Dec 19, 2012I got a refurbished E1000, has been great.
Using it w/ my HP laptop since July, just got Mac book and was trying to use w/ that addition laptop but could not find router password, also 192.168.11 would not let me access w/ password: admin, so I reset the router and renamed it. NOW my HP laptop shows my router connected, BUT will not access internet.

Apr 18, 2012I just bought an E4200 and it was working perfectly, very easy to install, all that it promises. Then I had an energy peak. For some reason, don't ask me why, I did RESET the router not thru the web nor thru Cisco Connect, but pushing the reset button at the back. I can't access the router anymore ! It keeps asking for a password that is never accepted. I have uninstalled cisco connect and tried again. Nothing. The router is not found. Keeps asking for a password. I tried everything: blan+admin, admin+admin, the password I used to have (provided at the cisco connect uninstall).It seems that the RESET never worked. The router is working thru cables, meaning when I can connect to the internet wired. But the router is never found wireless.How could I update the firmware if the router is not recognized (or if I don't have a username+password) ?

The former service (modem) was a cisco (1 port) that I connected my EA 2700 Cisco router to and it worked like a charm. My IP phones came right up as well. Now I have an modem/router combo (provided by my ISP) and when ever I attempt to connect to my VPN it will give me an error and not connect. I was told by my ISP that I could bridge the router and try that way.Do I need to set up all over again? or have the settings remained. Also I am unable to access my router with admin/password. Jul 22, 2010My computer is an XPS 360 with alot of upgrades. After looking at the specs of D-links routers I thought I give it a try. Hooked up, works like a dream. Couple months later my computer was saying I have "limited connectivity." All of the other computers have full access and works great. I tried going to my routers home page, but all I get is "The server at 192.168.0.1 is taking too long to respond." Ive tried renewing the ipconfig, restarting everything, new cables....everything I can imagine. I tried calling my ISP and they told me it wasnt there fault, that its pretty much on my end. I called Dell for support, said my warranty went out and they cant do a thing.

Feb 21, 2012I have a Motorola SBG901 router. Typing ipconfig showed that 172.18.8.1 is the Default Gateway and this is the URL I always used to access the router login page.
I reset the router today by holding the reset button. Now typing the URL 172.18.8.1 does not work. The router user guide says to go to 192.168.0.1. I have tried this but it also does not work. For both I just get the "problem loading page" in Firefox.
The Internet works fine both with an ethernet connection and wirelessly. My only issue is that I cannot access the Motorola router login page. I could access it fine this morning before I reset the router.

Jan 30, 2013I have a Cisco aironet 3502i access point which I am using with a 5500 Wireless Controller. I was configuring the AP for flexconnect and accidentally enabled PPPoE authentication - but never set configured login details for PPPoE. Now when the AP boots up it tries to use PPPoE but fails - it never even looks for an IP address. I have no way to get the AP connected to the controller again.I tried logging into the AP via console, the AP gives me output but I never get a login, even when I hold down the Mode button during startup.I also tried holding the Mode button and waiting for the AP to boot with its default IP (10.0.0.1) and connecting to the AP via telnet, but I was unable to connect or even ping with my PC on the same network configured as 10.0.0.2.What can I do to set this AP back to defaults, to become a normal DHCP client, and reconnect to the wireless controller where I can reconfigure it?

Apr 15, 2013My EA6500 has been working fine for the last few months but a few days ago i upgraded to the latest firmware 1.1.28.147876 - this was done by an ethernet cable, not by wifi. However i've noticed the router reverts back to the previous fw 1.1.28.146856 when the router is rebooted or factory reset. I've repeated the fw upgrade process and also done a hard reset before upgrading the firmware but no avail. Normally after firmware is 'upgraded' the router reboots and i get the message "firmware successfully installed" but then on subsequent reboots the firmware reverts back. I'm using local router access but even using smartwifi gives the same issue. When upgrading fw, i've tried both options online & manual but again makes no difference.
Don't really fancy calling Linksys support and going through 4 hrs of basic trouble shooting. Or perhaps Cisco have introduced a new automatic firmware downgrade option in their routers?

Sep 6, 2011My linksys router reset itself. Yes it reset itself. It resets to default paramaters. I had to change the router parameters in the webpage with the wired connection to the router. That works fine, but after a day or say it comes back to default again. I am going crazy, I am sure nobody is pressing the little button on the router. Do I have virus or something or maybe the router is going bad. It's a WRT54G.

I tried to update to 1.3.0.59 this morning. It succeeded and the switch was restarted. After the restart I could no longer log into the switch. I tried to reset the switch but it still will not let me log in. I also tried to log into the switch using the forllowing method but I still cannot log in. I unpluged everything, held the reset for at least 30 seconds, waited 3 minutes, plugged a computer in and set it up to see the switch. All worked there and the login page appeared. It still would not take my login dredentials nor wold it that the default credentials. I has access through the switch but connot configure anything.

Feb 24, 2012This router was given to me without any documentation. No one knows what the password is for the wifi or web interface. I have tried to reset the router to factory defaults without any luck. I have tried regular reset method and 30/30/30 and still it is holding on to the custom settings. Here is what I know:
1. The router can be pinged without any errors.
2. The logon screen comes up requesting username and password. I have tried all of the default inputs (blank/admin, admin/admin).
3. The wireless is working and the SSID is Linksysxx.
4. I tried the following:at the DOS prompt typed cd then, TFTP -i 192.168.1.1 PUT (my fw).binunplugged the router, plugged in and hit "Enter"After about 15 seconds I got the error message, "Invalid Password". I tried this again and got the same results.I know the router is working, but I can not get it for go back to factory settings.

Nov 12, 2011I am facing issue with my cisco wireless E1000, the wireless connection on the laptop reset on its own. Its like there is a timer and it reset's the wireless connection after some time. I was unable to measure the time after which it resets but its happening too frequently causing multiple internet apps to fail example if I am downloading something it will fail as the internet connection is reset. The firmware I am running on the rotuer is 2.0.01 and I have configured DHCP on the LAN, I am experiencing this problem with 3 laptop that I use at home which uses both G and N networks.
