View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with my Netgear wireless moderm/router DGNG3700. since getting home tonight my internet connection has dropped out 3 times. The moderm /router is only 2weeks old and I have rang the Netgear technical support 4 times. The man I spoke to tonight said they are having trouble with this model and he told me to get the DGNG3700 version 2. I have changed the configerations and am very frustrated with the whole thing. Should I get a different Model altogether.

This seems to happen after I upgraded the firmware. Before that, did not get a complaint from my children or wife. Before I squeeze the last drop out of this lemon.
I have bought a WAG320 & ever since I've had it the ADSL line keeps dropping every few hours. The LAN network is fine & I have 7 computers connected to the router wirelessly. When I press the re-set button on the back of the router everything is fine for a few hours then it starts doing it again?
View 9 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to setup a local DNS server to manage small office local-only domain names for our servers. i have the DNS working properly (resolving local machines and using the ISP dns if it can't). so i put the DNS server ip into the "Static DNS 1" field of the router settings. the other 2 static dns fields are empty.the problem is that the router is still using the ISP dns server as the primary and my local dns server as the secondary. i verify this in two places. first, if i go to the "status" tab, DNS 1 shows the ISP server while DNS 2 shows my local DNS server. secondly, if i connect to the wireless device with a linux-based machine, the /etc/resolv.conf file shows the nameserver ips in the same incorrect order.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought this Tenda wifi router and connected it.It's a chinese one and the user interface is not much friendly. It works fine but sometimes if u play around with it u will lose the settings you inserted in to it and you will need to reconfigure it.
My problem is my ISP seems to renew the IP's issued to their customers automatically every 10 hrs from the last login. But every other router keeps the connection alive but my router doesn't. It needs to be restarted in order to get the internet back online.simply said,u need to restart the router every 10 hrs.
BTW Never buy Tenda routers.
I have been using DIR 615 at home for around one year. Now I notice that after some time of continuous usage (say around 3 4 hours) the Wireless network is lost. Thereafter only reboot brings it back. I checked for any latest firmware upgrade from admin page, but it says device already has the latest.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have two WAP4410N wireless access points powered using Power-Over-Ethernet. Both are running the latest available firmware version (2.0.5.3)They are both connected to the same LAN and broadcasting the same SSID with a WPA2 password.
One is using channel 1, while the other is using channel 11.There is coverage overlap where the signal from both access points hover around -75db to -85db while standing in the same physical location.DHCP is disabled, and is being provided by another network device.
Every day or so, devices can connect and authenticate to the access points, but are not granted an IP address (and subsequently are unable access to the LAN or Internet). For devices that had already retrieved an IP address prior to the issue exhibiting itself, the devices simply stop communicating with LAN and Internet.
However, I can still access each access point's web admin interface from the LAN.
If I reboot both devices, the problem vanishes and devices are once again able to get an IP address and connect to the LAN and Internet. Are these symptoms of signal interference between the two WAPs or is this a completely different issue?
I've needed to power-cycle my router every 2 hours. Usually it can last 2 weeks before needing to power-cycle (a process I've done for the past 2 or 3 years). This actually happened before for me a couple of months ago, but I did a firmware update along with a reset, and it looked like everything went back to normal.
But last Saturday I had to power-cycle it twice, then it didn't have any problems all day Sunday. But yesterday it went back to needing to be power-cycle it every 2 hours. My computer is physically connected to the router and is working perfectly no problems at all. But my parents use the wireless for their PC and laptop, and I use it for my 360, PS3, and Wii, so having to power-cycle it every 2 hours would be a pain.
I was wondering if this is a sign of the wireless in my router dying and in need of a new one, or is there some possible fixes I can do in order to repair it.

I Bought this w8968 a month back.. It was working alright till a few days back. When i connect and start browsing or downloading, it goes OK.. but after a few hours(sometimes 2, sometimes 1), It stops responding and I couldn`t ping 192.168.1.1 either through WiFi/Ethernet. Status indicators for DSL/WIFI/Internet/LAN all glowing as though nothing wrong with them..? The router is not that much hot when this happens.. When i switch off the router and then on, The Prob gets solved only to reappear again in 1/2/3 hrs..
I got my new comcast connection and using CISCO DPC3008 cable modem and EA6500 Wifi Smart Router. Internet works fine and then suddently the internet goes away. Further investigation shows EA6500 Wifi router just reboots every few hours and then wifi devices don't reconnect like it used to do with previous routers.

I have a Cisco Linksys E1000 wireless router. It has been working perfectly for the last few months until yesterday when I noticed none of my wireless devices could connect. The SSID was still being broadcast and my computers that were connected through an ethernet cable were still able to access the internet fine. Eventually I pressed the red reset button on the back of the router, which reset my router name, password, etc. I set everything back up and was able to connect again. Several hours later the wireless stopped working again. When I launched the Cisco Connect software I was prompted to update some software (possibly the router firmware) so I did that. After that I was able to connect to wireless again. This morning I woke up and wireless was not working again. This time I changed the password for the router and then I was able to connect to wireless again. I tried to change the router password back to the original password and I couldn't connect anymore. When I changed the router password back to the new password I could connect again.

I got a new TP-Link TL-WDR4300, connected it to my online pure sine wave UPS like I did with my previous routers with no problem. After about 24 hours, router crashes - no access to web interface, no internet (wired or wireless), must reboot to get it to work again.Router was replaced, same problem with new router. The firmware is the latest one and is customized for Israel because of 5GHz limitations.I was told by the representative in Israel that I should try to connect it to another AC outlet instead of the UPS.
I have a couple of 114n APs in my network and the CAPWAP uptime and AP uptime are almost the same. But there is one which always resets after some time. I have moved across to another switch port but the issue persists. I have other 1141 and 1131's on this switch and no problems. The keep alives between the AP and Controller is regular. I can't get more info from the traps as the reason code is always;
" AP associated to Controller is UP. Reason: Radio interface reset due to Init"
"AP associated to Controller is down. Reason: Radio interface reset"
"AP associated to Controller is UP. Reason: Radio interface reset"
####Only 2ice was the reason code "Operator changed 11g mode". I have seen some posts about similar problems but there hasn't been any concrete solution provided.

Just bought a TL-WR940N and it was always loosing connection and freezing / locking up. I upgraded to the latest FW from the link below URL but it still freezes and loses connection to devices after 8-12 hours, keeps hanging up and pages sometime don't load.
The Port 80 port fowarding stops functioning after a few hours and requires the router to be rebooted to start forwarding again. The firmeware is the latest 1.0.04 Build 7. I require it to operate reliably for many days without intervention. I assume that it is a port forwarding problem because I can access the IP on my network from within my network even when I can't access it from outside my network. I am using the correct IP addresses as it sometimes works OK. A characteristic is that when I can't access the page it loads as completely blank white with no error message.

I'm having issues with DHCP server not dealing IP after few hours (varies between 1h and 8h) of torrent traffic. If no continuous torrent traffic is applied, the problem does not occur. New wireless devices connect to the wi-fi network, but get stuck on 'getting IP adress'. The problem is with DHCP service or the wireless network service. New wired devices receive IP. The problem is only with wireless devices. I have no additional wireless device, that I can configure the network settings on my own (only phones) to check if it works without DHCP server giving IP. Wired connection is stable, but the bandwidth usage curve becomes somewhat similar to a sinewave.
I did disable the hardware NAT because that feature made the router unstable and caused it to hang up within minutes.
I have a Linsys E3200 router for almost a year. It's been working fine until recently. It kept losing internet connection every a couple hours or even shorter. I have to power cycle the router in order to make it to work. However, sometimes that won't work either. I also tried to restore the router to the factory default but that doesn't seem to work.
I have updated the router with the latest firmware (1.04). I am using a cable connection and it never gives me any problem if I just connect my computer to it. I also test my network with another old netgear router that works just fine.
Any problems with the guest network on the ea4500 with the cloud firmware? I am losing guest clients after about 24 hours and the re-authentication fails. you enter the guest password and nothing happens until you reboot the router.

The only thing that works on the internet is traceroutes at the command prompt which function normally. The solution is that I have to reboot and then everything returns to normal until a few hours later when it happens again. There are no error messages on any of my browsers. The page just goes white immediately. When I try to retrieve my email, I get a message about the TCP/IP isn't working.

I've bought a D-Link because i heard it's the best on the market and i play online poker so i need a stable connection all day long and more important i need my IP to remain at one value for a long time and not change every 12 hours(i have dynamic IP)
Every few hours, the WAN just shuts off. If you were connected to it when this happens, you cannot reconnect until you have reset the router; you can't even find the SSID. If you were not connected when this happens, you can connect just fine. This happens with all devices in the house, my laptop, my DAP-1522, my cell phone, and my brother's Mac (SMH, sometimes I think we aren't related...). I am running version 2.00NA on B1 firmware.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe've got a central office (actually quite small) where several IPSec connections connect to. Two of these connections are Cisco 881 routers. One of them works fine, the other craps out after 24 hours (coincidentally also the IKE key lifetime). When I mean "craps out", it means the VPN worked fine from the get go, until 24 hours later. Only a reload will bring back the VPN tunnel. I've verified my PFS and DPD configurations are solid, because these kind of symptoms would most likely occur when these configurations aren't in order.
The two 881 configurations are quite similar. The only differences between the two are some details in the PPPoE configurations and (quite obviously) the IP address space for the two sites. Both operate on the premise of a point to point connection (no multipoint stuff going on here).

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy internet (wired and wireless) usually works fine, but occasionally (read: every few days to weeks) the connection will suddenly black out for a period of time, anywhere from an hour to a day. I have tried resetting both my router and modem, and going through all the settings on my laptop, but I'm pretty sure it's not my computer, as no other devices can connect either. During the blackouts, when I look at the modem, the internet light will turn on for a second, then go off and then the red "alarm" light (aka "something is wrong" light) starts blinking like crazy, and this keeps repeating. This resolves itself after anywhere from a few hours to a whole day and everything is normal again. The light show, and the fact that I can't find any other problems, leads me to believe that it could be a problem with my provider (or the network itself) and not a hardware or software problem, but I can't be sure of this. Also, during the blackouts, I can connect to the network, but it shows that limited connectivity symbol (exclamation mark thing) and says no internet.
