I actually have a query regarding ip addresses. We know that every domain name basically translates to set of 4 integers (in case of IPv4) which is basically the address of a website. But when we navigate to different pages of the same website, then do all of them have the same IP address?
Iv tried about everything you can find when you google things about not being able to access a particular website but none work checking out all security settings, deleting all cache, disabling security, checking date and time, flushdns, use opendns, try other devices (not one device in my household can get to https pages on this one site), making sure root certificates are updated, bypassing router, unplugging internet and router to ''reset'', trouble shooting with isp, website, ssl issuer, other wildblue users, other website users, other tech forum, checking for virus and malware and I'm sure there's more that I can't recall at the moment. I am not the only user of this website with a problem and all us having a problem have satellite internet (different providers), however not everyone with my satellite internet (wildblue thru dishnetwork) has this problem as I have asked here...some do some don't Wildblue ''blocking'' a website's ssl? - WildBlueWorld.com Forums
I can go to the website toontown.com but I can not access any pages that are ''secure'' or https. Can't login and using satellite internet?
Whenever I go to sites like godaddy.com or mydomain.com to register a personal domain, they only offer me sites like url...What can I do? Computers have lots of memory but no imagination..
I have a media server, running Windows Server 2003, it is also acting as my Domain controller, DNS and DHCP Server, I have a website hosted at UKHost4u.com, and I can also access my media server using the name url, I have pointed this subdomain to my external IP address of my router, in the Cpanel of my hosting acount now my problem is that I can not access my main website from my house, it just sends me to the login screen of my Media Server, it is something to do with the DHCP Server running on my server, as I turned it off and turned the one on my router back on and it cleared the problem.
I am unable to reach a particular website from my home computer. But its easily accessible from office computer. I have cleared the cache in the browser, tried to flush the dns cache using ipconfig /flushdns. Ping / tracert says - "Request timed out"
i want to access my camera from my internet website, am using dynamic internet IP address "it's changed automatically every time. so i thought about the MAC address of the IP camera, i found some websites use the MAC address to link the camera [URL] and [URL] i want the configurations that i have to do to make this workout without static IP and without using a computer between camera and internet router.
I have a website that is hosted by our company, but when the staff goes to the outside address of th website it gets denied by ACL thus page not found.

I recently installed a First Alert Security System and assigned IP address to the DVR but within the DHCP (After reading many threads, I will asssign, ping and create a static IP outside of the DHCP, maybe this will resolve the issue). I am able to view the cameras on my iPhone and HP Laptop but only internally on my network. I am trying to port forward my DVR IP address to be able to view the cameras on a public website. Although I am going to chcek and see if assigning an IP to my DVR outside of the DHCP and hopefully this will be it, I am afraid that my CradelPoint CRT 500 Modem will not support it. I read on one thread that this is a common issue after you have exhausted all the options. How can I be sure that my modem supports that my router port forwards? I want to avoid configuring to run in bridged or pass-through mode.
I have Latitude E6410 and connect to internet through wireless network to Zyxel ADSL modem. My problem has started 20 days ago when I was connected then I was disconnected from internet. The status is as below:
- I can ping the modem which means the laptop the link between modem and laptop is working while I can not ping any address or website even the provider's DNS. At the same time, if I connect the LAN cable, every thing is working properly. I tried with different laptops and there was no problem. To resolve the problem temporarily, I have to restart the modem or change the IP for my wireless card. In this case it works for another 30-60 minutes. the issue is the same when I use different modem.
I've been given the task of blocking access to certain websites, facebook, youtube, etc The router is the Cisco Linksys WRT120N
Ive entered the web addresses in the Website Blocking by URL Address boxes on the internet access policy page but it doesnt seem to work no matter how i do it.
Ive tried to deny internet access but that shuts of all internet access.
I have two FTP servers in our network, one that accepts inbound FTP connections from external clients and one that will be pushing out to external clients
Ideally i want these to both use the same external IP address, so should i configure a dynamic policy NAT rule for these two servers?
When someone goes into a game (e.g. Minecraft) instead of typing an IP to join a game they simply type in [URL] and then the server gets added just the same as if you typed in an IP (123.456.789 sorta thing)
My friend used to do this on his website and it worked across multiple games, so people only entered his website and didnt need to remember the IP. if you type in [URL] in minecraft then u can add that server without the IP, thats what i mean.
cant find server name for address...(server) : time out..15 nod is join to server(win2008R2) but new of nod is join for network error : computer name change....Note: This information is intended for a network administrator. I coulden't visit any websites and it gave me an "error 105" something. So i tried connecting my other comp to the internet cabel with the same result. So i tried to find a solution on the web (wierless internet still worked) and stumbeld upon a similar problem were the answer was to manually fill in an adress in the "internet protocol version 4" properties in the "local area connection" properties. I then noticed that i dident have the "Obtain DNS server address" set to automatically and that the other manual boxes were empty. I then turned the auto on an i had access to internet. Is this safe? Cause i read somewere that DNS server addresess were provided by the company that provide you your internet service, and that you can be redericted to a fake website that can get a hold of your account information on it
I have a client that has 2 servers behind the same router. They have an IP block from Time Warner -> (x.x.x.18-.30) The router has the IP address of x.x.x.18. Server A (192.168.1.6) is setup with the forwarding of ports 22, 23, and 115 and can be seen with the ip address x.x.x.18. An external company needs to access the other server and is requesting an external IP for Server B (192.168.1.5) which need the same ports open along with 6200.What is the best way to set this up with what they have? The router is a Linksys WRT54G. Is there a way to set them up with a x.x.x.19 address from time warner? Is this something time warner will need to do?
Client is having 1 file server running small business windows server 2003. Server is not configured with domain, it is working only on workgroup. We have around 15 users who are using that server as file server only. Now my main question is do i need to configure DNS server in that server?we also have internet connection running (have problem in that also, will explain next time) with wireless router to connected with switch. So do I need to setup dns in server also or just put static ip (I prefer static then dhcp) & dns server from ip will be ok? If I put dns which I got from ISP, so will it create any problem with using those file from server?the second question is..
What IP address, Default gateway and dns address I should use for Server & also client pc. router ip - 192.168.1.1 server ip - 192.168.1.10 Currently no DNS setupcurrent configuration - Server IP - 192.168.1.10 subnet- 255.255.255.0 gateway - 192.168.1.1 dns - 213.42.20.20 (from ISP) dns2 - xxx.xx.xx.xx (from ISP)current configuration - Client IP - 192168.1.111(to 115) subnet - 255.255.255.0 gateway - 192.168.1.1 dns 1 - 192.168.1.10 (File Server) dns 2 - 213.42.20.20 (from ISP)
My setup is as follows: as a part of a global network, I have two separate measurement stations collecting data in the field. They are working with some kind of embedded linux system and is running an FTP-server so that I can download collected data. I have some control over the stations, which e.g. means that I can select the port used for the FTP-server (default is 21).Unfortunately, for this particular set of measurement stations, they are connecting via FTP-over-radio-link to another station which is connected to my computer via a router (on the server-side) and I can only "see" their common external IP address. If I have understood this correctly, they can not use the same port for FTP traffic, right? The router used is some (for me) unknown brand with unknown capabilities, so I don't expect/want a solution at that end. Now, to my problem: as a part of this global network there is a custom software running on my computer that automatically connects to all the different stations to download and process the data. This software runs on any recent version of Windows, but I'm running Windows XP right now. There is no way for me to modify this software at this point (for the future, maybe, but not now), and unfortunately it has a severe limitation: it MUST use port 21 for FTP-connections.My first attempt was to set the FTP-port to 2121 for one of the servers and create another IP address on my client network adapter and try to forward port 21 of this new IP to port 2121 on the server/router side, but due to lack of knowledge and experience I did not manage to get this working fully.
I have one dedicated IP issued to my home, along with another dynamic one if I need it(but I don't use it). I have a webserver, mail server, and name server up and running on a single machine exposed to the internet with my static IP. I have a domain name registered to my IP address. My webserver and name server work great, but I am having difficulty with the mail server. In order to have mail work correctly, I have been told that I need to get reverse DNS setup for my domain (something I had neglected to do). My nameserver responds to reverse lookups correctly when issued locally, but it looks like queries from the internet never reach it (I think my ISP catches requests upstream). I contacted them and they put a PTR record in for my IP pointing to ns1.mydomain.com. This all works fine, but the thought occurred to me that if in my hosts file I put my MX record in as mail.mydomain.com., any mail clients that do a reverse lookup of my IP won't get mail.
Just purchased a Cisco RV110W for our small business. We were told this was easy for us to use and secure enough for our small office and for our travelling sales staff to access our website.
We purchased 2 dedicated IP-addresses, 216.82.5.230 for access to one server, and 216.82.5.231 for access to a second server (these IP-Addresses given are just an example; not real).
These come into the single RV110W WAN port. The two servers are plugged into 2 of the 4 LAN ports.
But the WAN setup page only accepts one WAN IP-Address. So when we put in 216.82.5.230, the outside world can HTTPS into one server, but we don't know how to get them to HTTPS to the second server when the other staff uses 216.82.5.231.
Server 2008 has two Nics one connected to outside switch and has internet, other Nic is connected to local siwtches which has 20 systems connected locally but does not have internet. Local systems were getting IP from server, but there was not internet on the lan systems, I restarted the server and local systems lost IP address. earlier everyting was fine.
I am having some challenges on my DMZ network. My servers and Cisco Switches in the DMZ are picking the mac address of the Firewall(Cisco ASA).I have put some static arp entries on the Firewall and switches but the servers and users on the DMZ are still receiving the mac address of the Firewall. How can i stop the Firewall from changing the mac addresses of the devices on the network. My ASA is a 5520 and i have 2960Switches.
We have a server connected to a 3560 switch which in turn connects to 6500s. The gateway interface is on the 6500. We will be changing the 6500s so the mac address for the gateway will change, however the IP address will remain the same. As we change out the 6500s the uplink connections to the 3560 will go down. This will flush the old mac address from the 3560.When the 3560 removes a MAC address does it update servers so they have to relearn the correct MAC address?
I am working with MS Windows 2008 R2 and a Belkin F5D8635-4v1 router.
I have already set up a dynamic IP address which points to my router at home. In my home network I have multiple PC's that I would like to access from the internet. I would like to achieve this without needing to change my port forwarding rules on my router each time...
My thoughts are that I use a single dynamic IP address pointed to my router. My router then forwards to a server with some sort of software that can then forward to the correct PC based on the host name.
So I have 3 domains set up all pointing to the router's IP address:
The router is not smart enough to redirect by host name, so it will just forward everything to 10.0.0.20 The server based at 10.0.0.20 must then have software to now redetermine the target based on the host name. The rules would be set up as follows:
can i use a cable splitter to connect my digital phone and my router? Currently my digital phone box is connected to the cable modem and my router is connected to the digital phone box. However I noticed that the internet speed is negatively affected.
Checking the configuration of the Wireless Notebook no longer requires the digital certificate of the ACS and NVR122 NVR123as worked in the past. The certificate is generated for the ACS root CA trusted by the COMPANY, so that the public CA certificate supersedes theprevious ACS. Therefore, any host that is in the field of company would have access to the wireless network. With this, the 8021x is working with a certificate that is common to all hosts in the field of business. How do I change it?
I am current trying to configure the network settings on a standalone DVR.I have been doing trial and error all day long to get a 'SUCCESS' on a 'check' while entering the DDNS SVC information. After figuring out that the IP Configuration & Allocation of the Network in the router was messed up, I finally got the DDNS SVC to give me a 'SUCCESS' reading. Thus, enabling me to remotely access the digital video recorder via a Internet Browser. Here's the catch ;I am only able to access the DVR from the PC that has the configuration of the network. (example 10.0.0.1)and the settings on the DVR have been set to :IP : 10.0.0.5ubnet Mask :255.255.255.0Gateway : 10.0.0.1DNS : 10.0.0.1Port of device is set to 20410.So entering http://10.0.0.5:20410 directs me to the webclient that enables me to remotely access the device
