View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Netgear WNDR3300 wireless router has stopped working. I was trying to put new firmware on it and it just stopped being able to connect to the internet. I can't connect to the internet through it wired or wirelessly. Wirelessly I can connect to it, but I can't do anything like browse the web. I have tried resetting it to factory defaults and restarting it and my modem many times, and my modem can't be the problem because using my other router everything is fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 30mps cable internet service. I also have a wireless router Model Netgear WNDR3300. I normally get a solid 25-30 mps signal over my wireless network. I noticed the other day that my DL speeds were stupid slow so (down from 30mps to like 6mps) I called my ISP and pinpointed the issue to a bad cord from the modem to the router.
I replaced that cord and was able to get a full 30-35 mps with a hard line to my laptop, but even with brand new cords, my wireless network is still only getting up to around 10-12 mps. Is it likely my router is starting to fry?
Ok, so I reset the router but i still can't login to the setup using the factory password (admin/admin) (blank/admin) (admin/blank). Now I have an unencrypted network and no access to the setup... I even tried using the setup CD but it doesn't recognize the router.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy EA6500 has been working fine for the last few months but a few days ago i upgraded to the latest firmware 1.1.28.147876 - this was done by an ethernet cable, not by wifi. However i've noticed the router reverts back to the previous fw 1.1.28.146856 when the router is rebooted or factory reset. I've repeated the fw upgrade process and also done a hard reset before upgrading the firmware but no avail. Normally after firmware is 'upgraded' the router reboots and i get the message "firmware successfully installed" but then on subsequent reboots the firmware reverts back. I'm using local router access but even using smartwifi gives the same issue. When upgrading fw, i've tried both options online & manual but again makes no difference.
Don't really fancy calling Linksys support and going through 4 hrs of basic trouble shooting. Or perhaps Cisco have introduced a new automatic firmware downgrade option in their routers?
My linksys router reset itself. Yes it reset itself. It resets to default paramaters. I had to change the router parameters in the webpage with the wired connection to the router. That works fine, but after a day or say it comes back to default again. I am going crazy, I am sure nobody is pressing the little button on the router. Do I have virus or something or maybe the router is going bad. It's a WRT54G.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently set up a wrt54g router that I got used from a friend. I pressed the 'reset' button on the back, configured it for my computer according to the instructions on the website, and everything worked fine for a couple of days. Then I lost connectivity, tried powercycling my modem, but had to reset and reconfigure the router again. Worked fine again for a couple of days, then the problem repeated itself, so I reset and reconfigured again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis router was given to me without any documentation. No one knows what the password is for the wifi or web interface. I have tried to reset the router to factory defaults without any luck. I have tried regular reset method and 30/30/30 and still it is holding on to the custom settings. Here is what I know:
1. The router can be pinged without any errors.
2. The logon screen comes up requesting username and password. I have tried all of the default inputs (blank/admin, admin/admin).
3. The wireless is working and the SSID is Linksysxx.
4. I tried the following:at the DOS prompt typed cd then, TFTP -i 192.168.1.1 PUT (my fw).binunplugged the router, plugged in and hit "Enter"After about 15 seconds I got the error message, "Invalid Password". I tried this again and got the same results.I know the router is working, but I can not get it for go back to factory settings.
I am facing issue with my cisco wireless E1000, the wireless connection on the laptop reset on its own. Its like there is a timer and it reset's the wireless connection after some time. I was unable to measure the time after which it resets but its happening too frequently causing multiple internet apps to fail example if I am downloading something it will fail as the internet connection is reset. The firmware I am running on the rotuer is 2.0.01 and I have configured DHCP on the LAN, I am experiencing this problem with 3 laptop that I use at home which uses both G and N networks.
