Jul 2, 2012
I have a problem in the way i have now set up my network can not get the computers in the kids bed rooms to print.I have a connection from Virgin Media cable comes into a wireless router and the printer is connected to this (HPCM3530). Then as the signal is not good up stairs i have taken a connector from this router to a home plug via the mains. Then up stairs i have connected a wireless router to the home plug and all the kit upstairs connect to the net fine wirelessly on this router. However i can not see the printer. If i try to ping it i just get time out.

I have a gateway PC running win Xp. Also a dell color laser printer connected to a wireless router, which works fine wirelessly off the PC. I also have a canon laser printer connected to the router exactly the same way. Problem is (1) canon won't print unless I connect it to the pc's USB port and (2). If I leave that printer on it eventually (not right away) results in loss of Internet on all wireless devices. Wireless access is there, but data won't load?

I want to print via Windows to a static-ip hp printer over the internet. I have static-ip addressed printers and plotters that I need to print to via my laptops from various locations when i'm not in the office. I have three locations and each location has static-ip's assigned to the local printers and i need to be able to print to them. Most laptops are either Windows XP PRO or Windows 7 Home Premium. I have heard something about using port 9100 to print to them, but I don't know how that works.

I have just moved into a new office and I have free internet, but I would like to set-up my network multi function printer in the same office.I don't have a router in my office I just have the socket (presumably from the building owners cabinet). Adding another network card.I tried removing the internet cable from my PC and setting up the printer by creating a TCP port but it didn't work. (I used to do this with my HP 1050tn).RouterI tried adding a router but that didn't work either.

I have 2 desktops (running windows 7), a Canon MF8300 printer, and an outgoing ethernet line, all on a Netgear Advanced Cable Modem Gateway CGD24-CPR. I'm only concerned with having the 2 desktops set up with the Canon printer. Both computers have been connected to the printer before and I have the startup disk. But once the new offices were set up and both of the desktops were moved, I can no longer access or find the printer.
I can IPconfig the Desktops for their IPV4 addresses and both desktops recognize eachother on a Homegroup, but I can't find the printer. I printed off the print configuration page from the printer which gave me an IP address (printer is set for auto-obtain), but using an IP search won't bring up the printer. All of the devices are plugged into ethernet ports set up for the three different office they are in and the actual location of the Netgear cable modem/router is over 100 feet away. My primary concern is getting the printer for the desktops, but I also need to add a wireless router into one of those office in the future.

I bought a Dell V525w printer. Once I set it up, my computers can no longer access the internet! I have looked everywhere and cannot find an answer. The only way I can make the internet work again is to power down the printer, and reset the router. But, as soon as I turn the printer on, the internet conenction is lost again. This is very frustrating. I need to know how to fix this as soon as possible.I have a Netgear WNDR3700v3 wireless router. My computer is an Alienware X51.

I've got a Linksys E2000 router and a Brother MFC-7840W wireless printer and they don't seem to want to play nice together. The set-up process was fine and I can usually print wireless without a problem, but every so often I'll try to print and my computer will say that the printer is offline. Other computers on my network also show it as offline. The printer confirms it has an IP address, but even after power cycling it won't be picked up by my machines. I've even tried a full reset of the printer and re-configured it, at which point it is able to successfully obtain an IP address, but it still shows as offline on my PCs.
The only solution I have found is to powercycle the router. This always works. Now that's not a terribly inconvenient workaround most of the time, so I've been doing that for a few months now. It obviously implicates the router as the point of failure, but wireless internet access is not affected when the printer appears to be offline, so obviously some packets are getting through normally.

I used WPS on my DIR-655 Rev B1 FW 2.03NA to register a Brother HL-2270DW Wifi laser printer and my Mac can never wake it up to print. It always works fine from all my Windows machines. It appears as xxx.xxx.xxx.6 on my network. But the router only shows its IP as 0.0.0.0 on the STATUSWireless page and I can't find any way to change that. My assumption is that the Mac can't find it because of this, but I'm not an expert on WPS.Maybe I should take it out of WPS and just assign it a fixed IP using DHCP Reservation. Or is there another fix? I haven't ruled out the Brother OS X printer driver, but it and the printer's firmware are both up to date. Two odd things:
1. I can ping the printer from my PCs but the Mac can't find see in and it's not a Firewall issue.
2. I can see the brother printer in Finder's Shared devices: so it sees it but refuses to interact.

I have 4 computers (3 laptops, 1 desktop) in a shared office. We get internet access using their wireless network. All works fine. However, I need to share a printer amongst all of the computers. The printer is LAN enabled and I would normally just put all the PCs on a hub, together with the printer and share it that way. BUT my question is can we access the internet using the wireless network and the printer using a separate wired network at the same time?

Been using an Epson Artisan 800 for years over a long USB cable. Love the thing to pieces, until it broke printing on it's 800th CD or so. Replaced with an Epson Artisan 835 and wanted to it set it up WiFi this time (new office layout doesn't lend well to a USB cable). But I can't see the damn thing on the network! And I don't think it's the printer's fault either, since it's the second one I've tried.Printer says it's connected to the router. Shows full signal strength on front panel. All network connection tests available on the printer's touch screen pass quickly:SSID checkCommunication Mode checkSecurity Mode checkMAC Address Filtering checkSecurity Key/Password checkIP Address checkDetailed IP Setup checkBut my Win 7 box can't see the printer!Running the Epson connection wizard on my Win 7 box failed, so I assigned both static IPs in the router's DHCP panel (192.168.1.101 and .105). The printer's network test page shows the IP stuck. Power cycled both printer and router twice each. No dice. IPconfig shows that the PC's IP stuck too.

I have recently changed my broadband router and the IP address has changed from X.X.1.1 to X.X.1.247. Previously I had set the IP address of my HP printer to X.X.1.247 so it now clashes with my new router. When I try to access the printer's set up page to change it I of course go to the routers home page. How can I change the printer's IP?

I recently added 3 Windows 7 (bit) computers to a network of 5 other XP (32 bit) computers. Initially printers were OK, but now printer properties are "not available". When trying to add networked printers descriptions don't appear and can not find drivers. Tried turning off firewall - no change. Checked services and printer spooler set to automatic and running.
