My small network is connected to a large private network through a small 8 ports router with some management such as NAT, routing table, etc. In this small network I have a network printer/scanner. How can I access IT from the WAN side.

I don't know how to go about this but basically i have a cable modem connected to a router which then connects to my 3 pc's. (file/printer network sharing and stuff setup via the built in windows wizard). and i have a printer plugged into one of the pc's. (all using windows xp)they can all use the printer just fine.i got this NEW pc(windows 7), which is not physically connected to this router. instead, i set up a wireless connection to it. (a wired connection is not possible)internet access also works fine.BUT, i just realized that i think file/printer sharing it cannot do. i think it's because even though it can use the same internet it's on it's own wireless network and not the wired one. so i guess they can't communicate with each other? so i'm wondering. how can i get the wifi pc to talk to the non-wireless printer
I've got a wireless N home network set up. My wifes PC is connected directly to the cable modem, and our Epson usb printer is connected to her pc. My Toshiba laptop is using a wireless connection. I can see her pc on the network, but cannot see or connect to the printer over the network. Her PC is running Windows 7, mine is running Windows 8 Pro. I was able to print on this printer with my previous pc, which ran Windows 7
I was just wondering how to connect 3 laptops to 1 printer in my office? We don’t have a server and all laptop contacted to internet wireless through a router next door. (I don’t have access to that router)I was thinking to get a hub and then connect it to the Ethernet cable back of the printer and then connect it to each laptop?
I had to replace my wireless router and when I try to reconnect my printer this is what I get: Your wireless router requires a WEP security key. The security key configured on your printer does not match exactly. Reconfigure your wireless network WEP security key for your printer. Your printer has limited connectivity. Your printer is using IP address 169.254.xx.xxx which is not compatible with the IP address 192.16x.x.x of the pc.I had to changed the WEP security key I used on the old router as the orginal security key had been used by someone without permission. Before this I had no problems using the printer on my old routerI have tried turning everything off and unplugging it but that does not work, I tried resetting the wireless settings on the printer, yet that did not work. I am using Windows Vista service pack 2 on a Compaq Presario laptop, the wireless router is a Netgear N600, and the printer is an HP Photosmart C4740.
my home network is of 2 wired computers and one wireless computer (this one) whats strange is that even though i have internet access, I am unable to see any of the shared folders on the wired computers even though the wired computers can see each others shared folders and the shared folders on the wireless one.what im trying to do is connect to a printer, the wireless one preferably, but i can settle for the one thats directly connected to one of the wired computers if i could. i think this strange network blindness on my side might be part of the problem. this wireless one is a xp, the one with the direct printer is a vista, not sure on the last one, im thinking xp, but if xp doesnt have a 64 bit version, then i would guess 7.
I used a Belkin router for internet connection and connected to printer via ethernet cable. Belkin had frequent disconnects to internet, so I decided to use my D-Link DIR-655 router from another home. While it works well for internet, it will no longer connect with my printer, either via ethernet or wirelessly. I must carry my laptops to the printer and us a USB cable to get printouts. I am planning on moving to a Verizon 'hot-spot' and eliminate the routers completely soon and will maybe have this same issue. How can I resolve this matter?
I use wifi to connect to the Internet so I don't have a modem. Is there any kind of router system or any thing I can use to connect my printer to my computer with out using a cord
How do I add a Dell wireless printer 968A10 to a home network? The printer was connected to the old (former modem) home network. printer is now not in new network.
I recently installed a wireless printer and all seemed to work well until the next day. I am able to get on the Internet with my iPad but not my PC. I've tried winsock fix, ipconfig, netsh commands and other stuff but I can't connect to the Internet. When I tried to run ipconfig/all here's what I got:
An internal error occurred:The request is not supported.
I am able to connect 3 computers to the network. When I enter the passkey in the HP printer, the network goes down and I need to restart it. Then computers are back on, but the printer cannot be seen. The printer driver is downloaded.
is it possible to connect between 2 networks (different ips)? i have a wired ethernet group n a wireless group, my printer is on the wired group, my laptop on the wireless one.
I bought a new laptop with Windows 7. Desktop is running Vista. Printer is set to share and connected to Vista machine. Printer and file sharing is enabled on both machines. Running Windows firewall on both machines. Disabled Comodo firewall on Vista machine. Both computers have the same workgroup. Both computers have the same user name and password. Password protected sharing is turned off both machinesVista can access the W7 machine, last night W7 could see but not access Vista, but it doesn't even see it. When I troubleshoot I get a message "file and print sharing resource (Vista PC name) is online but isn't responding to connection attempts".
I've been trying to connect my downstairs PC (No wireless Card) to my upstairs Wi-Fi printer through my Wi-Fi router and have not been able to do it, even after reading and resetting my printer's network card as directed by Brother's tech support 4 times.Actually, that's not true once I WAS able to access the printer's online Interface and change a few settings, but when it came time to submit my settings, everything just froze and I wasn't able to access the interface afterwards. (see my setup below) Here's the result of the first attempts (Node Type and IP Address are NOT good)IP range NOT good 169.254.x.x .Second and temporarily successful attempt (Node Type and IP Address are good) IP Range IS good 192.168.x.x.I know it would be easier to simply buy a Wi-Fi network card for my PC but I would rather learn how to do this manually.
I have a PC running XP connected to a Huawei HG 520b router via an Ethernet Cable. A printer is connected to the PC using a USB cable. A Notebook running Vista connects to the Router via WiFi. I would like to print directly from the Notebook using the Printer which is connected to my PC. Is this possible and if so what do I have to do?
After purchasing another dell XPS since my first one went bad, I noticed I can no longer print wireless to my canon xp860 printer. It worked fine with the old computer although I was using an external Blue tooth plug in. This nre laptop has builtin Blue tooth. I have tried to reinstall the printer for wireless and it seems to be install but it just wont print. My thought is to just give up and buy another plug in for the laptop. The device mgr. shows a good install too.
I have windows 7 on one client and windows xp on seconad client. the problem occure when i share hp 1320 pcl 5 printer on network..when i go to install the error shows " unable to find *.inf file".
Currently my network is set up so all machines are on the same workgroup. The server (Server 2008) is also part of this workgroup and has shares set up to only allow access if a client PC is logged in as the same user/password as the server uses.I want to set up a domain on the server so I can install Exchange, but if I do this, will my Workgroup PC's lose access to the server shares?
