View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco 5508 running version 7.0.116.0. This controller hosts an open public wifi that requires users to accept a terms agreement via a Web-Passthrough setup that redirects them to the terms splash page. For most people this works without any issue. However, if a user has their homepage for their default browser set to a https site, such as [url]..., then they are never redirected to the terms splash page. The page will just spin and spin until finally they get a timeout error.

Now when I do a search with google almost every time it looks like the information site listed I click on it and am redirected to another search and if I try to go back to google search it will not let me off the page. I end up having to close that window and open a new window and research again on google. I open my old internet explorer and the same thing happens there now.

In order to log in to the cpanel, I am instructed to visit [URL]/cpanel, but because the domain is redirected, all pages are treated as if they are located on [URL]. So when I visit domain1.com/cpanel, I am redirected to domain2.com/cpanel.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Netgear WNR3500L wireless router. I assume it's v1 because on the back it doesn't have "v" anything. Firmware version V1.2.2.44_35.0.53NA.When I connect using g I get 22+Mbps download speed. When I connect using n I get 10 Mbps. I've tried using both WPA2 only (laptop reports 130 Mbps connection I believe) as well as the combo WPA+WPA2 (laptop reports connection of 117 Mbps).Broadband download results don't change - they stay at the 10 Mbps level. I've fiddled with some of the settings on my laptop's wireless card - but the results are the same. For now I'm just trying to figure out where I should focus my investigation and fiddling efforts - on the laptop or on the router.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOne moment the laptop was using the wireless connection from the router in our house and the next it lost internet access and then wasn't able to recognize the SSID or connection at all on the available wireless connections. We have reset the router and restarted the laptop countless times yet the only internet access we have is on the computer the router is hooked up to.The wireless connection works neither on the laptop nor the Wii, both previously works merely hours ago and with no problems until now.We assume there is an issue with the router itself, whether it be a loose ethernet cord (which only faintly can be moved in its place). It's almost as if the router is stopping them (Wii, and laptop) from having access. When we explore the wireless internet properties on the laptop, it shows the wireless connection, yet only there and doesn't give access to it. Could it be the router, or could the company have restricted WiFi only to the computer it is hooked up to?

I have a Packard Bell Laptop using Windows XP OS and doesn't have Wireless Connection. So long ago i bought a Linksys by Cisco Wireless-G Notebook Adapter WPC54G v.1.2 but didn't have time to set it up or use it for travelling conditions. A couple years later when i came back to check on the laptop, i noticed that i lost the setup CD. So i went on the Linksys website and looked for the driver the download. On the back of the Adapter(card) it says it is version 1.2. But this version is unavailable on the Linksys Website. I could only find v.1, 2,3,3.1 and 7. v.1 gives a driver of v3.1 etc... AND NOT VICE-VERSA.So first when i inserted the card into the slot , the PC didnt detect it. It only detected it rarely if i insert another driver (eg: USB..). And so a window would pop up to install but i didnt know what to do there. When i downloaded the v.1 driver from the website and installed it, it seemed not the detect the card either, it would just say searching for wireless, but that's it. It would keep searching for hours even when im next to the router.finally, only the Power led light on the card is lit up but not the "Link" led.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys EA4500 setup on my corporate network for wireless access. I have enabled the guest network and from all I can tell it's on a seperate subnet from my internal network like it should be. 192.168.x.x My internal is on a 10.x.x.x network. I conenct to the guest network using a laptop and I'm prompted for a password to get to the internet, which I like. The one issue I'm seeing is when I'm connected to the guest network I can still do an RDP session to internal resources. How is this possible if the guest network is on a seperate subnet?I take a laptop which has not been joined to my domain, connect to the guest ssid, and then open an RPD session and enter an IP address for an internal server and it connects. Is there a setting to keep this from happening

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just connected a WRT190N v2 Wireless Router to my XPS 400. When my wife tried to connect our other desktop to the wireless network, everything seemed fine. I noticed that, when she wasn't actively browsing or using the network, her computer would lose connectivity, but regain it when a browser was opened. When I tried to use the XPS, I found that it had no connection. I regained connectivity after using the Windows Network Diagnostic tool, but neither computer seems to keep connectivity when left alone, at least for very long.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhy my E3200 is (for lack of a better word) "throttling" my internet speeds.I'm signed up for my ISP's 50Mbps data plan. When I hook up my laptop directly to the cable modem (via LAN cable), I see close to 50Mbps as the internet speed (measure via speedtest.net). When I hook up my router to the cable modem, and connect via LAN cable to the router, the internet speed comes down to around a maximum of 26Mbps. NOTE, that I am still talking about a wired connection and not a wireless access. Speed tests with the wireless access do yield the same results as well. To rule out the obvious, I've confirmed that there aren't any other devices on the network and no other bandwidth hogging applications running while I performed these tests.
View 9 Replies View RelatedFor the last 4 years I’ve been using the Linksys Router, model WRT150N V. 1.1 and never had any problems—until now.Yesterday I noticed that my wireless devices (i.e., two computers, tablet and Internet radio) either don’t work at all (the Internet radio) or the pages load extremely slowly—for example, the tablet has become, for all intents and purposes, unusable. Since my ‘main’ computer is connected directly to my cable internet, I know that there is nothing wrong with the Internet connection itself, only with wireless connection.I disconnected the Linksys Router for 2 minutes and reconnected it, but to no avail. I know that I have not made any changes to any software/hardware that might affect the speed.Since I also happen to have access to another wireless Internet connection (a different provider), I connected to that network and all my wireless devices were working perfectly. Therefore, I think the problem must be with the router. I am using Windows XP (on the main computer, where the router and Internet cable are attached).

View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to set up an E1200 as a wireless access point for guests, and ordinarily I'd be happy to connect it LAN-to-WAN and have it create its own subnet, but I need to connect one office PC to it also because connecting the E1200 to the main gateway displaces that office PC from the last Ethernet port on the main router.
So I disabled DHCP on the E1200 and connected it LAN-to-LAN. The modem is at a fixed, non-configurable address of 192.168.0.1/255.255.0.0 and the main router is at 10.0.0.1/255.255.255.0. I set the E1200 to a static IP of 10.0.0.12/255.255.255.0.The E1200's primary wireless connection works fine. The guest access connects, but it does not prompt for a password and web pages generate a "failed to load" sort of message.I temporarily connected the E1200 as the main router and re-enabled DHCP, though I kept the static IP of 10.0.0.12/255.255.255.0, and in this configuration the guest access worked. I observed that it connected via 192.168.33.1/guestaccess.cgi (or something very similar to that).
WRT610v2 running latest firmware.
xbox 360 sees both the 2.4 network (ssid = network1) and the 5.0 network (ssid network2) when it does its scan.
Initially, xbox showed network strength for 2.4 network at 3 out of 4 bars and 5.0 network at 1 out of 4 bars. Connects to 2.4 network just fine, Won't pull an ip address and reports "Not connected" when I select the 5.0 network.
I tweaked the wireless settings per some suggestions I found in this forum and now it shows the 5.0 network at 4 out of 4 bars signal strength. Also turned security on and off and xbox 360 reported the changes in security on the 5.0 network. So the xbox 360 is definitely seening the 5.0 network. and can tell if it is running WPA2 or not. If it can see the 5.0 network and recognizes what security and network type (infrastructure) is set, would would stop it from connecting to the WRT610n router and getting an IP address? No mac filters or firewalls are set and, again, connects just fine and gets an ip address if I select the 2.4 (network1 ssid) instead.

I have a WLC 5508, AIR-LAP1142N APs and a SSID for students to connect to who bring their own device. I am still testing this and it has not been rolled out but I am running into some serious issues with joining the network. I am authenticating them through a RADIUS server (2008 R2). Problem: many of them cannot connect because they are lacking the certificate.
1. What is a good setup for authentication in a BYOD environment
2. If my setup is good what can I do to allow kids to use their computers on the wireless either without the certificate (which I know is unlikely) or what do I need to have them do to connect. I am hoping it does not involve hard wiring and getting the certificate from the server.
I have a Linksys WUSB54G version 4 adapter. My computer is running Windows XP, Service Pack 3, which is automatically updated at all times. I've been using the adapter for a year with no problems.
Suddenly, it's started loosing the connection to the Linksys router and locking up my computer so only a hard re-boot power-down will work. When it comes back up, some or all of my cookies are lost.
I've run several different security packages but no virus or other issues have been found.I've uninstalled the adapter and reinstalled it.Last time, following something I read on this site, I installed it without the Linksys software, just the drivers.
have a Cisco 5508 controller (version 6.0.199.4) that when I enable global multicast mode it will work for an hour or two and then it will kill the network. All internet both wired and wireless, access to server everything dead. I then have to directly connect to the service port and disable the global multicast mode. Then two reasons for enabling it are Docs2Go and LanSchool both require multicast to be enabled. I have it enabled on our wired network and it works OK there. ted.
View 10 Replies View RelatedWe have recently been given this unusual task. The setup is a series of CAP3502P access points, and a wireless controller (either 2500 Series or 5500 Series), as well as other standard network infrastructure.
In this network, the client (mobile/wireless) devices must be able to detect when they change what access point they are communicating through, while also requiring a seamless transition. Ie, if the client device is communicating via access point A, and displaying the application menus for A, when the user walks to the area services by access point B, it must detect that sot he application can display menus for B, without the user having to select "B".
Is there a way for the client device to detect which access point it is using and provide that to an application? Or alternatively a way for a host service residing on a server to get that information from the wireless controller?
I have had an e4200 for about a month now and its been pretty good. But I have noticed that it completely locks up when I go to copy mass amounts of data through it. I have a NAS drive plugged into it and my laptop is on the 2.4 spectrum. I went to transfer 8gigs of data from laptop to NAS drive and the entire wireless portion of the router locks up. All my wireless clients drop and I have to unplug the router and plug it back in. Even the 5ghz clients drop as well. I have not tried hardwire, but the main reason I got this was for its throughput.
