Therefore, may I know how do I configure E1200 so that I still can print wirelessly, while connected to E1200 network.Assuming the printer still connected to Dlink router, can we print to E1200 then bridge to Dlink ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy parents are using a speedtouch 546 modem for their wired internet connection, but they would like wireles in their home. I therefore bought them a linksys e1200, and tried to get their wireless internet working.
I connected the e1200 to the speedtouch via kabel, used the cisco software to install the wifi network, and so far so good. The laptop has no problem connecting to the e1200, but no internet connection, whatever I do.
There seems to be a signal comming into the back of the e1200, since the led on both the speedtouch and the e1200 are responding, indicating that the two are sharing some information.
Looking for information on the net, I came onto 3 possible solutions.
One is cloning the MAC adress of the to the speedtouch connected wired computer to the e1200. The second has something to do with interfering IP adress ranges. The third was uninstalling the cisco software, reconnecting and resetting the modem. Let windows find the hardware and just install the e1200 drivers.
at the bottom of my lap top is my wireless card that two wires connect to but my lap top didnt have them so i had to go out and buy them but dont know how to connect wires to my lap top?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT160N v3 at home, it's been working well. I usually only have an old Toshiba Satelite on the network, which runs G IIRC.I had the network setup as open without a password (I don't really have any neighbors nearbye) however when a new computer tries to get on my network, I usually have to hit the 'sync' or w/e button on the router for the computer to get on. I'm happy with that setup, and it seems to have been working fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Linksys E1200 router. I have two desktops (Windows XP) hardwired into the router, one of which is not connecting at all.I have talked to Linksys tech support 3 times already and they have not been able to fix the problem. Pinging a website got a request timeout.Pinging the router got a good response. It was properly assigned an IP address, but did not connect through the router.Under Network Connections, it displays as "Connected" but is still not able to access the Internet.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased a new EA3500 router and have fairly painlessly managed to get my desktop (running Windows XP), my lap top (running Windows 7), ipads 1 and 2 and blackberry all to connect to the wireless hub. I even have it talking to a WD 1T external hard drive.
BUT try as I might I can't get an old sony vaio running windows 2000 professional to connect to the internet. It talkes to the box and even allows the lap top to hop on as a guest but it goes through to a guest sign on web page and no matter what combination of passwords (i am sure i have the write guest sign on) it just refuses to actually connect. I never had a problem connection to our previous wireles router.
I've got an issue with my router. The Linksys E1000.In my opinion it supports the Wireless-N mode, so does my wireless lan card which is the Atheros AR5B93 (also known as the Acer Nplify 802.11 b/g/n). When I connect to the router, it only connects in normal wireles mode, so no b,g or n mode. But when I look at the Client Tabel of the router all other devices connected to the router are in Wireless-G mode. Even my laptop doesn't connect in Wireless-G mode.I want to have my laptop connected in Wireless-N mode. What do I have to do, to make this working?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWe have a Linksys WRTU54G-TM that serves both as a hotspot and phone line (T-Mobile). But since it's a G, the radius doesn't cover the whole house. So instead of buying an antenna, we bought another router (Cisco Factory Refurbished Linksys E1200 Advanced Wireless-N).
So the question is: How do we connect both routers to one modem properly, the N-Wireless to be used when necessary?
I want to set up an E1200 as a wireless access point for guests, and ordinarily I'd be happy to connect it LAN-to-WAN and have it create its own subnet, but I need to connect one office PC to it also because connecting the E1200 to the main gateway displaces that office PC from the last Ethernet port on the main router.
So I disabled DHCP on the E1200 and connected it LAN-to-LAN. The modem is at a fixed, non-configurable address of 192.168.0.1/255.255.0.0 and the main router is at 10.0.0.1/255.255.255.0. I set the E1200 to a static IP of 10.0.0.12/255.255.255.0.The E1200's primary wireless connection works fine. The guest access connects, but it does not prompt for a password and web pages generate a "failed to load" sort of message.I temporarily connected the E1200 as the main router and re-enabled DHCP, though I kept the static IP of 10.0.0.12/255.255.255.0, and in this configuration the guest access worked. I observed that it connected via 192.168.33.1/guestaccess.cgi (or something very similar to that).
I currently have a Linksys E1200 router and I am getting anywhere from .3-.5 of a megabit per second download speed while upload speed ranges from 2-5 Mbps. This is very strange to me as I have never seen a connection this slow or one that had a higher upload speed than download speed.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to extend my home network into my basement with both wired and wireless connections. I have a WRT120N upstairs, which is connected to my cable modem. I have an E1200 in the basement, which I have connected with a LAN port. DHCP is turned off, and all wired connections are getting an address from the upstairs router, and connecting to the internet successfully.I've configured the wireless with the same SSID on both routers, but the clients that connect to the downstairs wireless are not able to access the internet. They are getting an IP address from the upstairs router, but can't get past the gateway.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm considering purchasing the "Cisco Linksys - E1200 Wireless-N Router with 4-Port Ethernet Switch". Before I do, however, I want to know how to configure it as a wireless bridge to my existing wireless network.I have a hardware device with only an ethernet connection (no wireless option avaialble). I want to connect the device to a wireless router / access point, in this case it would be the e1200, and then connect to my existing wireless network. The e1200 would be acting like a client of the existing network.I found this article but Step 8 is causing concern. I do not want a wired connection. The two routers must connect wirelessly.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a camera connected to the router. IP address 192.168.1.145(static). It responds on port 7654. The camera connected either wired(if connected) or wireless otherwise using the same IP and port. the camera responds correctly on both wired and wireless from a LAN connected computer. If I try to connected via the Internet, camera will only respond if connected via a wire; i.e. the port forwarding is not forwarding internet requests on port 7654 to a wirless IP address, but will to a wired IP address. It has worked in the past, so the router seems to be capable of routing requests to the wireless LAN. Either I have changed some setting (unlikely as have reloaded saved configuration) or it is a hardware error in the router. Have had previous problems with the router which neccessitated a full reboot/reset to clear. Guessing there was some problem making the router run out of memory. Response to the configuration setup pages can be slow, and some (DHCP list and access policy) on occasions are just not responded to(AP) or not complete(DHCP - page opened but no data shown)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI replaced my broken modem with a new Motorola 3360 as recommended by my ISP. The new modem works fine connected directly to my PC. When connecting the modem to the Cisco E1200 router, the same one I had with the older modem, the E1200 says I'm not connected to the PC. I've triple checked the wired connections from the modem to the router and then to the PC. I've swapped out cables and verified that they all work when used directly from the modem to the PC. I'm thinking some settings from the old Westell modem are messing with the connectivity of the new E1200 router.
