I've been trying to open ports to start a server on some games that I play.I used a guide that shows you how to set up the server and open up the port, but I can't get it to work.I've tried making an exception in my firewall, but that didn't work, so I tried completely disabling my firewalls. Nothing. I've gone into my router settings and opening a port this way: But it still doesn't open it up. This is what I'm using to check it.In fact, NONE of the ports are open it seems? No matter what port I try to type in on the port checker, it always gives me that same error.

I have just upgraded my AIM and Skype messengers and now it won't let me sign in. I did before with my old versions. It is saying that my internet connection is bad which it is not. I have looked up ports in my Yahoo messengers, Control Panel and Bit Torrent still nothing.
Do I create an SMTP Network Object and send TCP traffic throught NAT?
Or do I go to the ASDM's Configuration/Firewall, choose Public Servers, and choose Private Interface=inside, Public Interface=outside, set the private/public IPs, and choose SMTP as the service? This seems much simpler, but is it the correct way to do it?
I am using ASDM 6.4(5) and would like to use that versus the CLI.
Have a E4200 with version 1.0.04 firmware.Been trying to open 9000 to access my buffalo media server remotely. Have set up both Single Port and Port Range Forwarding for port 9000.On trying to access media server, get message " could not connect to xxx.xxx.x.xxx:9000"Using online Open Ports Checkers shows this port is closed.
- Tried disabling all firewalls. - tried range of ports - Enabled/Disabled UPnP - tried cisco & buffalo tech support
I have only recently noticed a HUGE decrease in my Utorrent speeds, so i thought i would have a gander and lo and behold.apparently the port Utorrent uses wasn't open. Now, i have tried about 10 different port numbers, made sure Utorrent is being accepted by Norton 360 Firewall, followed complicated directions to (i think) foward ports, and also follow directions to open a specific port.Nothing has worked so far, Utorrent still comes back with a port closed error.
I can't open up any ports.I've tried using applications such as Simple Port Forwarding, PFPortChecker and manually by opening my router gateway (192.168.1.1).I can open a port, but if I check whether the port is open, it says that the port is closed. I tried opening ports through Windows Firewall and even disabling firewall, still won't work.
I am having trouble opening firefox as well as itunes. I get a message stating that i am not commected to the internet. I am able to connect to the internet using internet explorer and have no trouble logging on to websites from there.
I am unable to reach a particular website from my home computer. But its easily accessible from office computer. I have cleared the cache in the browser, tried to flush the dns cache using ipconfig /flushdns. Ping / tracert says - "Request timed out"
A year or so ago, when Verizon was my ISP, I ran a Minecraft server with a Hamachi VPN. I had looked into forwarding ports at the time, but decided to go the VPN route because I wasn't completely sure how to assign a static IP to a computer on the network. I had absolutely no issues setting up the VPN or hosting a server on the network.Recently I decided to give port forwarding a go again. I successfully assigned the static IP and put the port number into my router's port forwarding settings, but the port was still closed. I tried using online port checker tools and having friends try to log into the Minecraft server. No luck. After reading multiple port forwarding tutorials to make sure I had everything correct and double- and triple-checking all my settings, I began to suspect that something else was causing the problem. I have an older router set up as a repeater on the network so my family can connect to the Wifi network from anywhere in our house. Thinking maybe the repeater or even the main router itself was to blame, I decided to try another router. After disconnecting the current routers and setting up a spare router I had, I tried everything again. Still no luck.
I tried opening different ports unsuccessfully. No port I tried opening would work. I decided to give in and just set up Hamachi again, since that had worked flawlessly before. However, after setting up a Hamachi VPN, I realized people could join the "room," so to speak, but could not connect to the VPN itself. Even hosting a Minecraft server over Hamachi wasn't working this time.Assuming it was just an issue with Hamachi, I tried another VPN software. I got the same error - people could log in, but not connect to the VPN. Thinking back to the port checker telling me port 80 was closed, I pretty well gave up.I've walked one friend through setting up a VPN the exact same way I did, and it worked on the first try. I walked another friend through assigning a static IP and forwarding ports. I don't know what's different about my network that won't allow either of these things. I've searched my router's configuration for any setting that would override port forwarding or block a VPN, but I can't find anything.
My friend is trying to open port 88 and it says this specific message "The specified ports are being used by other configurations".I did a netstat, netstat -a, and another netstat that i forgot and we could find anything on his computer using port 88.His router is a Netgear wndr3400.
I have an IP camera (foscam). It's connected to my wireless router. My router is connected to my motorola cable modem. My isp is Cox.I want to be able to view this camera from outside (ie: when I'm at work) by going to http://(my real ip) : (port). Port that I use is 88. I can't seem to do this.
First I set the port 88 to the camera's config. I can see the camera when I'm at home (going to 192.168.1.106:88). Reading the manual, I need to forward the port 88. So I go to my linksys wireless router 192.168.1.1 and single-port forward 88 UDP TCP (both) to 192.168.1.106.This doesn't solve the problem.I go to Open Port Check Tool and put in port 88 and it says I could not see your service on (my real ip) on port (88)
I have a say 'server', with win xp running on it. I want to open a port on the system so that that computer can be accessed within the network domain. for example when i open an internet explorer browser and type in [URL], i need to be able to connect to the /mls.net/eclispe.aspx present. so for that i have to be able to open a port
i have 3g mobile dvr, put a sim card directly into it and it gets an ip address and you should be able to view it remotely but i cannot connect. i can ping the ip no problem and i checked that the port the dvr uses (9000) was also open on that ip and i used a locator to trace the ip and it pinpoints the ip to my isp's base so why i cannot connect to it
recently my brother has blocked some ports on our home router because he thinks i play too much video games. ( i actually dont play a lot ! ). He says there are alternative ways to make it work again and challenges me to figure out how to change the ports back to normal but he would not give me the access to the router, meaning i dont know the Login and password for it. Plus I am not allowed to reset the router to factory settings. For about three days I have been looking up ways to change the ports on my router through my computer but nothing has worked so far. I have a gaming tournament coming up and I really need to practice with my team but i cant get access to it.below is my system's information,
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64 bit Processor: AMD A6-3400M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, AMD64 Family 18 Model 1 Stepping 0 Processor Count: 4 RAM: 3560 Mb Graphics Card: AMD Radeon(TM) HD 6520G, 512 Mb Hard Drives: C: Total - 468745 MB, Free - 420932 MB; Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer Inc., K53Z Antivirus: None
I am trying to host my own Minecraft server on my home desktop PC and I can't get my router to open port 25565 but it won't. I tried everything and I have concluded that my router's ports are all closed and can't open. I've tried using multiple DNS providers and DMZ but none worked. I have restarted my computer, restarted, rebooted, and reset my router and modem and still nothing. I have a Linksys e1000 router.
I've been trying to set up a customers security camera's for remote viewing. He has a HP running Vista, a netgear grt614 vs10 router, and a static IP address through Verizon. My problem is this. I set up port forwarding for port 80. All seems to work well sometimes and I can connect to his DVR no problem. Then other times I can't connect at all. I'll run a port checker and it will tell me port 80 is closed. Is it possible that Verizon will off and on block inbound port 80? I seem to only be able to connect during buisness hours. Is it possible that his PC needs to be on for the port to be open. The DVR is the server which is always on and the router is always on. I don't know why the computer would have to be on.
I travel a lot and use wifi in a lot of different places (hotels, airports, etc.)My apps don't always work and I suspect that in some instances the broadband provider is blocking some of the ports I need.I don't need a port scanner like NMAP since that scans a target IP for listening ports. What I need is a way to figure out whether some firewall between my PC and the Internet is blocking specific UDP or TCP port ranges.
How to open a port in ISA 2006, step by step?So for example, if you wanted to open port 22559 incoming from either anyone or a static IP, NAT'd to an internal IP, what would be the steps? The setup is SBS 2003 Premium edition, two NIC's, DSL on the external NIC with a static IP.
How do I open all the ports for ALL of the ips on my dedicated server. I opened all the ports for the main ip that I RDP (Terminal Connection) into, but I can't seem to open the ports for the other ips that I got from my dedicated server provider.
