i have a Netgear N600 Wireless ADSL2+ router on wireless a/b/g/n dual band and all that but what i want to know is will i get better performance if i use a WirelessN card over G on a 10 - 15mb/s connection gaming wise and will it b a great increase over the G causeif its not a HUGE increase then i wont waste my money on a newer card?

I pressed what I though was the WSL button and now my router doesn't work. I has three lights lit up, the power on light, a small green blinking light and an amber light by the number 1.I've gone to the Netgear website and they want $69 for assistance to get my router up and running. I can buy a new router for that much money. There has to be an easier way.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a Netgear N600 wireless adapter (WNDA3100).I used wired before mostly without problems but was annoyed by the cables.My router is a Netgear WNDR3300 and I never had problems with it.The problem is that sometimes my wireless adapter just stops working and drops the connection.I use it since a few days, and it already happened several times.It happened especially when I was streaming videos to my PS3 (my PS3 is also wireless). It also happened while I was watching Youtube videos. When this happens, I need to unplug the adapter and plug it again. Sometimes, I need to restart the whole computer for my adapter to work again.Is this normal with USB wireless adapters? This is unacceptable to me.I want a stable connection.

I have updated my wireless drivers to the absolute newest ones. My issue is that my laptop cannot even see the 5 GHz SSID. I was under the impression that any N enabled device would be able to communicate on the 5 GHz network.

It get so hot that the hard surface it is on, and the underside of the unit itself, is almost too hot to hold. Is this typical for the E3000 and also other E-series? I was going to reconfigure it but the Netgear Router was outdated that their reconfiguring URL no longer existed. So I went out and got a *NEW* Netgear Router. Prior to the *NEW* Router I had a Laptop and a PC connected via DSL Cable connected in the Wireless Router. I am doing this because the main wireless router is in the "Man Cave," as I am a girl- I call it simply "The Cave." Anyway, the range on the N600 is supposed to be great. But from where it sits to where I sit and use my laptop or tabel is about 250 feet and goes through about 5 platered walls- so super thick.
I just got a new EA2700 and I notice that there is no way to get the same downloads speeds in wireless when compared to wired.Wired to my SHAW Cable modem I get 50 Mbps when I go wireless I get simply haalf of that. I spent almost 2 hours with the Linksys support on the phone and they said my router was bad.I do not buy that but it seems that something is not clear, or Linksys do a bogus advertisement saying that we can get 10x more speeds with this generation of routers or wireless technologies are just like that, cut your wired downloads speeds in half. View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using E4200 (fw 1.0.03) as AP and EDIMAX 6675nD as a client. I can't get over ca 10MB/s data througput even there aren't any other communication loads. Test conditions are: 5GHz band, no other networks in the band, distance 2m without any obstacles, no other data transfers (except the test), data source is NTB on GLAN port of Linksys, data sink is NAS at GLAN port of Edimax, test file is 0.5GB file. The NTB and NAS doesn't seems to be a bottleneck, because NTB connected directly to the Edimax does over 50MB/s. Both the E4200 and 6675nD are (should be) capable of 450Mbit/s @ MCS23. Strange thing is that none of them allows setting of MCS23 in their manual settings. It ends with MCS15. While forcing the E4200 to a specific MCS (in the hidden wireless_advanced menu) the MCS15, 14, 13 and auto give very similar results. The throughput drops by MCS 12 and lower indexed MCSs.The 10 MB/s seems to be a low number.... and (based on internet forums) I'm not the only one fighting the magic number 10MB/s. What is the reason of the ca 10MB/s bottleneck? And the resons why both of the routers are quiet about the MCS16 to 23 schemes in their menus, while their labels aren't?

Everything has internet successfully thru the router....not one of them can print anything because not one of them can see the printer that I know is there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust bought a new Netgear N600 router, hooked up 4 wired computers with no problem and got several wireless devices to hook up without issue. My laptop however, will not give me internet access when accessing the network wirelessly.
The access is labeled as Local Only, and the network is considered unidentified. Signal strength is excellent, and it reads the name of the new wireless server I created. It prompted me to enter the passphrase, which I did, and now my laptop is stuck on local only.
I tried updating my adaptor drivers but they are all up to date, and I tried to enter my adaptor into the address reservation on the router configuration page using the laptops MAC address and IP address.
The internet at my parents house has recently gone on the fritz..the wireless router is a N600 Wireless Dual Band Router WNDR3400..The computers of the house are able to connect to it..But it does not allow internet connections..The 3 computers are an HP Laptop running windows 7.a Dell Dimension E521 Running windows 7 & and an older HP Walmart special running XP.They can connect to outside systems and through a wired connection to the Modem from Cable vision. They replaced the wireless router and the problem continues.Internet is capable by plugging directly into the Cable vision router,unfortunately do not have the cables to try through the Netgear router to test that out..

View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried using an ethernet cable (cat 6) to connect my laptop (Sony VPC-1190X) to our gigbit router (Netgear N600 WNDR3800), but I get a message that there is no internet connectivity and the light representing that port on the router does not turn on.So, dead ethernet port on the router? Nope - unplugged the working printer from the router and used that ethernet port - same result.so dead ethernet port on the laptop? Nope - plugged the laptop into a gigbit switch (D-link DGS-2205) and instantly got internet connectivity. Note that this switch is plugged into the aforementioned Netgear router.For good measure, I tried power-cycling the router and laptop.
BTW - I can connect the laptop to the router wirelessly but I am trying to make use of the faster transfer speed of the ethernet connection.

Then I setup a new Netgear N600 wireless router, configured it, gave it a static IP, connected to it, works like a charm. Thing is, when I try to access the web gui I receive nothing.. Is the Netgear firewall taking priority or something? I can connect to the internet just fine directly but when I try the netgear it tells me No Internet Connection. I have cable broadband internet. My internet modem is a Ubee D3.0. It is connected to my Netgear N600 Wifi router which have my computer and DirecTV hooked up to it via ethernet. My wifi went down the other day. Devices were connected, but were not getting any internet service. In troubleshooting, I attempted to dial in to the router using www.routerlogin.net as well as 192.168.0.1, and I could not get into the router. I assumed the router must have crashed, and I only purchased it a month ago, so I took it back to the store and exchanged it for a new one. I got home and plugged it in, still not working. I can't access it using the above mentioned methods, and the setup software does not detect a router present. I unplugged the router and hooked the computer up directly to the internet modem. Still no luck. The computer does show a network connection in the system tray, but with no internet. I plugged my laptop in to the internet modem, and I am able to get internet just fine from my laptop. I even did a system restore to a restore point last week when I know the internet was working. No luck.
