me on the phone, but suggesting: "maybe you need to buy another router"...REALLY!!!! Again, I have 3 Smart TVs, Xbox360, and Wii, that are connected to the network just fine .even my neibor comes with his Ipad3 and connects to my network just fine......and I can connect with my ipad to any other network without any problems... BTW, I have already removed the DirectTV app from the ipad....but I still cannot connect to my network..

Feb 15, 2012I'll try and keep this brief, we were having problems with our netgear router (DGN1000) mainly with connection when online gaming with PS3, generally poor connection - so purchased a TP-Link router (TD-W8960N). We could usually access the netgear wirelessly on our laptops Dell and Acer Aspire 4820T (both Windows 7) without any problems and were still doing so last night. However hubby attempted to install the new router last night and all seemed to go fine but after installing we couldn't connect to the wireless network through laptops, iphone ps3 etc - even though we could see the network with excellent strength, after hours of trying called TP-Link they went through everything they could think of and still no joy. Gave up in the end and went to reinstall the netgear Router and now we have the same problem with this router, even though earlier in the night it wasn't a problem - we deleted the previous networks so there was nothing stored in memory & tried everything we can think of (although neither of us are brilliant with IT we do usually get by).We even set up an unsecured wireless network (on both routers) and still couldn't connect?

I have recently purchased a second hand 3512 XL which I have managed to connect to via PuTTY and the console cable. I have familiarized myself with access privileges and resetting passwords and locating the IP address, etc.
I am trying to connect the switch to Cisco Network Assistant however I am unable to connect to the switch over a cat5 on the first port (nothing else is on the network, just a server directly to the switch). I have tried pinging the switch from my server, and similarly I have tried pinging the server from the switch and each time there is 100% fail rate.

Sep 21, 2012I have a problem with extending the LAN on a client site . They are looking to extend the LAN with a 2960S-series switch. Already in place is a 4510 switch which the 2960 is connected to via fibre. The 2 switches are both set up but there is no connectivity as I cant ping between them or anything. The management VLAN on the 2960 shows line up, protocol down, which I believe means the VLAN is enabled but there is a form of physical mismtach on the ports. I have attached the configs of both switches. I feel it might be a problem with GBIC module compatibility. The SFP installed on both ends of the switch are GLC-SX-MMD. On the 4510, the SFP sits in a twingig converter (CVR-X2-SFP) but there is no light on it at all when the cables are plugged in.

Oct 21, 2012I have a network running some 20 switches, two controllers and many AP's. All the devices that should be able to connect to cisco network assistant can successfully. However there is one switch that will show in neighbours but will give the message of “unable to connect to device” when I try and add it to the topology.
As far as I can see the config is identically to all other similar switches in the network. I can telnet from a switch (management VLAN) to the switch in question. However when I try to ping or telnet from the PC running network assistant (different subnet) I am unsuccessful. However I can ping/telnet to all other cisco device from this PC. The switch is a WS-C3560-48TS and I have included the config for firstly the switch in question and another switch of the same model and config that works correctly.

May 11, 2011Our Comcast broadband goes to our modem then our router (Linksys) before splitting off to our desktop & our Ooma unit. I run our netbook off of the wireless but the desktop & Ooma are physically connected to two of the router's ports.This afternoon I lost the ability to connect to the internet with the desktop. Ooma works and so does my netbook. The computer finds the connection and says it's working fine when I try to diagnose the problem, but none of my browsers (Chrome, Firefox or IE) are able to connect to the network. Thunderbird and gmail notifier also can not connect.Using command prompt I can successfully ping any website I try.I have tried everything I could think of:
Powered down and restarted PCU
New network card
Disabled Norton
New cord from router to network card
Switched connection so it was directly from modem to PCU
Reinstalled browsers
I don't know what else I can try. The computer is not allowing me to run a system restore. It says that the disk is damaged and must be repaired. But it will not allow me to repair it because the disk is running? It seems to me that there is a setting or security issue that is blocking my access to the network?

However i'm now at my new place, and i cant seem to get my desktop computer to connect to the internet. After 8 different campus tech crews came through, they've determined that the connection issue is not caused on their end. The issue as far as i can tell is not caused by the cable either because i got internet access when i bridged the connection using my laptop's wireless connection. I have also used the cable to connect to the internet on my laptop. However, when i try to connect on my desktop it says that that ethernet cable is not connected. No link light comes on, and the connection is not recognized at all.

Well I didnt complete the installation and set up because I forgot to write down the registration key #. Ever since then I have had a terrible time getting my network reconfigured and have tried everything with Verizon network support over the phone. I am now unable to get a valid Ip address or default gateway with either my Wireless or my LAN connections. I have done all types of troubleshooting, resetting netgear router, modem, ip config /reset /renew,netsh winsock reset catalog commands and etc . . . STILL NOTHING WORKS ! I have another machine that is a mac book on my home wirless network that connects just fine, the only problem is my machine. Cisco E1000 - Unable To Connect With Secure Connection?
Oct 4, 2012I have a Cisco E1000 that I was changing settings on and now I cannot connect when I have a secure connection. I can connect when I disable security, I can also connect with a USB wireless adapter. Anyone else can connect to the wireless, but I cannot with my internal wireless adapater if the router is in secure mode, but I can with unsecure mode. I'm not sure what I changed or when, or if it is a coincidence. I'm using Windows Vista Home Edition. I have two wireless connections. The wireless 2 with the netgear adapter is working but the wireless with the Atheros is not. The wireless connector works with other other networks, just not the Cisco E1000 and the Cisco E1000 works with other computers. When I connect with the Atheros to the Cisco it just shows "Local Only".

Jun 15, 2011when I try to connect to a network where is required a login in the first webpage I cannot have internet access, but only local access.I mean: even for free internet connection, sometimes they require you to connect to their network, then open the browser that is automatically direct to their network login page in order to login in that page.my problem is that I am able to connect to the network but when i open any browser, it does not direct me to the login webpage; it tries to go to my homepage but, obviously, the computer is not still connected to internet, so on the browser it appear "Atheros AR5B91 Wireless Network Adapter".

Netgear Dg834g Unable To Connect Wireless Or With Ethernet Connection
Feb 28, 2011My dad is using a netgear router DG834G V2 and has no problem until recently. He got a new phone and wanted to connect wirelessly but couldn't remember is network key. After playing around with things he's obviuosley changed something and now has no internet what so ever.
I've tried plugging in the eternet cable and accessing 192.168.0.1 but can't see any problems there. When i am able to get a connection it's local only and Internet explorer can't display web pages. And when i unplug the ethernet cable it doesn't always find the wireless connection, and if it does find it, then i have the same problem as when the lead is plugged in.
His ISP is AOL although he doesn't always access the internet via aol, he'll use IE and i'm trying to get him to give firefox a go.
I have tried disabled both windows firewall and AVG firewall and individually but still keep getting the message internet explorer cannot display webpage.
