I did an upgrade to my firmware on the x2000 dsl router and now i cannot download apps with my android phone, i have tried everything that i can think of.

1- When i enter to any website for example (Facebook), When i check remember me, It's not working if i exit and enter again ( No Cookies).
2- I can't download application in iPhone and Android phones.
I recently was instructed to block Facebook from a specific persons phone. I was able to block access to Facebook from the browser, but this person can still access Facebook via the mobile app. I have already placed m.facebook.com and facebook.com on the "no-go list" on my router, which like I said, specificaly blocks the browser on phone, but not the app. I can't seem to figure out how the app accesses the site and how to block it.I've already done some Googling, and read that port 9339 plays some kind of role. I don't know how true this is, but I tried it anyway, to no avail. I am not to savvy with ports so it could be my error.And before it is mentioned, this person cannot access cell data, as the phone does not get service, only WiFi.

I have CUWN, WLC 5508 is installed and APs are 1142. Network is working fine but I am facing the problem with Android phone which are not browsing for internet.
Android phones connectes with wi-fi, it takes IP from DHCP well, which is pingable from any node of network. even I got be GUI of WLC on Android, but when it goes to browes for internet the message displayed " Page cannot be disply".
In same scenario if configure the Public IP on Android Phone (Via DHCP or Static) then it runs the internet smoothly.
My samsung galaxy phone with android os connects to the weak signal of the far away router in stead of connecting til to range extender close by.Signal from extender is strong but the phone seems to have problems in obtaining the IP addres from the extender.Have returned to factory settings and made new setup - but still the same problem, and only with connecting tilthe Xyzel range extender 2205?
View 5 Replies View RelatedUnfortunately, despite my best efforts to find a better alternative, where I live my only option for unlimited internet with any speed whatsoever is to tether my DROID DNA phone to my computer using the app PdaNet. I've been doing this for over a year now without any problems.I have an unlimited data plan through Verizon and although I only have 3G at my house, it is still far better than anything else I've found.
Recently I started playing the online game World of Warcraft. Obviously the speed isn't ideal, but it worked perfectly fine for about 3 weeks. One night the game started to get really slow and after a minute or two would freeze up entirely. When this happened, I would have an error message on my phone at the PdaNet screen that read "Communication with client has been broken." Despite restarting things, this continued to happen. I assumed that it was because the weather was bad outside, but the problem didn't go away the next day. When I noticed that my internet speed when browsing the web had slowed down as well I figured that although I supposedly have unlimited data, that Verizon must have slowed me down for crossing over a certain download barrier. I've heard that they do this.
So this went on for the next week until the first of the month when my data was reset through Verizon. Well I'm still having the same issue when trying to play the game. It will work alright for anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes, and then all of a sudden start to get slower and slower until it freezes completely and I have the "Communication with client has been broken" error screen on my phone. I'm not sure if my internet speed in general is back to normal or not because I haven't spent enough time online to know for sure, but at the moment it seems to be.
i've got remote desktop and it is amazingle useful.know of an app that lets me link into shared devices on my windows 7 p from my phone? I want to be able to access my hdd without having to be using remote desktop.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor some weeks I have been trying to pair my Samsung Galaxy S2 with my Lenovo Thankpad SL500. The consistent message is "Unable to pair with [laptop]. Incorrect PIN or PASSWORD.
Well which is? PIN? or PASSWORD? - or does the system not know, so it's taking a guess? If it doesn't know, how can I possibly know?
Having read many articles about his on the www, I am still none the wiser as to what is causing this. What's wrong with the PIN or PASSWORD - is it too hot, or too cold? Wrong font face, colour or size? Wrong latitiude, longitude or elevation? Wrong time of day or month? Are the auspices in general not favourable? Am I facing in the wrong direction as I type? Have I chosen the wrong weight/color of paper for my printer? Is my body odor unacceptable? Is the length of grass in my lawn not quite right? Oh, the number of options is so large - where does one start?
Oh, and before I forget - assuming I can find what constitutes a correct PIN or PASSWORD, where does one set it? btw pairing this phone with the media player in my 10 year old car works immediately and flawlessly!
I received my upgrade yday from shop. I'm using galaxy 11s but have now galaxy 111 x my 11s is still connected to fone as hubby got it but I can't get wifi on new fone x iv sky broadband. does it take 24 hrs or what's wrong.

Scenario 1: I am using Samsung Bada (wave 1), connected to the internet successfully and also any applications that require an internet connection including Samsung's app store. While, connecting via open networks like home wifi and other friends' wifi also worked without any issue. Scenario 2: Now I also have an android based Galaxy pocket: even after entering all the required proxy setting as mentioned above, I can access websites via browser but cannot access samsung's app store, google's play store, skype, sipdroid etc. I know it is nothing to do with the network administration as I am still accessing via my samsung wave but not via android. Is there anything like a network profile I need to assign for these applications?

I recently purchased a Cisco RV180W VPN router and would like to enable the VPN (specifically IPSec) capabilities so that I can connect via my Android 4.0 (Samsung Galaxy S3) phone. I need step by step instructions (I'm quite unfamiliar with Cisco routers) to configure both the router and my Android phone to do this. I've actually been able to configure the RV180W to work with PPTP (and connect via my phone with PPTP), but would prefer to use IPSec.

I get upnp not available when I run the internet connection test. With that, i am not able to connect to Modern Warfare 3 online. Haven't tried other games yet but i sign in to the play station network without any problems.
I have Upnp enabled on my router. I have tried port range forwarding and DMZ settings to my ps3. and still not working.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got a Samsung Epic 4G and whenever I leave the wifi connected on my phone at home, it seems to never go into sleep so the battery drains overnight doing nothing. If I turn off wifi and leave it on the 3G network, battery barely drains at all. Is there something in my router that could be keeping my phone awake when it's connected. I've tested it on a friends wifi network and my phone sleeps just fine, it's only when I'm connected to my DIR-655.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust set-up a new X2000, loaded latest firmware 2.0.01, configured it via the web UI ('Browser based utility' as per the manual). Connected OK to my ADSL broadband by O2. Configured wireless, everything OK. Funny it doesn't need a user name, only a password, my prevoius WAG160N could be configured for both.Now I want to configure the Parental Controls, BUT apart from my computer name and an Android phone name, all I see in the Target Device ADD button pop-up are a list of repeated 'Network Device'. There seems no way to be able to distinguish which is which device (mix of XP & Win 7 PC's and HP Printer through a separate switch), as it does not show IP address or MAC.
I thought I may have better luck with the Cisco Connect software (which I didn't use to set-up the router). I downloaded the latest version 1.4.11194.0, and ran this on another computer with wireless. Apart from reconfiguring my static IP address to DHCP, and then connecting through DHCP, the software said it could not configure my router. So it never gets to a point where it installs any program on the computer so that I can configure Parental Controls. How do I get the router to show ALL the computer names in the list rather than 'Network Device' or is there a way to distinguish which 'Network Device' is which computer?
Any upload somewhere of this version of wrt610n firmware! I really need it cause I have to downgrade to that one in order to use my 1TB hard drives.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with a brand new E4200 router. My E4200 can connect no issue with the following devices: Ipad, AppleTV, Dell Laptop, Ibm Laptop. It is also wired connected to my home PC. Internet works fine and file sharing/network works good for all the above devices.
The problem is that My wife and I's Phone can not detect the wifi network and can not connect to it. The SSID broadcast is enabled on both frequencies (2.4 and 5). I have try configuring the network manually on both the Android phones..it does not work.. it records the data but keep sayng the network is out of range (although I'm right next to the router). I hva eplayed with various channels on both frequecies and played also with the MTU size.One of the Android phone is Garmin the other Acer Liquid...different brand running both Android 2.2...
Firmware on E4200 is 1.0.02
All settings reset to Auto/MIxed for now.
WPA2 is enable with security key
SSID is enabled on both frequency
no MAC address filtering is setup
Both my phones can detect other networks and can connect fine to friends and family networks...So I suspect a compatibility problem between router an Android..I have contacted Linksys support twice with no avail. I have contacted both Acer and Garmin...they refer me to linksys
I set up the e1500 and everything worked well, my download speed over the wifi was something like 50mps, now its down to .3 mps over the wifi. When I'm hardwired to the router the speed goes back up and everything is fine. The only problem is the wifi. Its not the ISP because my roommates aren't having a problem with their wifi at all. I haven't changed anything on my computer except updated some drivers since I set up the router. My network card drivers are up to date and so is the router's drivers. I'm also doing all this about 5 feet away from the router.
I have a Dell XPS L502x running win 7 64 bit.
I have the following setup at home:
-E4200 connected via Ethernet cable (100Mbs) to local ISP for internet access
-E4200 connected via Ethernet cable (1Gps) to my desktop PC
-E4200 connected via wireless (5Ghz with WPA2 personal) to my laptop
In general, everything works fine, I can download files from internet to my PC close to the maximum speed limit (80-90Mbs), the wireless connection goes up to 300Mbs and it can achieve around 10-14MB/s file transfer between PC and laptop.A lot of the time the wireless connection to my laptop is used for HD content streaming from the desktop PC. It works very well until I start downloading files to my PC with speed greater than 50Mbs, when the wireless connection speed drops very fast to about 500KB/s which results in interruptions on the video streaming. At the same time the router’s web interface reacts much slower than usual, as if the router’s CPU is overloaded.
I’ve read this follow up review on Small net builder url...and it’s clear that there are some issues when taking E4200 to the limit, but in my case it’s nowhere near that.
I'm having an issue with my laptop. Although, from my provider, it should be possible to establish a connection at 25'000 kbit/s (download), max speed is at about 800 kbit/s. I'm only about 20 feet away from where the router is located and I don't use any phones (except for a cell phone). I read on this board, that I might have to change the wireless settings on the router and change the radio band but didn't manage to do so. I'm using Mac osx and a wireless connection.
