If I get a new wireless router that is N and attach it to my desktop computer, will my laptop which has a G wireless card in it be able to work without any modification? I thought I read that N is downward compatible with B and G cards, but then I saw some kind of network adapter that is put in the USB and wondered if I'd have to do that with the laptop. I'm leaning towards a E3200 right now.
Having the same problem with a Dell Inspiron Laptop using a belkin pcmcia wireless card. It was working, but has stopped doing so. I was missing some network adapters which I have reinstalled, and the hard wired connection is now working again, but wireless will not get past the acquiring network address phase. I tried the ipconfig /all and it shows my IP address as 0.0.0.0 and the same on the subnet mask. it says the autoconfig is enabled and dhcp is enabled. My HP laptop is connecting to the wireless network just fine.
I have a dell inspiron 2650 and I need to get into it thru my desktop because the inspiron has a virus and I was wondering if I can get rid of the virus with my virus protection
Wireless connection suddenly stopped working. Ran Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility and got "There are currently no wireless adapters available and enabled". Device manager states network adapter working properly. I have disabled, then enabled it and it still won't work.
I am using HP dv9000 model laptop. Operating system is Windows 7. One month ago my laptop suddenly stopped detecting wireless card( It is working with Ethernet).
When I click on the Wireless Network Connection icon it says "Wireless network unavailable." There's also an error message that says "The Dell Wireless WLAN Card is disabled. Use the Dell Wireless WLAN Utility to enable it." When I right click on the wireless network icon it says "No wireless networks were found in range. Make sure the wireless switch on your computer is on. To see an updated list, click 'Refresh network list.'" I don't have a wireless switch. I have a wireless enable icon and it says Enabled. My wireless network is working because my phone sees it and two other networks in the neighborhood. I couldn't find the Dell Wireless WLAN Utility. I also tried my iPhone hotspot. Laptop did not detect it either.
I own an Inspiron n5110 laptop(Dell) with an Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 1030 wireless card. I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I constantly drop internet connection, mainly when downloading and playing games. In the right bottom corner, where my wireless connection signal strenght is showed, I get an yellow triangle with '!' mark in it saying 'Limited access'. When troubleshooting, the only way to get an internet connection again, I get an message 'The default gateway is not available' and it says that it's fixed. after awhile I lose internet connection again and everything repeats. I figured out that it's not from my router or Internet Service Provider. I saw in the forums the option to exchange this card for the 6230 upgraded version but that is not a variant for me because in my country the technicians can at very damage the laptop.
Whenever it comes time to terminate Cat6 lines into an RJ-45 connector, there is an expected way of lining up the colors in each end. This differs somewhat between Cat5 and Cat6 but the principle remains the same: there is a standard order in which to feed the wires into the connector.
My question is, why is this order used? Is there a specific reason why it is done this way? The way I see it, since all 8 wires inside the cable are the same, it shouldn't matter which order you use, as long as it is the same on both ends...
I think I am having problem with my network card I am running windows 7 with Dell wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card lots of times the signal is low and I get the error message no internet connectivity or some other error message that I am not being able to connect to the network provided by my wimax modem, Is there any program that I can download to test if there are any errors related to the network card or any way to fix this?
I have a wireless network with an older model HP printer connected to an HP XP desktop computer. I also have an HP laptop running Windows 7. How can I get the printer to work on the laptop?
[code] I have tried to configure this setup and have had no luck, and in the proccess have learned enough about networking to be really dangerous to my equipment. Is the problem DHCP? or incorporating MAC routing with IP routing? I'm pretty sure I've managed to program one of my keyboard buttons into a World Delete Function,.
I can not connect from a remote location it connects from my home computer wirelessly but not from a remote location?(A) By default, the HTTP port on the camera is port 80. You will need to open TCP port 80 on your router to the IP address of the camera?
got my router all set up running and working fine on my computer downstairs.. but my computer upstairs is what im trying to get wireless going.. guessing my network card dosent support wifi is why its not picking it /nor any other houses close to me.. my network card is realtek RTL 8168c / 8111c family pci-e gigabite ethernet NIC ( ndis 6.20 )could of sworn tho at my old house when i had my computer hookd up it picked up my neighbors routers above me .. currently its saying theres no routers or anything to connect too..
I formatted my new 3TB External hard drive on my computer and it shows close to 3TB space. Now when I hook it up to EA6500 router, it shows on 746.51 GB total. I have latest firmware installed.
This past weekend I went out of town and took my Windows 7 laptop with me -- since I returned home, it has been unable to connect to my wireless network. Other devices in my home connect to the network just fine, and the problem laptop has always been fine until now. My network card is an Atheros AR9285, and I'm attempting to connect to a Medialink router with WPA password protection and AES encryption. My wireless network icon in the task bar has a yellow sign with an exclamation point in it. It says "No Internet access."
I have a PC modem and recently purchase a netgear N600 wireless router. Do they make a splitter of some sort. So I can use both the PC and IPad? If they make a splitter?
After popping in the installation CD, the screen says hook everything up, which I do. Then click next, where it says "Searching Networks", then quickly changes to "Connecting to Network", and then it says it "Cannot Find Router.". Err. Check setup, etc.If I hook up directly to new router VIA internet cable. Also, this is strange: When I just open up a web browser and try to log into the router 192.168.1.1, using no user name, administration as the password, it won't let me in to the router. Even after I have reset the router with a pen.
