Wireless :: Zyxel WRE2205 Range Extender Loses Connection To Android Phone?
Dec 13, 2012
My samsung galaxy phone with android os connects to the weak signal of the far away router in stead of connecting til to range extender close by.Signal from extender is strong but the phone seems to have problems in obtaining the IP addres from the extender.Have returned to factory settings and made new setup - but still the same problem, and only with connecting tilthe Xyzel range extender 2205?
The BT Infinity Hub (fibre optics to the cabinet one) plugs into a router and I tried connecting via ethernet cable to both without result, still no set up page from [URL] either with wi-fi off or with wi-fi on in the "Currently connected to:" window.
Several times a day our router will lose its connection to the internet (the internet light goes off, while the wireless signal stays on). All the computers in the house lose connection to the network while this happens. It will usually happen two or more times right after each other, so the computers can re-connect for a few seconds and then the connection will drop again. Eventually, after this repeats a few times, everything returns to normal. We've tried swapping cables, microfilters and 3 different routers (though all the same model). We tried the test socket, but the same problem happens. An engineer came to test the line but said he couldn't detect any problems. We have good download/upload speeds while the router stays connected and no noise on the phone line. I'm fed up of going in circles with the ISP tech support so I came here instead...One other thing I tried was OpenDNS, but that made no difference either...
Info: The router is a ZyXEL P-660HW-T1 v3... I've tried updating the firmware on it, but it wouldn't let me... If I remember correctly the Router Configuration Interface told me I don't have permission to do that. There are four computers connected.. mine is Windows 7, I'm pretty sure 2 others are as well, and also a Macbook... There's also various stuff like an Ipad, Kindle etc., which all lose connection at the same time.
I have an old laptop in another room running WMC with windows 7. This is wired to my new DIR 655 router then via a switch to another room to my xbox 360. I have successfully connected the xbox as an extender but after a few minutes of idle time, the connection drops and my xbox automatically restarts. If I'm streaming something it seems to work fine.
I have a WRT160 V2 router with firmware v2.0.02. I have had the router for years without any problems. A few months ago I have started to see an issue where I lose connection to my internet on my laptop, and wifi on my phone at the same time. I have wifi calling on my phone and it disconnects also at the same time. All of a sudden, everything will stop working, then about 40 seconds later, it all works again. I lost the connection maybe every 30 to 60 mins. I rely on wifi calling for my primary phone, and I end up getting cut off when talking to people. BTW wifi calling is for all tmobile phones, but also normal wifi to surf the web on my laptop and phone drops too at the same time.
I have just gotten a new touch phone that has wifi. and i wanna use it through my dlink dir-825 router. My phone is the nexus s with 2.3 andriod OS.The problem is that my phone can see the 2.4 ghz connection it just keeps reporting "deactivated" i did acess other wifi and used the internet over a router. So i know the phone works.
So my question is: 1. Can i make my router ONLY be in 2.4ghz mode, if so, can you link or explain it?
Bought the Zyxel Wireless Range Extender to get wifi in farthest rooms in my house but set up is not working because BT have disabled WPS button on Home Hub 3 with my Infinity. Therefore they suggest I try manual set up. This requires browser wtih IP address 192.168.1.2 for Zyxel wireless extender WRE2205, This gives no result (page does not load in IE).
I setup an accespoint on my laptop. Now I want to connect my Phone (android) to this network but, he is asking for an Ip-address I tried the following;
I have CUWN, WLC 5508 is installed and APs are 1142. Network is working fine but I am facing the problem with Android phone which are not browsing for internet.
Android phones connectes with wi-fi, it takes IP from DHCP well, which is pingable from any node of network. even I got be GUI of WLC on Android, but when it goes to browes for internet the message displayed " Page cannot be disply".
In same scenario if configure the Public IP on Android Phone (Via DHCP or Static) then it runs the internet smoothly.
I started out with a wireless router/modem that my ISP provides as its default modem. It was and still is working fine. We will call this router A. My uncle who is living with me wasn't receiving the wifi signal in his room so he went and bought a different router that is supposed to have more range. Also, I believe it is capable of providing higher speeds wirelessly, but that is really irrelevant I think. We can call this new router B. I currently have router B running through router A with an ethernet cable into a LAN port- LAN port to LAN port. I basically want B to be a wireless range extender. My question is quite simple actually. I have everything up and running just fine, but it seems as if the wireless signal may still be coming from the old router A.
I did an upgrade to my firmware on the x2000 dsl router and now i cannot download apps with my android phone, i have tried everything that i can think of.
i purchased the belkin i described in the title of this post. It instructs me after connecting it to my pc that i should go to web page "[URL] it comes up that there is no site for this address. I can't use this extender until i visit the web to set it up.
Can I use netgear WGR 614 as range extender of another wireless router?I already using a model with wireless router, i have a spare netgear WGR 614. I want this router to pick up wireless signal from the first wireless router then share the internet on ethernet port only.
On instruction from reviews of the TV on amazon, i bought a TP-Link wireless range extender to set up as a client/repeater (not sure which to use) to connect wirelessly to my router in another room so i can connect an ethernet to the TV for online functions without an overpriced Sony wireless dongle.I connect the device to the router, assign a random IP in the same subnet as my lan (since it has the same default address as my router) and set the default gateway to my router's IP address (assuming this is what it is asking for) and set the device to either client or repeater mode (unsure of which i need so have tried both) and everything seems fine until this point. However, I set the device to WEP security and set the WEP key to the same as my router as the instructions say and my router instantly loses it's internet connection entirely and repeatedly tries to reconnect and fail until i disable WEP security on the wireless range extender, at which point it successfully reconnects.
I have a wireless modem but its a sucky one. It was one of those free ones from verizon. Anyways, I don't get good signal in certain places in my house, so i am interested in knowing which would be better a wifi range extender or a good wireless modem.
I first want to say I "think" I might be posting in the wrong forums for this question, but because I'm not really sure what the proper terminology for this is, I thought it best to ask here.
I have recently upgraded my router for my home network from an old Linksys WRT54GS G router, to a new E2500 N router. I have heard/read that it is possible to reconfiqure my old router to act as a range extender for my network but I am unclear how to do so. I think this may be the same thing as an access point, but all the FAQ's I've found seem to have this work as a solo device, not as a device on existing network. I have my e2500 setup with the modem in my study and broadcasting from there, and would like to use my old G router set up as a range extender to be located in the front living room area and picking up the network signal and rebroadcasting from there without a modem or computer attached.
I have a WRT120N that doesn't provide a great signal in one corner of my house. I wanted to setup a Range Extender to allow it to reach that area better. I have tried looking around on here but am not having any luck finding one that says it will be compatible or how to set it up.
I am moving my office from one side of the house to the other which has real spotty wireless coverage. Most likely I will not be able to move the modem or wireless router, so I have to somehow increase the range.I did some research and poking around on forums, but I can't find a clear cut, number 1. What you think would be the best option to pair with the DIR-655.
I have a simple wireless network that works fine, except for one room where the signal is too low. So I purchased a WAP4410N to use as a range extender. provide the exact settings that are need to set this up? I have tried many, many different configurations, and I can't get it to work properly. In particular, it will not give me an IP address and therefore won't connect. Also, is it important to use the SAME SSID name? or better to use a different name so as not to confuse the two signals (base unit vs repeater (4410)).
I recently purchased this network range extender for my house. Upon going through the set up wizard the last step asked me to confirm that I could connect to the extender. After putting in the passphrase and clicking connect, it tells me that the passphrase is wrong. It is set to WEP 64bit (cannot change this) and uses the same information as my wireless network itself. I know im not entering an incorrect passphrase because it clearly shows me what the passphrase is at the end of the set up wizard. I looked for some troubleshooting from the Netgear website and in the manual but it just says that the extender is outside the network range, which is not true as ive moved it around to different spots and it gives me the same error.
I'm a bit confused about what a wireless range extender gives me. I have bought a Sitecom Wireless Range Extender 300N. This extends the wireless range of your router to parts of the house that have a weak signal or none atall.
It is setup correctly and is working fine, however, the SSID is different from the Router.
Essentially, I want to extend the range of my router to parts of the house that have a low signal. This range extender seems to be the correct product to do this. However, I want my clients to switch to the appropriate wireless access point (either the range extender or my router) depending on the strongest signal, how can this be configured?
When a client is the overlap area (the area where both the router and the range extender can be sensed) I want the client to switch to the strongest signal.
In my case My Router is in the loft and the range extender downstairs. You can still get a low signal from the router when you are downstairs but the range extender give a full signal. However, I dont understand what makes a laptop 'switch' from router to extender when its downstairs.
Because the extender has a different SSID a laptop that can still get a low signal from the router when downstairs doesn't automatically attach to the extender to get a strongest signal.
If I set the extender to have the same SSID as the router
My main router is connected to the modem and is an E4500 (upstairs on one end of house). It has a wired connection to the E2500 (downstairs on the other end of the house). I want the same SSID transmitted from both routers.
How do I configure the E2500 to transmit the same SSID as the E4500 to I ahve a consistant signal over the whole house?
I'm using the e4200 in a big old house with lots of walls, including rooms separated with brick. Wiring access points would be difficult given the problem of pulling wires. I do have lots of kids and devices connected including DirecTv, iphones, ipads, laptops, and PS3. Is there a range extender? Do I care if an extender only supports 2.4Mhz if I use the same SSID anyway?
I recently upgraded from E1500 to EA4500.Can I utilize my E1500 as a wireless range extender for the EA4500?I would like to setup my E1500 in my back bedroom to repeat the signal of the EA4500 in my living room. Can this be done wirelessly without connecting an ethernet cable between the two routers?
I have 8mbs down/1 mbs up service through a cable modem (WOW). We've been using a WRT320N wireless router with great success. I haven't checked true transfer rates, but when I do a speed test (url...), I pretty consistently get the speeds we are paying for. There's a room I wanted to use as an office but the signal didn't reach there. I just set up a WRE54G range expander. It is talking to the router and my compter. I have internet access but the speeds are considerably slower (<1mbs down/<0.4 mbs up) than what I get on the other computer that's talking directly to the router. I've looked for specs on data rates on the WRE54G and can't find them, but I can't image they're that slow. Can this be because I'm using a G expander with an N router?
Unfortunately, despite my best efforts to find a better alternative, where I live my only option for unlimited internet with any speed whatsoever is to tether my DROID DNA phone to my computer using the app PdaNet. I've been doing this for over a year now without any problems.I have an unlimited data plan through Verizon and although I only have 3G at my house, it is still far better than anything else I've found.
Recently I started playing the online game World of Warcraft. Obviously the speed isn't ideal, but it worked perfectly fine for about 3 weeks. One night the game started to get really slow and after a minute or two would freeze up entirely. When this happened, I would have an error message on my phone at the PdaNet screen that read "Communication with client has been broken." Despite restarting things, this continued to happen. I assumed that it was because the weather was bad outside, but the problem didn't go away the next day. When I noticed that my internet speed when browsing the web had slowed down as well I figured that although I supposedly have unlimited data, that Verizon must have slowed me down for crossing over a certain download barrier. I've heard that they do this.
So this went on for the next week until the first of the month when my data was reset through Verizon. Well I'm still having the same issue when trying to play the game. It will work alright for anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes, and then all of a sudden start to get slower and slower until it freezes completely and I have the "Communication with client has been broken" error screen on my phone. I'm not sure if my internet speed in general is back to normal or not because I haven't spent enough time online to know for sure, but at the moment it seems to be.
i've got remote desktop and it is amazingle useful.know of an app that lets me link into shared devices on my windows 7 p from my phone? I want to be able to access my hdd without having to be using remote desktop.

Since i know there's a "Repeater Operation Mode" in TL-WR700N Wireless Lan Mini Pocket Router, so what's the difference between TL-WA850RE WiFi Range Extender?I know the maxium speed support is different, but.... what else ?
I have decided to buy belkin n600 router. my question is can i connect Belkin wireless range extender n300 to belkin n 600 for beater coverage. is this possible ? if possible how many extender i can connect to the router and also can i connect extender with wire and wireless.
