TP-Link 300Mbps Wireless :: TL-WR842ND - UPNP Not Working On PS3?

Model : TL-WR842ND
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 3.12.22
ISP : Bright House Networks
I'm having a problem as my PS3 keeps showing up as UPnP not available even though it is turned on in the router menu. What can be the cause? I want to say there is something wrong with the PS3 and not the router.

I recently bought an new router TP-LINK TL-WR842ND. After configuring it I connected it via an cable connection to my PS3. The Internet connection works correct and I'm able to use all network feature on my console.
Then I connected a USB Hard Drive to it USB port and I enabled Media Server feature on the router. I have done steps described here url... but with no results. My PS3 sees the Media Server, but when I open it it shows no files.

The wireless drops out on my router every 1 or 2 days. I checked the LED on the router and it goes off when this occurs.I have attempted to turn WiFi back on using the 'on/off' button on the rear but it still won't work. The only remedy is to pull the power plug for a few moments and plug it back in.

Is it possible to use VLC to access the TP LINK Media Server? I have sucessfully setup the Media Server, but unfortunately I do not know how to access it using VLC or android MX player.

My normal FTP download speed is 1-2 GB/Sec but downloading from the routers USB port only gives 200KB/Sec. How to improve the server speed? Another question: How many users can log in/download at the same time?

Everything seems so good until I setting up the printer server. Resources CD contains the "USB Print Service Client Setup" but the User Guide said that I have to install "TP-LINK USB Printer Controller Setup". First, I tried to install "USB Print Service Client Setup", nothing change but a small icon in taskbar allow me to start and stop service, no dialog box said me how to install printer driver. I look in tp-link website and get "TP-LINK USB Printer Controller Setup", install it but it can not detect my printer. What should I do now because I cannot uninstall "USB Print Service Client Setup"?

I've just set up an old netbook as a secure ftp server on my network. As part of the process I locked the server host IP by making the lease permanent in the DHCP/Address Reservation page of the routers web GUI.However I later noticed the MAC binding page which seems to achieve the same thing (lock an IP address to a specific adapter). I was wondering what the practical differences between the two techniques are? i.e is it better to use binding than reservation?
I have the gut feeling that binding is more robust as I'm not sure what happens to a reservation if the specified host device is removed and then the router rebooted, is the address released back to the pool of available addresses? Binding feels like that address will never be made available to another device even if that device is no longer present, or is that completely wrong? Also does the binding survive a router reboot?

I am trying to set up a VPN access to the office Windows network by setting the pptp options in the WAN area of the networks settings.
I have entered the public IP address of the office network and also the username and password required by the system. When clicking on the connect button the router attempts to connect but then returns a "disconnected" message.

Philips support says it has to do with the router, firewall or something. Not much good from them. But I dont know anything about firewalls or anything, all I know is that my wireless internet works fine and that the TV is linked with the router but doesn't access internet. Streaming from pc to tv works fine though

I can access the USB storage via FTP, but I wanted to access files using a Windows Explorer format. Also, anyone access the Media share ? Manual tells you how to setup the USB functions but not how to access from a PC.

Why am I unable to "disable" the UPnP in my TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND wireless router? When I click on the "disable" button nothing changes. I click on the "disable" button that then click of "refresh" and it still doesn't change to disabled.

It seems there is a bug with TL-WDR3600. As it can be seen in the following image, the UPnP is off:But my firewall on the computer is reporting flood of packets originating from the router (it's the routers MAC address and IP address):I don't know what ETH type packet is, 0026 might be hex (38 decimal as seen in the raw log). But port 1900 is definitely UPnP.At the router, the wireless switch is off, as well as all other options for sharing etc. This computer is the only one connected to the router. The router has been reset several times.

I am trying to get the print server functionality working but no luck. I have a Brother HL-2030 and I know that it is not in the compatibility list. But the HL-2040 is, and the differences between the two are minimal. However, the TP-Link printer utility does not see the printer and the network scanner function is grayed out.

The TP-Link managers surely have read the constant complaints about the performance of the WR1043ND, are innumerable and of all kinds, but especially, due to instability. There are two beta versions, but they are very unstable.I beg, TP-Link, keep us informed on the development of the new firmware. When I bought this router, I was hoping a correct performance.

My router is not working wireless. Just stopped working. I hadn't touched anything in the settings. Nothing is picking up it's signal. All the lights are on saying that it SHOULD be working!I checked all the settings and they were as before. I have unplugged it and restarted, I have reset to factory settings and set it back up again but nothing! Works fine on the wire.

(My router says Version 1.9).Had this router about a month. It works fine. Using it in Wireless mode wpa2 security. Get excellent speeds. HOWEVER> It freqently drops connectivity and fails to allow wireless clients to connect at all. (You can see the SSID via wireless clients, but not connect to it). To restore it, I have to disconnect from Power, wait a moment, then reconnect to power. It recycles and connections are working again with no problems (UNTIL NEXT TIME). Seems to happen every few days.
I checked the web site and I appear to have the most current firmware.I have a Trendnet router on different channels in another part of the house which has never had this problem. I disconnected it to test if it was somehow involved, but the TP-Link router had same symptoms when it (trendnet) was not connected. Our Actiontec Router (VERIZON provides this as base connectin to them serving the Cable TV DVRs also) ) has its wireless disabled and is the DHCP server provider to the home network. DHCP is disabled on the TP Link.
HAve UPnP enabled in the EA3500 but QNAP keep telling me "Your router does not support UPnP protocol or you have not enabled the UPnP function on the router"
So I just setup my new E3000, upgrading from a WRT54G. The uPnP worked great on that router and my last three routers before that. Xbox never required I setup anything -- I can prove this simply by swapping routers and putting one of the old ones in place of the E3000.However, the E3000 (Firmware Version: 1.0.02) is not working with uPnP. Xbox connectivity test comes back and says that my NAT type is "Moderate". Most stuff works fine, but I'd like to get it all working. I worked with a Linksys tech who got NAT to "Open" by configuring triggered port forwarding. I am happy to have my issue resolved, but confused why uPnP didn't work? I mean it was easy for me to configure port forwarding, but for my less technical friends, should I simply not recommend this router because it can't do basic uPnP?
I just bought Air Video for the ipad, It needs support for the UPnP or NAT-PMP protocols, so does the wireless n do set this up automatically or do you have to manually configure the router, and if so how.
My Dlink DIR-655 is hardware ver B1 and firmware 2.00. I found the UPNP cannot cross between wired and wireless network. It is fine if both UPnP server and renderor are on either network. There is no problem on other protocol, such as SAMBA from my notebook connected via Wireless to the QNAP NAS connected via Wired to the 655.
UPnP seems to be failing somewhere between a few hours and a few days. It will work as expected for a while after starting or restarting the router, but then trying to create any new UPnP mappings will fail, and the ones that have been already created usually stop working. The commandline client upnpc fails to locate the router automatically, and manually navigating to http://192.168.0.1:65530/rootDesc.xml in Chrome returns a connection reset error instead of the expected XML device description.I turned on debug messages in the logs, but there doesn't seem to be anything useful in there (though they also seem to be flooded with a bunch of IPv6 mDNS network hopping, so I'm going to try disabling that for a while and see if that works). I did update to 2.10 and still had the same issue with UPnP, however my wireless network kept going down (I guess a known issue) so I downgraded back to 2.07. After the downgrade, I reset the router and manually re-entered all my settings (i.e. I didn't import them).
I have a DCS-930L network camera that I configured from its Web-based interface. In SETUP | Network Setup, I have disabled both UPnP and UPnP Port Forwarding. In my router's (Netgear WNDR3700) settings, I reserved the local IP address, 192.168.1.80, for the DCS-930L. In the DCS-930L I assigned the network camera HTTP Port 8000; therefore, I can access the DCS-930L on the LAN from [url].... In addition, in the router, I have forwarded port 8000 to the local IP address, 192.168.1.80, so I can access the DCS-930L from outside the LAN.I can access the DCS-930L both from within the LAN and outside of the LAN.
However, even though UPnP and UPnP Port Forwarding in the DCS-930L are disabled, the DCS-930L keeps adding and deleting UPnP NAT rules in the router. In addition, a system at the IP address, 207.232.83.172, keeps attempting to access the DCS-930L from different ports. I traced the IP address, 207.232.83.172, to the ISP, Telekenex, in Los Angeles, California. A partial log from the router is below.[code]...
I recently upgraded from Linksys WRT54G to D-Link DIR-655 firmware version 2.0. All the features are working as advertised however i am having difficulties accessing UPnP services in my network. I have a Samsung 55" internet enabled TV connected to the router and also have few devices that can stream over UPnP to the TV. The option to enable the UPnP is enabled in the router configuration however its not finding devices in the network ... comparing that with Linksys ... all i had to do is enable the UPnP and all my devices discovered each other and started streaming without any issue. What do i need to do in D-Link to enable the UPnP devices ...
In my Ipad (I have Dlink+), I can only see 1 minute of the Cameria 942L...the faq says that I need a conection witn Upnp.I have a Cisco EA2700 and I check the box of Upnp,,but I still cant see my camera from more than a minute,, then I have to reload.

I set up my router and it does not get a WAN IP.The PPPoE user/pw ist 100% correct but in the "status field" it always says: "connecting" and i can't get an IP.The router is connected with the modem via RJ45 cabel that was in the box.My PC has no problem getting to the internet with direct modem communication (pppoe).
I am currently running a TL-WR851ND Wifi Router whith the latest build 3.13.27 Build 121101 Rel.38183n() published last November 2012. Now is there any new firmware?

Just purchased the WR940N to use as a wireless bridge. I expected to be able to have the router join my wireless network, and provide Ethernet connectivity to 4 devices behind it. But I'm missing something in the configuration. I can get it on the wireless network, and manage it via the wireless network. But devices plugged into the Ethernet cannot get out to the Internet. Basically, I have a 192.168.1.x network, and the router is node 192.168.1.3 on the wireless network. I've turned off the firewall and DHCP on the router. The Ethernet devices behind it get an address from my network, but the router inserts its own address in as the default gateway, and my Ethernet devices do not have a route to my 192.168.1.x network, despite having an address on it.
I tried to connect a WD MyBook Essential 3tb hdd NTFS, but it never recognized it. Of course, I connected it with the external power supply. With a 15gb pendrive FAT32 it works OK.
