Cisco :: Monitoring Catalyst 3560 Health Using MIB / SNMP
May 23, 2011I'm a C# programmer and as part of my software I need to monitor some Cisco Catalyst 3560V2 24 switches using SNMP (By reading MIB/S data).Apparently this switch supports more than 50 different MIBs.My question is which MIB/MIBS contains general health data (parameters) that may determine if the switch is OK, Degraded or Malfunctioned.

Aug 19, 2012I have an RDP server farm that lost a disk. The RDP service was still running but users were unable to log in. I'd like to create a health probe that does maybe a combination of TCP probe for port 3389 and something that can determine if the drive that stores user profiles is available.
I cannot add any new service (http or ftp) to the server. Is there any way I can check SNMP mibs on the windows server or maybe WMI through TCL?

Here I have to manage Cisco Switches 2960 and 4500 Series, Active Directory, Database Server, Exchange Server, File Servers, IP Telophony, Fortigate Firewall, 2960 Router, Wifi availability within Company. Although, in case of any disaster we will contact to vendor for solution, but the management told me to deploy any Software/Network Monitor which will facilitate to manage all this, i.e, overall network Health check, Performance Measurement, Fault Tolerance.

Jul 21, 2011Need to deploy ms office compatibility pack via a gpo to a network I work on. I've extracted the exe and have the msi and cab files which I've placed in a network share and given full control permissions to everyone (I did this after it not working a few times with modify), everyone has full control on the 2 files as well.
I've created a new gpo "software deploy" under computer configuration, software, I've assigned a new package and typed the path in the following format \servershareo12.msi. I've moved a test pc into a test ou in ad and back in group policy management I've linked the software deploy gpo to this test ou. I've ran gpupdate /force on both ends.I've restarted the test box, nothing, repeatedly, I even edited the gpo to deploy the software under user and moved a test user into this test ou, same thing, nothing. I then went back to the config above using the computer config instead of user.

1, If I want to use IPSec VPN connect branch and main office, apart from the router, I only need to buy the Security pack, like SL-19-SEC-K9/SL-29-SEC-K9, no need to buy SL-19-DATA-K9/SL-29-DATA-K9, am I right?
2, If I want to use SSL VPN connect branch and main office, apart from the router and SL-19-SEC-K9/SL-29-SEC-K9, I only need to buy L-FL-SSLVPN10-K9 for CISCO2911 in main office, no need to buy L-FL-SSLVPN10-K9 for branch as each CISCO1921 has two default SSL license?

Computer Can Only Connect In Safe Mode
Aug 29, 2012My computer came with Mcaffe pre installed on the laptop however did not stop me getting the police e crime unit virus about three weeks ago. To fix this I booted in safe mode and did a system restore to around 3 months before I got the virus. I then installed avast antivirus and did a scan and boot scan which came back with nothing which suggested to me it had gone. This then meant I had both mcaffe and and avast running at the same time. Then until 3 weeks later the internet suddenly stopped working whilst I was on the internet. My laptop sees my router and says it is connected to it but says the router is not connected to the internet. This is false as every other device in the house can connect. However I then tried my computer in safe mode with networking and it can connect to the internet.

Scans: Scanned for virus using Microsoft Securty Essential, Malwarebytes and Spybot. There were viruses but they are cleaned now.
Router: I show I am connected to the router. I have unplugged and reset the router.
NIC: I have reset the NIC, shows NIC is working properly
Drivers: Most recent drivers
Firewall/Security: have shut down and tested the internet
CMD: can ping google and others
CMD: reset TCP/IP stack
and many others.

As a side note I was able to connect in normal mode with Firefox V4 but accidentally updated to FF12 and now it won't work either. HJT log posted below. Feb 7, 2013My daughters laptop will not connect either wirelessly or via cable apart from in Safe mode with Networking. It has been working fine for over a year and she has not made any radical changes recently and all other devices in our house work and connect fine. I have run various checks including Malwarebytes and their root checker all comes back clean. It is finding the connections fine, just says No Internet access.It is a HP Pavilion g6 running Windows 7, the ipconfig /all is as follows?

Theres a possibility that the websites I'm trying to enter are not going to work after I disable safe-browsing because there's something wrong with internet(I'll open another topic for that). But still, I'd like to see Firefox's "cannot found" window, not Ad-Aware's.
