Stop wireless printer connect verizon card. I have a new wireless laptop with XP and a new HP wireless printer and a Verizon card. My printer keeps connecting through my Verizon card and it is costing me lots of $. Verizon says no way.How to I tell my new Windows XP laptop to NOT connect my printer using the Verizon card? Yes, I have tried re-installing the drivers, the BIOS is updated, and no I am not pressing that key when the wireless card randomly disables. Normally it will re-enable after a few minutes or if I keep pressing that key it may re-enable. Sometimes it will take a restart for it to re-enable.
This is a completely random problem too. I am unable to reproduce the problem.
I am just about ready to replace the card and see if that works (the laptop is out of warranty and I'm comfortable inside of a laptop so that is not an issue).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using a Cisco 1921 with a Verizon 4G LTE card installed. The primary connection is a Cable Modem with the 4G LTE acting as the backup. I've setup a track on the static route to the primary ISP. I'm having multiple issues. Initially I used the Gig 0/0 int instead of a Loopback address for the IP SLA source. The IP SLA traffic would be sent to the cellular interface and cause an IP source violation and the interface would flap. Then I used the Loopback and I could not get the route to fail back when the connection came back up. Even with the Loopback as the source for IP SLA I'm still getting flapping and I think that is a NAT configuration issue. I've applied an access-group on the cellular interface to try to fix the ip source violation issues, but it doesn't appear to work. The IP-SLA-POLICY route map is an attempt to force the IP SLA traffic to the primary interface. [code]

I'm trying to set it up and I have the most recent version of the Mac OS operating system (10.8 Mountain Lion), so the setup CD is not compatible. I'm trying to do a manual set up and it seems that step 1 is to go to 192.168.1.1, which is the same IP that my FIOS router uses, so I go straight there instead of to the E4200.
Has anyone else been able to make this thing work with Mountain Lion and FIOS router?
i am using verizon fios. It's pretty fast, in fact I just did a speedtest and here is the result.But I always want more. My laptop has Intel 6300, which supports up to 450Mb. But the Actiontec MI424WR only has 54Mb. It has nice features, but it uses MoCA and connects over coaxial cables, making it unnecessarily harder to use my own router. So I searched online and found tut about how to set the actiontec as a bridge and use your own router.
1) Wouldn't that lower the speed of the router of my choice? Say if I get a 450Mb router, but I need to connect it through the port on the Actiontec, which iirc is only 100Mb. Shouldn't that mean that the new router is forced to operate at only 100Mb max?
2) What is FIOS' top speed? I'm not even sure if it can go up to 450Mb.
3)I have no problems with this Actiontec currently, the only thing I'm looking for is more speed. Has anyone tried calling Verizon and see if they could switch the connection from coax to CAT5?
wrt54g v1.1 After setting up the wireless router, I can use the internet on the pc as well as a wireless device. However after putting my pc in standby mode then back on, I can no longer connect to either. I have to restore factory defaults each time and re-enter all passwords and settings.

I have no problems with internet connectivity when connecting directly from my harddrive to the Verizon modem. I am also not having trouble connecting to the Linksys routher as I am able to see my wireless connection with no problem. However, when I try to set up the connnection with the E2100 in the loop (yes, it's connected correctly) I no longer have internet access.I tried de-installing and re-installing the Linksys software (thinking maybe there was some new configuration that would be auto-detected with a new set-up), but this didn't work. I suspect that if the problem is with my Linksys router and not with my Verizon modem that there might be something that could be done to reconfigure something manually but I do not know enough about connections and wireless systems to trust myself not to mess something up.

The FiOS comes into the basement so currently I have their router is set up in the basement. I wanted to shut off their FiOS wireless router and use my new E4200 router for wireless coverage. I am pretty sure the E4200 alone will not be able to handle my house. Most of the rooms of the house are already prewired with Ethernet cables. All those wires converge in the same closet in the basement, therefore moving the router is not an option. I was thinking of putting whichever product you experts recommend in my office which is on the 2nd floor on one side of the house. This room does have Ethernet access. However it is currently at 50-60% signal (with FiOS). My bedroom which is on the opposite side of the house is at 10-20% signal (with FiOS).
I am looking to buy something to reach all the deadspots and have WIRED LAN access (if need be in the future). What is my best option? I have researched the RE1000, the WAP610N, and even some of the other routers (E2500 or E3200) for hours. I am not an expert, and frankly after hours of reading, these technical terms of "range expanding" and "access points" are all sounding synonymous to me. I guess what I need is the range expansion on the same WiFi SSID my E4200 will provide (to cover all areas of my house), as well as an access point for connecting TVs, Xbox, or PCs in the future.

I have TWC internet, I've never had a problem till 6months ago. I play online video games often and well it was all fine and dandy. My brother use to have a desktop which he skyped 24/7 webcam and all, that didn't bother my gaming till he got a laptop. Now that hes on a laptop and only when using a laptop on wireless it makes my internet go crazy. I played wow and my ping was 110 once he got started in a webcam session it would fly up to 1000+ in ping. PS3 would lag to s---. I'm not exactly sure whats causing the horrible lag, I know the program that does it is Skype webcam when ran on wireless. Some people say they use you as a super nod whoring your net out to others. Others thing is too many incoming connections bottlenecking my router. Is there any way to fix solve this problem?. I lag even when QoS is set. He uses a Windows 7 Laptop.
