View 2 RepliesWe're running NCS 1.1.0.58. Since updating to this release from the 1.0 release, the 'Autonomous AP Client Status' and 'Lightweight Client Status' background tasks have been failing with message 'java.lang.NullPointerException'. I believe as a result of this that the 'Current Clients' tab on an AP monitoring screen just reports 'No data available'.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a problem on a Cisco ASA5520 version 8.2(5). A customer has set up a syslog to keep tracks of tcp sessions made by vpn users. On the syslog we filter %ASA-6-302013 and %ASA-6-302014 log messages, respectively: Built inbound TCP connection and Teardown TCP connection. When the connection is made by a vpn user, at the end of the log line you see the vpn username which should be the same in both the messages for the same connection. I have verified that when a user, let's say UserA, disconnects from the vpn, their tcp sessions are not properly closed; if another user, let's say UserB, establish a VPN immeditaely after and gets the same IP address previously assigned to UserA, the log sessions are recored with UserA in the %ASA-6-302013 message and UserB in the %ASA-6-302014 message. I presume this is due to the fact the tcp sessions are not tore down when the first user disconnects and it looks like a bug to me but I didn't find it referenced anywhere. Is there a way to have all tcp session tore down when a user disconnects the VPN connection?

a) Is it possible to view real time logs for AAA clients and for ACS administrator?
b) Is it possible to track each and every change record for ACS Administrators and sessions in ACS . Ex addition and deletion of commands in command sets. As of now, we are able to see that config has changed by ACS admin but not able to see which commands are changed (Added or Removed)
c) As per user guide of ACS 5.3, we have an option for creating customized reports but unfortunately we are not able to see same option in ACS 5.3 GUI. Need confirmation on the same.
d) Is it possible to do configuration changes for ACS via Command line.

Where do I see the Authentication Type on the WLC4400 or the 1240's? In order for the clients (authenticated via Active Directory user) I have to set the Authentication in the NPS Connection Request Policy to "Allow clients to connect without negotiating an authentication method".
I do not have a certificate on the server and my method options are MS-CHAP-v2, MS-CHAP, CHAP, PAP, SPAP, and allow without negotiating. This RADIUS server was moved from Server 2003 IAS to Server 2008 NPS and there were no issues in Server 2003 IAS. I have all authentication methods allowed and it still gives me the error below. Only when I check "Allow clients to connect without negotiating an authentication method" it allows the authentication to proceed.

View 5 Replies View RelatedCurrently I have a small home network. Two desktops are connected to the router, which is wire-connected to the Time Warner modem. The desktops share folders, and there is a shared printer. Our laptop also accesses the network wirelessly. Yes, the network has a password.
We are students, and our school is installing free wi-fi in our building. I am only too happy to drop Time Warner. How can I maintain my current file sharing and printer sharing functionality without sharing with the entire WiFi network? Is there some way to allow my current router to access the WiFi and still use it for my home network?
I have 4 desktops cat5 to Dlink DIR 615 router. All work fine. Any wireless clients, laptop or netbooks, see the desktop computers for a while then disconnect somehow. All machines can see the Internet through the router at all times. View 2 Replies View Relateddesigning a wireless network for an apartment complex. The complex is shaped like like an rectangle, fairly small, maybe 100 feet on the ends and 300 feet long on the sides. There are 130 people that we are assuming may have about 3 devices each that they will connect to the wireless network, potentially simultaneously, as this is in a college environment. We have plenty of bandwidth and down/up speed. We are running 30 megabit down and 10 up. I am planning on having a router with two access points centrally located in an apartment and extending the network out with antennas in each direction from the access points with Omni directional antennas. The Access points that I am planning on using are Cisco WAP200 with maybe a Linksys router, as the router should not have more than 10 connections on it. I need something that will not crash after 10-15 users connect to it because it jams up from overload.

I presently have a fiber internet connection to my office with about 40 wireless users on a single AP. The connection keeps dropping. Probably due to too many users on a single AP?
1. My question is similar to aniketchitale's, can get another wireless router, create a different SSID (eg. router1 and router2), but both wireless routers still connected to the same fiber connection. In other words, I would like to segregate the first 20 users to router 1 and the next 20 users to router 2.
2. By having 2 wireless routers each with their unique SSID, will all the users still be able to access to the same printer in the office?
With my old netgear router I could see and share files on my kitchen PC from the office PC but with the WRT54GL I can't.
I have a printer with a static IP that both PC's can see.
question in regards to the deployment of a new WLC and new LAPs,I have configured and connected a 5508 WLC and 3500 series LAP.LAG is enabled in the WLC and successfully connected to the neighboring switch (using etherchannel) and to the network.
The port-channel port is set to trunk mode obviously and certain vlan ids are currently allowed (3-5)
The management interface has this IP address 192.168.5.250/24
I created a WLAN with WLAN ID 3, Interface set to Management and say SSID test1
I have connected a new LAP to the network, which switchport interface is set to access mode and assigned with vlan id 3. The LAP is able to join the WLC successfully with an IP address, such as, 192.168.3.100 (assigned via DHCP).
When I try connecting a mobile client to the wireless LAN, it can successfully detect and connect to the WLAN, created in the WLC (test1) however it gets an IP address by DHCP, in the 192.168.5.0/24 network, which is the IP range of the management interface's IP address.
What can I do to get the clients connecting on network 192.168.3.0/24? I thought this would be the case since I allocated the WLAN Id of 3 in the WLAN test1 configuration and since the LAP switchport is set to access mode with vlan ID 3.
I purchased my WAT54G a couple of years ago when I added a laptop, I have my desktop which is connected to DSL and a wireless printer and my laptop.A neighbor told me that I should secure my network as he has used it when his system went down. My son had added a P/W when we first set up the router.I have since found the NETWORK MAP on which shows all the users on the network and half my street is on there.I have again added a P/W how do I know if its SECURE?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am grudgingly forced to allow certain people to use my wireless router connection. I just found out that these users are able to see a display of all the devices and computers attached to the router and network. This isn't a priviledge I'd like them to have. I'd like them to only be allowed to surf the internet - and leave it at that. I use WEP with a 26 digit code and each user has been given the code.)

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 5508 WLC and 40+ LAP1142N APs spread across 19 locations that allows staff to connect to our private network via wireless. I recently deployed about 40 new laptops all identical make and model HP ProBook 4530's and all have the same client setup for the wireless. Out of those 40 laptops I have 4 that will not connect to the private network. However, these same laptops will connect to my public, open wireless network without issue. In addition to the 4 that will not connect all the others will prompt twice for network authentication. Now, I have about 10 other laptops that are not the HP model and all connect without issue and without dual propt. I don't think this is a wireless network issue but could be some type of issue with this model of laptop.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've got the E2000 at home for our private network.
We are three guys sharing a flat. We have personal laptops, work laptops, mobile phones, games consoles, tablets etc that connect to the internet.
Problem is that when someone downloads stuff, the speed is slow for the rest of us. So i was hoping i could set up something like three "channels" so each of us could have the same download speed, ie 1 mbs each regardless if others are using the network at the same time. And then maybe a guest network for all the mobiles and tablets etc. MAC filtering for access for our personal laptops should work.
We have a 20mbit cable network line.
Can i do all of this on the E2000 and how?
