Will A 300mbps Wireless Card Slow Down A 450mbps Router / Network

Apr 10, 2012

I recently bought a router with 300+450mbps dual-band connectivity. I have a computer and am looking into buying a wireless n adapter. Should I buy a 450mbps-capable card? They cost much more than 300mbps cards and I'm not sure if the price difference is justifiable if current devices won't saturate all of the bandwith. Also, will a 300mbps card slow a 450mbps network down to "only" 300mbps?

Cabling / Cards :: Mecer WF-2113M 300Mbps Wireless Network Card Giving BSOD

Jul 1, 2012

My dad recently purchased a wireless LAN card to connect to our router for ADSL internet. The card is labelled on the box as a Mecer WF-2113M 300Mbps Wireless-N PCI-E Adapter. Link: WF-2113 Mecer 802.11b/g/n Internal Wireless PCI-e Card - Mecer

First off I could not get the card to work with the original drivers that came with the card so I updated the drivers. (The card's chipset is a Realtek RTL8192CE). After the driver update the card worked perfected until the BSOD's started completely at random. see attached image with description of BSOD.

PC's Specs:
Asus P8H61M LX Motherboard
Intel Core I3-2100 CPU @ 3,10ghz
2x2gb DDR3-1333 Ram
Gigabyte ODIN 460w PSU
Nvidia Geforce 9500Gt GPU
Windows 7 Ultimate x64

The PC was running perfectly before we installed the card. Is there anything that I can do to solve the issue? Unfortunately I cannot test the card in my PC or my brother's as we both don't have PCI-E x1 slots. Also not sure the PC shop will take the card back.

Linksys Wireless Router :: 4200v2 - How To Get 300 Or 450Mbps Speed

Jan 15, 2012

I've got a Linksys 4200v2 with a laptop client that has an Intel 5300 with 3 antenna. I am trying to get to the 300 or 450mbps speeds, but can't seem to do it. I seem to be able to get 217Mbps on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Does this seem to be a NON-bonded speed? How do I enable bonded speeds? Here is what is wierd, when I enable 40MHz Channel width on teh 5GHz band, the laptop cannot connect. If I drop it down to 20MHz, it will connect. What are the settings I need to reach 300 or 450mbps speeds? Does the 2.4 and 5GHz band need to be set with the same settings? I mean, do they use each others bandwidth to achieve 300 or 450Mbps?

TP-Link 300Mbps Wireless :: TL-WR841ND - Slow Internet Speed Using Router?

Jan 16, 2013

Region : Brazil
Model : TL-WR841ND
Hardware Version : V7
Firmware Version : 3.13.9 (Last)
ISP : NET Virtua

I've bought a TL-WD841ND and was using it normally.

After I arrived from a trip, the internet speed by wireless and by cable is only 0,5~0,7 Mbps...

My internet connection is 10 Mbps, and if I plug direct on the modem, there comes the real speed (9,7 Mbps), but connecting by the router, the speed is 1/20 of what should be. Before my travel i was using it normal, and no one has changed any configuration.

So i've updated to the last firmware avaliable on the website. So i've rebooted it and the "configuration" LED keeps flashing...

I would like to know if this led flashing is normal: (here is a video that i've done: [URL] and what could be happening. ps: connecting by cable, the internet speed is also the same (even after the factory settings reset)...

I currently have a issue with my TP-link WR941N.When I first connected the router I had a good internet speeds of about 70 mbps. My max provided by the ISP is 120Mbps but 70 was acceptable for me. Recently however the connection is terrible. I regularly have a speeds of 6Mbps via the router, When i directly to the modem via kabel I get a speed of 120Mbps. Therefore I ruled out that the connectivity problem is due to my ISP.

TP-Link 300Mbps Wireless :: TL-WR841ND - Extremely Slow Speed With Wds

I followed TP-Link's guide to set up a WDS connection between my two brand new WR841ND router. It theoreticaly "works", but the network is extremly slow. Copying a ~100 Mb sized file to another computer on the other side takes more than 10 minutes or more, I don't know exactly, because I shut down the process after 10 min. I pinged the "slave" router with 200 packets, and I realized that every third, fourth and fifth packet has more than 500 ms time. The minimum is 4 ms, the longest was 566 ms.

Router A (Master)
Connects to the internet/ADSL
DHCP enabled

[Code].....

I bought the two router from the same dealer, at the same time. Both have the same firmware. I checked all the chanels, and 5 is the only free one, but the situation is the same on every chanel.

What can couse this very slow transfer speed?

Dell :: Precision T3500 Tower / Wireless 1520 PCIe Card - Very Slow Connection?

Dec 17, 2011

i have a Dell Precision T3500 tower running Windows 7 Ultimate. This was built and shipped in March 2011 equipped with a EMEA Dell Wireless 1520 PCIe card, which has a wireless antenna attached to the port. The PC is about 30ft from the wireless router, a BT Home hub. From outset I noticed that I was gettimng very slow connection speeds to the internet, but supposed this was because our broadband was using a standard BT line with copper cables, and we are some 3 miles from the BT exchange. I was getting speeds of around 300-500kb/s. BT have just finished installing BT Infinity in my area, offering 'up to 40mb/s' speeds. I upgraded on Friday of last week.

Here's the problem: we have three laptops in the house and they are now all getting between 15mb/s-20mb/s speeds, including my Dell Inspiron laptop which is using a Dell Wireless 1501 Mini Card to connect wirelessly. Sat next to this laptop is my Precision tower, with the wireless antenna. However, the PC is getting a speed of only 3mb/s.The modem and router are obviously working fine. Forget 40mb/s, I am quite happy with 15mb/s. But why is the PC wireless speed so poor?. For a brief five minutes or so on Friday the PC DID get 15mb/s but not since then. I cannot see any way to configure the wireless card to increase the speed.I tried disabling the Dell network adaptor, and installed and plugged in a Belkin USB wireless adaptor (on which my wife's PC had achieved 15mb/s) but this slowed the wireless even more - to around 100kb/s.

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA3500 Disabled And Enabled IPV6 On Network Card

Apr 9, 2013

I purchased a Linksys EA3500 about two months ago, brought it home and set it up with my DSL provider and everything was great, until sometime last week, and since then my download speeds have just plummeted to basically nothing. I did some troubleshooting but I cannot seem to find what the issue is. I have checked all the cables etc, and I know that it is definitely something with the router itself..My current Speedtest.net speeds are as follows (I am paying for a 5mb connection) with the EA3500.Ping of 15ms Download speed of .67mbps, Upload speed of .60mbps.When I remove the router and hook straight to the DSL modem I get the following results.Pink of 12ms Download speed of 4.89mbps, Upload speed of .60mbps

- I have tried to reset the router both by holding the reset button and through the configuration application.
- I have enabled and disabled wireless to see if that was slowing things down
- I have plugged in my old WRT54G and I get the 12ms, 4.89mbps,.60mbps results on it (so I know its the EA3500)
- I tried putting the computer in the DMZ
- I have changed the ports that the computer is plugged into
- I have disabled and enabled IPV6 on both router and network card
- Firmware version - 1.1.38.134141

TrendNet TEW- 432 BRP Wireless Router - Network Slow To Connect (again)

Jun 11, 2011

I have set up a wireless home network using ADSL with the following components: TrendNet TEW- 432 BRP Wireless Router Gateway Desktop with Windows 7 OS, iMac desktop with Leopard 10.5.7 OS Compaq Presario Notebook with Vista Home Premium OS Service Pack 2 I am able to connect to the network with all 3 but I have a problem with the Notebook. It is very slow to connect and sometimes takes 15 minutes or more to find the network. Once it is connected it works fine and doesnt disconnect, but if I have to reboot for any reason the same problem occurs. It does not appear to be a problem with the placement of the router and the signal strength which is "very good" to "excellent". I say "slow to connect (again)" because this had occurred before and I returned the laptop under warranty. HP replaced the wireless network card and it worked fine, but the problem has come back over a year later. I suspect that the card is not at fault and that the problem is elsewhere but I am at a loss as to what it might be.

Speeds are like 1.5 - 2 MB/s. when I connect the laptop to the router with a cable (cat6) I get proper high speed. Trying to figure out if it's a problem with the router or windows or what. Speedtest.net says I'm getting 16 MB/s DL wirelessly to my laptop. Shouldn't wireless N be capable of higher speeds than 1.5 MB/s?? Tests are done approx 10 feet from the router.

However, this should only prolong how often i'll need to reboot the router. So, what is it that's causing my devices to disconnect or not being able to connect to the router for a prolonged period of time?

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 Wifi Network - Slow File Transfer Speed

Mar 24, 2012

I have recently purchased a Cisco E4200 to replace my D-LINK DIR-655, which I thought was defective because I was getting slow wirless file transfer speed, regardless of setting, location and client.Using the E4200, when I transfer a file from a PC to another, both connected at 300mb on the 2.4ghz band, the file transfer rate reported by windows 7 and networx is from 2MB/s to 3.5MB/s.  I think those transfer rates are not acceptable.  Is that a good assumption ? I would expect something in the range of 10MB/s (which is what I get with a cheap dlink router, wired)

I also had great difficulty finding a channel.  I had to try them all one-by-one as the auto channel selection made my PCs connect at 130mb.The E4200 is setup as follows:

-WPA-Personal
-Channel 5
-802.11n only

I have tried 3 different computers with different network adapters and they all underperform (IMO..).There are no other wireless networks in my area.I also took the E4200 to my office which is very crowed.  Every single channel is occupied by several wireless networks.  I get a file transfer speed PC to PC of about 2MB.I basically could have kept my DIR-655 as the speeds are identical.
