View 1 RepliesAny way to simply have someone phone my computer such that they're on a cell and I'm on my mic? It seems like such a simple thing for this day and age, but my attempt at a Google search is resulting in things that aren't exactly what I mean, such as where I can phone them first, but would have to incur charges, as if I'm using a cell myself instead of a mic. Any way, a site, or a software, to make such a setup work? To be clear, someone using a cell phone--not a mic and not a computer--would somehow "phone" my computer/a software I have, and I would hear them through the speakers as usual and communicate by my PC mic--not a phone and not a cell.

Everything I see on the Microsoft site has instructions to download it ON the computer operating XP. I can't just find the file. I need to download it on a laptop operating Win 7 then transfer it to the XP computer.
I was wondering if theres like a max download speed on my computer, im moving to a new apartment soon and i dont wanna get a 200mbs broadband if i cant utilize it on my pc. [code]
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been meaning to ask this for some time. I have several wired pc's and several wireless pc's on my home LAN. I tend to use one of my wireless notebooks the most. I choose to keep a relatively small HDD in it, so I don't use it for storage. I have SHARED folders on my wired PC's that I use for storage. So when I download a file using my laptop, I save it to one of my wired PC's shared folders. The problem is it is really downloading to my laptop first and THEN simply moving the file to the shared folder. It is using the resources twice. I would like the laptop to initiate the download to a networked shared folder and that download be independent of the laptop from that point, so if I were to even shut the laptop off, the download would still continue to the networked shared folder.

I have a Verizon MiFi access point in my house with a 10GB monthly cap. I need a program that I can install on a single computer that will allow say, 100MB per day data transfer, then not allow any more internet access on that computer till the next day. I'm OK with computers, but not a guru so simplicity of setup & use is important. Most programs I've seen are geared for complex network monitoring by IT pros, and the ones geared for monitoring kids mainly restrict access by time spent online, whereas I need to cap usage by the amount used each day. Computer is an Acer laptop and an eMachines desktop, both using wireless access and both running Windows 7.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen connected to my router on my main desktop, I get download speeds of about .3-.85 mbps, I have comcast and a linksys N router, as well as a N wireless adapter in my desktop. If I use my laptop, I get around 10 mbps download speed, (Speeds are as of [URL]) but they still remain at .3 mbps on my desktop. I have tried two different wireless adapters in my computer. One is the Linksys AE2500 Dual Band N adapter, and the other is an ASUS N13 N Adapter. I have gotten the latest drivers of both adapters, but speeds stayed very low. When I connected the computer via ethernet cable, it ran at 16mbps. So I think that something must be wrong with some wireless settings, since I've tried 2 different adapters and was getting the same result, unless both were faulty I suppose. I also don't think it's my router's issue, because the wireless is working great on other wireless devices. I am using windows 7 on the desktop.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI had recently upgraded my computer, which currently looks like this:
CPU: i5 3570
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP
RAM: G.Skill 16GB DDR3 1600MHz
HDD: Seagate ST1000DM003 1TB Barracuda + Seagate 320GB Barracuda
GFX: Sapphire HD4850 512MB Dual Slot Fan
PSU: OCZ StealthXtream 500W
(The bits in bold were the upgraded parts, up from an AMD Athlon64X2 6000+)
For some really strange reason, my web browsing has been ridiculously slow, with the words "Waiting for [website]" always showing up in the bottom corner of Chrome for a good 10-20 seconds before the website loads. This happens to every website I visit, bar Facebook (secret Facebook virus?). It's especially bad on shopping websites such as eBay, taking upwards of a minute to load pages. I have tried Internet Explorer and the same thing is happening.
My downloads, on the other hand, have been unaffected by the upgrade, with download speeds averaging 800KB/s.
If it matters, my current modem/router is a D-LINK DSL-G604T; my other devices work perfectly fine on this modem, with browsing speeds being faster on my 2G iPod Touch than my desktop computer.
I currently use Avira Internet Security 2012 as my anti-virus.
I also use these extensions in Chrome (if it matters):
4chan Plus 2.5.5
Adblock Plus (Beta) 1.2
LastModified 1.1.2
Neater Bookmarks 0.9.4
PhotoZoom for Facebook 1.1208.30.1
Session Buddy 3.0.16
Xmarks Bookmark Sync 1.0.22
Youtube Ratings preview 2.0
I have tried disabling all add-ons and the speed is still the same
In the middle of writing this, I decided to download Firefox, which has improved on my browsing speed somewhat, but still has hiccups here and there (Facebook takes forever to load in Firefox). But having been a Chrome user for a long time, I would like to stick with it.
Using cell phone as a modem via bluetooth.. is there anyway to hook this connection up to a wireless router so i can use it throughout the house? Works fine on this computer, but i just don't know how i would hook it up correctly to work with other computers? We are able to connect to one or the other and can print when connected to the home network or we can surf when connected to the Pantech. We can connect to both networks at the same time, but when we do we can neither print or surf.. It cannot find the printer and does not access the internet at all. Is it possible to do this without buying additional hardware
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to connect to my Motorola Droid 2 cell phone--using my home network--it just cycles between "obtaining IP address" and "remembered.secured with WEP", then back to "obtaining IP address", etc.I have connected in the past with no problem, so it had the password in the phone, but I followed the troubleshooting advice at the Droid 2 site and "forgot" that contact, and reconnected, reinputting the password. Still the same thing.

Instead of using the router, I want the AE-2500 to access my HotSpot wifi on my cell phone. I go through the AE2500 installation and Device Manager shows it is installed properly. However, I do not see the adapter in my list of available wireless connections and I'm unabley to disconnect my router connection. I keep clicking disconnect but it never does.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with my work laptop. I'm just setting up a wireless connection for the first time. I bought the Linksys E1000. I have used this laptop at work and at hotels for a 54 MbPS connection. I set up the Linksys at home. It sees the network and will tell me that it is connection at 54 MbPS. Then it quickly goes down to 11 then 5.5 then 2. Eventually it runs so slow that I time out of the security portal at work because its so slow. Occasionally it even loses the network and has to find it again. I'm only about 20 feet away from where the router is located. I have hung up all cordless phones and turned off my cell phone.

timeouts wait-release 2

dial-peer voice 201 pots destination-pattern 9T port 0/0/0 and I can see it pick up.
I was under the impression that an FXO card didn't have any clue about inside/outside etc, all it knew was that it was getting a signal to ring.

Let say they are 10.1.1.0/24, and 10.1.2.0/24,I want to route 10.1.1.0/24 traffic using 3G Network A.A.A.A Cell0/0/0,and route 10.1.2.0/24 traffic using LTE network, Negotiated IP Cell0/1/0. We're talking about only the default routes here.
