WRT150N Wireless Router Won't Allow To See Rest Of Network
Sep 19, 2011
My boss has a WRT150N that he wants to add to our network. The line coming into this router comes from a switch which all of our other computers/ printer are connected to. The router transmits the internet fine, but I cannot access the LAN when connecting through the router. The printer has a static IP. All internet traffic comes through a hardware firewall which is between the outside world and the switch. When I connect the line going into the router straight into a computer, the computer can see the network/print/whatnot fine.

I am currently connecting my PC to a mobile phone as a Wireless Access Point to give that PC access the internet. I also have a small home network, with one other PC and a Game Console. I own a Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router. My problem is this. How do I share that internet connection with the rest of the home network? To the best of my knowledge its not possible to connect my mobile phone directly to my Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router.
So my alternative idea is to connect to the internet via one PC, set up that internet connection as "Shared." and then allow the other devices on the home network to connect thru this. My question is how do I set up my Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router to allow my other PC and game console connect to the internet? Bridge Mode? PPPoE?

We have the Linksys WRT150N router. A while ago it suddenly lost the name we gave it when we set it up and now it shows up as Linksys. Also, it is no longer secure, and sometimes we can't even see our network - it isn't even listed. How do I go in and change this? Will I have to reset the wireless information on my printer, etc?

I am new to configuring WLC's. Our small business (5-15 wireless devices + 15ish wired) is trying to use a hand-me-down WLC and AP for our office wifi. We have a WLC 2106 directly connected to a 1231G-A-K9 via the WLC's port 8 POE. I am aware Cisco does not recommend this method, but we do not have a configurable switch at our disposal. We do not need separate VLAN's therefore I have left everything untagged. The AP has a static IP setup to allow communication to the WLC since it did not pull one from the WLC.
The AP is getting the correct network information and is showing up on the WLC monitoring page. I am able to connect to the new wireless network and able to ping between devices connected to the same AP. Now here is my question/issue. I cannot get communication from the WLC/AP to the rest of our network via an unconfigurable Netgear switch (FS605v3). After connecting an open switch port from the Netgear switch to port 4 on the WLC, I am lost. I tried giving port 4 on the WLC an address on the office network, but I receive an error stating "the IP information conflicts with another device".
Here is what I have setup on WLC
Virtual - 1.1.1.1
MNG IP-192.168.10.10
AP MNG Ip- 192.168.10.11
Subnet - /24
Gateway - 192.168.10.1
DHCP - 192.168.10.250
DNS - 192.168.10.250
Static Address on the AP's fa0-192.168.10.15
Attempted port 4 setup on WLC
VLAN identifier 0
IP- 192.168.10.25
Mask - /24
Gateway - 192.168.10.1
Port - 4
Our office network setup:
Subnet - /24
Gateway-192.168.10.1
DHCP - 192.168.10.250
DNS - 192.168.10.250

I have two notebooks, one smartphone, and one blu-ray player that connects to my wireless network. My gaming PC is hard wired into the same router that broadcasts my wireless network. About 5-6 times, my wireless network will drop and everyone connected to it wirelessly will lose their connection for about 1-2 minutes. While my gaming PCs internet connection is undisturbed, all of my wireless devices can no longer "see" the network SSID and therefore connect to it. The problem has been happening consistently for many months.

Whenever I connect to my router via wireless, It slows the network to a crawl, and I can't view websites through the same PC.Now, It only started a few days ago, and I can't find the root cause. This happens in Windows 7, however, it works in Linux with the same PC, in the same location, so it can't be the wireless card going bad. When the computer isn't online, however, everyone other connection, including smartphones, my wife's laptop, PS3, all work. I've tried updating the drivers, flushing the dns, resetting the winsock, ip release/renew, haven't found anything that works.
I've also run numerous virus scans, malware, spyware, and registry scans. The only thing I can think of is something is trying to send a lot of traffic to the router. So far, Malware Bytes, Avast, AVG, and Spybot haven't picked up anything, and I can't find the traffic leak via Windows Firewall or Comodo.
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
Wireless Card: Asus USB-N13 using Ralink drivers
The only thing I haven't tried is connecting through my ethernet card, but it's not feasible at the moment to move the desktop to the router.

My home network is up to now all hard-wired, nothing shared etc.I just got an ipad though, so do want to have wireless available now. I would like the ipad wireless router to be isolated so that the desktops run no risk from getting a virus via the ipad wireless connection. So, I was going to buy another router - would I be able to plug that into the wired router, and the desktop also plugged into the wired router, would that keep every part of the network isolated from the others?

Limit his bandwidth. but he will only be staying till the end of summer. The new roomie then might be a torrent monkey.Completely shield my other computers from his sight, so to speak. Like I said he's not a hacker but the new roomie might be.
I'd like the router (linksys WRT54G v3 runner latest linksys fw) and the rest of my network (main PC and media server) to be resistant to at least a script kiddie, and hopefully against a intermediate hacker.I'm currently using wifi with WAP2 personal as the router security.

I checked the information on the router and it only gives me the serial number and MAC address. How I can find out what the WPA key is for the router??

Pressing the Reset button does nothing, the lights don't even flash? If I change my Ethernet cable it does represent which port I'm using but I can't ping 192.168.1.1 either? I want to try and flash the bios but A: there's no file to download for this model and B: I presume I need to be able to connect in order to do the flash?

Up until about midnight tonight, my router, which has been plugged in to my cable modem, has been working fine for years, both wired and wirelessly. Suddenly, however, I went to log on to my desktop PC (wired connection; Windows 7), and I had no network connection. ipconfig indicated "media disconnected." My cable-based phone service (VOIP) is still working fine at this time.
First attempt - unplug router, wait 15 seconds, plug it back in. Still no good, though my network sharing center indicated that the network connection was appearing/disappearing every few seconds, never actually getting "internet" connectivity.
Second attempt - attempted to use a WIFI-based device (iPad), which could not see my home network by name at all.
Third attempt - reset both the cable modem and the router, bringing the cable modem up FIRST. Same results as the first attempt.
Fourth attempt - plug the wired PC directly into the cable modem - this worked fine and is how I am submitting this post as I type. So the cable modem is working properly.
Fifth attempt - look up the information on how to reset the router to factory defaults. Used a paperclip to depress the reset button for 10- and on a subsequent attempt, 30-seconds (no obvious "reset" blink pattern was observed). Plug PC back in to router. PC would not obtain any DHCP-based IP address and the network sharing center was still behaving as in the first attempt.
Sixth attempt - disconnect the cable modem uplink and see if I could get the local network functioning. Now I noticed that the LED patterns on the router were behaving as:
- Power and my PC's slot number lit
- All lights lit
- All lights off
- Power and my PC's slot number lit
- etc

In my home I have a cable modem wired to a links wireless router a wrt 300n in my office (only hardwired used in there) and I do not get such good distance to my back bedrooms with my laptop. I have run a Ethernet cable dead center of the house for my sat receiver that is connected and wired to the 300wrt. Here is my question can I use the 150 like a hub or switch at the office connected to the cable modem and use the wrt300n router so that I get wireless on that side of the house. Or in reading here I see I can maybe use a bridge. I do have a older Linksys wrt150n sitting in a box.I have read until my eyes are almost bleeding and am not sure. How I can get a better signal on the other side of the house.

I can get regarding using the Collobos Fingerprint software through my WRT150N router. I'm using Windows XP SP3 and immediatly after installing (which went extreamy well) it immediatly found and listed all of my home network printers. All of the wired and wireless windows based systems in my house can see and print to the printers without any problem. However, getting ANY of my apple devices (iPad, iPhone etc ) to print will not even show them as listed on the device when I select print on the devices. Collobos says that I have to make sure that Ports UDP 5353 doe Bonjour and TCP 6361 for FingerPrint need to be open both ways for it to work, I have no problem getting into the router settings and have set them up as stated above in Port Range Triggering and enabled. Also made sure Filter Multicast was not check marked in Security. Unfortunatly, that doesn't seem to work as I had hoped.

I am using a WRT150N with firmware v1.00.5. I have a Linux setup with Squid connected to the network with the gateway 192.168.23.254. The WRT150N has a gateway of 192.168.23.1. The WRT150N is also connected to an Apple Base Station which serves as the Access Point for WiFi users.Squid limits access for IP addresses listed under the .254 gateway. But once I change my gateway to 23.1, everything is accessible. I want to block sites as well on the WRT150N. But every time I try to put a new Access Restriction, it doesn't work.

It has happen suddenly : Internet is not working through WRT150N, though it work when directly connected to the modem. So I think it is a router issue :On the WRT150N, Internet light is flashing fast for 2 seconds, then is off for 2 seconds, then flashes, then is off and so on, wether there is a device (computer, modem, ...) plugged or not, through the blue ethernet connector. And sometimes, Internet light stays off from power on, whatever is done with ethernet connexions (yellow or blue).
When connected to the blue ethernet Internet connector, my pc ethernet lights don't blink (nor the link light or the data light)I have try the 30-30-30 reset cycle. But it doesn't improve.I have tried the loopback test : connect an ethernet cable from the one of yellow ethernet port of WRT150N to the blue ethernet of WRT150 N.Sometimes, the light for the yellow ethernet port goes on for a few seconds, while the Internet light continues to flash. After a few seconds, both go off.Sometimes, as soon as the loopback is made, the 2 lights go off, and if a computer is plugged to the yellow port, the ethernet lights of the computer and the router stays off.But I can access to WRT150N through Wifi and I can access to the web management.

Several "consultants" have told me that the problem probably lies within my Linksys WRT150N.However, upon pinging the router, it responds. I did not reset the router to factory default), I just pinged it, and it's there. My firmware is v1.0.04. My provider is Cox Communication, and the connection os cable modem.Curiously, my wife's I-Pad will not open these links either.Sample link that doesn't work: url... I had successfully set up my new WRT150N router and it was working. But then it just stopped after about 12 hours. All the lights on the front of the router are blinking. When I directly connect to the router, my computer can't detect it. I've browsed through these forums a bit and tried a few things - the reset button (60 seconds), unplugging the router, downloading the EasyLink Connect tool, but I'm still stuck.

I've been using a WRT150N wireless router successfully up until a couple days ago, when it stopped being detected. I can plug my computer directly to my modem, and it works, so my internet connection is fine. I have an older BEFW11S4 router that I am using currently, but it is very slow compared the the N router. I've tried resetting the 150N router, and also the modem, and combinations of both, but nothing seems to work. I plugged the router into my computer without connecting the modem, but I'm not able to access 192.168.1.1 either. All the lights illuminate when the router is plugged in.

I purchased a WRT150N in early Dec 07. I had a number of problems with the unit disconnecting from wired and wireless connections erratically anywhere from 1/2 hr to 10 hrs. of operation. Troubleshoot thru Linksys chat. Ended up replacing router. Now I am having the same problem with replacement router. I've updated my windows XP, SP2, updated Ethernet driver and manually reconfigured router per Linksys advise. Wife and my laptops have N adapters, primary PC is wired in. It seems to disconnect all connections at same time, totally random. The only way to reconnect is to power down router for a few seconds and then power up.

My Linksys WRT150N recently gave up on me and started to give me weird issues and started to disconnect (all the ports including wired & wireless) anywhere from 3 to infinite number of times per day and my only solution was to remove the power chord and connect it. I tried all possible ways possible including resetting the router, stopping SSID broadcast, removing the encryption, etc, but non worked. As the router was out of warranty my only option was to take it to the dealers where they told me it would take 3 weeks to fix and God knows how much they would have charged me. But after flashing the firmware with the dd-wrt it has been almost 24 hours without a single problem and now I have the cool option of seeing who is connected to the router, etc. This is a MUST for every Linksys owner.
1. Reset the router using 30-30-30 and waited for 2 minutes for things to come back 2 normal
2. Flashed the router with "dd-wrt.v24_mini_generic.bin"
3. Reset again using 30-30-30 and wait again4. Flashed the router with " dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin"5.

For the last 4 years I’ve been using the Linksys Router, model WRT150N V. 1.1 and never had any problems—until now.Yesterday I noticed that my wireless devices (i.e., two computers, tablet and Internet radio) either don’t work at all (the Internet radio) or the pages load extremely slowly—for example, the tablet has become, for all intents and purposes, unusable. Since my ‘main’ computer is connected directly to my cable internet, I know that there is nothing wrong with the Internet connection itself, only with wireless connection.I disconnected the Linksys Router for 2 minutes and reconnected it, but to no avail. I know that I have not made any changes to any software/hardware that might affect the speed.Since I also happen to have access to another wireless Internet connection (a different provider), I connected to that network and all my wireless devices were working perfectly. Therefore, I think the problem must be with the router. I am using Windows XP (on the main computer, where the router and Internet cable are attached).
