I have netbook with win xp It is connected wirelessly to modem the internet was working until we upgraded the modem , now i see on the netbook that it is connected to internet but when i open internet page it dispays server not found I tried the answers posted to repair ip or winsock but it didn't work
View 20 RepliesThere are 2 laptops (Windows XP and Windows Vista), 3 iPhones and a PS3 in my house which all run on WiFi (Linksys) and normally do so without any problems. Well, yesterday I woke up to find that when I looked at my connection status all of these were showing that they had 100% Internet connection but none of them will actually connect. My phone only tells me that it has no connection when I try and open Safari or any other app that uses Internet and my computer says that it Cannot Display Webpage.I have had this problem about 3 1/2 months ago and was able to have it fixed over by calling my Internet service provider and the Linksys customer support.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am getting the error message "internet explorer cannot display the webpage", my computer tells me i am connected to my wireless and that internet is available but it will not open any webpages, no matter which browser i try. I have disabled all firewalls and run diagnostics but it just tells me there is a problem with my router, despite the connection being perfect for other devices. My computer is relatively new and i'm sure its not a virus as i have run different anti-virus and malware softwares.

I connected to one, then I went to the little bars to make sure it's actually connected, It says "Internet Access" (Windows 7) Which means it's connected. Then I clicked on Internet Explorer, to go on the Internet, and It says.. "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" Then I clicked on "Diagnose Connection problem" It started to detect the problem.. When it was finished it said.. "Website (Yahoo!) is online but isn't responding to connection attempts."
I went to Tools, Internet Options, LAN Settings, and I checked the First two boxes. Where it says "Address" I put in [URL]then I went back, and went on the Internet but It still says ---"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" Then I went back to Tools, Internet Options, and took off [URL]then tried again, then I went back to the Internet but it still said the same thing saying-----"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" Then I clicked on "Diagnose Connection problem" and it ---started detecting the problem.. and when it was finished detecting it said...---"Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings."
You only want "Automatically detect settings" checked. The second check box if for a configuration script or the like to setup IE settings. That is really only used by company's that want specific home pages and other settings set to match their networks.If anything is checking in the "Proxy Server" area, I would uncheck it as you won't go through a proxy since you are connecting to a hotspot. It is pretty rare for public locations to use proxy servers.I connected to a hotspot that is available for Me to connect to. It works fine with the ethernet cable. It works fine wirelessly if I use my mobile phone as a hotspot as it's a HTC HD 2 and works as a router on the go, through the phone's internet. I've restored the computer to the earliest date available and no luck.
I am using CISCO ASA 5505. Client PC with Windows XP can use IE to make the VPN connection normally.However, client PC with Windows 7 cannot use IE to make the VPN connection.It just show the error of "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

My connection on my wireless picks up great and shows signal strength as excellent. I took it to a place that was offering free check ups and they said that I caught a virus which I never seen any sign of catching a virus when it worked and that it had wiped out one of my hard drives and they could fix it for $229.00. I don't have that kind of money so I don't know what to do.

We have put one web server out of service in the farm to make sure that this isn't a result of stickyness not quite working. We have tested extensively by going directly to the web server directly without the load balancer and cannot reproduce the problem but we can produce the issue within a few minutes when going to the load balanced address. I installed a new Media link MWN-WAPR150N router and I can connect two laptops and an i Pad wireless but when I try to access the Internet through a Dell Dimension 4550 desktop which is directly connected to the router, I get the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." My browser can get to the E3200 (192.168.1.2) when connected via wireless, but not when connected via ethernet cable. 2. When going to connect wirelessly, the 2GHz connection is visible but the 5 GHz connection is not (I have them named differently). How do I see both wireless connections?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a network with a 2003 windows server and around 60 XP computers. I also have 2 different gateways. I am trying to access a webpage "eparts.rmpparts.com". When I enter the address it comes up to the page that says "IE cannot display the webpage".I have treid and both gateways and same result. I am also not able to ping the address from the PC within my LAN.I then went to a different network "not within my LAN" and I am able to access the site without any problem. I have accessed it from my phone also without any problems.I have tried to get to this page from the server and also around 5 other computers within the LAN and the same problem each time.I have security settings very low and also the firewalls are off. I tried on a computer that is connected to my LAN with no luck. I then disconnected that same computer and connected it to a different modem not within the LAN and had no prob getting to the site with the same PC.So I know it must have something to do with my LAN but I have no idea what it could be. I have tried everything I can think of and same result each time.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI got new internet installed in my apartment, intending to use the same WAP as I did on the old network. The only thing that changed from the old network to the new is the cable modem, which is identical to the old one. Currently, the WAP does not connect to the internet, although I can connect through an ethernet cable to the modem itself. My theory is that the modem is set to a static gateway, while the WAP is not. To try to fix this, I attempted to access the default gateway at 192.168.2.1. Of course, I couldn't remember the stupid password, so I tried different passwords with no results.
Now when I try to access the same IP, it loads for a few minutes, then says 'cannot display the webpage' and gives an option to diagnose connection problems. I know the internet still works, because I can go to any other page I choose. Diagnosis produces the following: 'Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (192.168.2.1) is not responding' (no error code given). Maybe this is a stupid question, but was there a limit to the number of times I could try a password? Additionally, I can't get to 192.168.2.1 on a different computer, on a different network, either. When I try the ipconfig command, the default gateway line comes up blank.
My laptop says that it is connected to my home wireless home network but no web pages seem to load yet when I connect to my neighbours connection using the same machine it connects and the browser loads instantly? I have made sure that the detect proxy settings box is ticked, and tried to reset my router, could it be a problem with my router and not my laptop?

I bought a new laptop yesterday and created a new network on it to establish internet connection for it. Now however, the internet is not working on another laptop or the XBOX 360. The older laptop even says it's connected but the the brower pops up, it just says cannot display webpage. I feel like I've tried every strategy that I know of and it still doesn't work.

The other day the internet just stopped loading pages. It shows that it is connect to my router, and when I try to go to a page, it just says loading. I tried to connect with the ethernet chord from the modem and it does the same thing. I think there is a connection, but just wont load pages because the avast will update the virus definitions. I've tried to update the drive, reset the ipconfig. One thing I noticed is that the ip6v says not connected but the ip4v says internet. If I can do anything to get more info I surely will post it back up here, I just need to get my connection back up

They both access the router via wifi and wired, but neither appear in the device list any longer. The netbook has a wireless card built in, and the desktop has usb wireless card. Both of devices are running xp (both are the only compters in my home ran on xp), and these are the only two devices that will not connect to the internet wirelessly, except for when the wireless is unsecure these two devices connect fine, but once I enable a password these two devices say connected with an excellent signal strength, but once I open up the brower no web page comes up (just a message saying server not found). These two computers are able to install automatic program updates from over the internet, but still no web page will come up.

I'm trying to setup a DVR camera system and two web page server boxes behind a Linksys WRT54GL. The problem I have is that all of the devices want to use port 80 to generate the web page. Individually, I can get the boxes to work, but when I try to put it all together everything seems to fall apart. I've got to the DVR set to External port 80, Internal Port 80 IP address 192.168.1.254. The web page server box I try to set to External port 8001, Internal port 80, IP address 192.168.1.200, when I try to save this setting I get the error message Internet IP address and LAN IP address are in the same subnet. If I change the web page server settings to External port 8001, Internal port 8001, IP address 192.168.1.200, it will save the settings, but it won't work that way because it won't actually generate a web page when I try to access that port.The error message doesn't seem to make since as all I'm changing is the port number, not the IP address or subnet mask.

My internet used to work just fine, but after I reinstalled my OS a couple of months ago I started having a funny problem. My internet will randomly stop working, I'll visit facebook, check a blog, and then i'll try to check my email and the page won't load. Then my internet won't work again until I reset my computer. The weirdest part is that Windows acts there's nothing the matter. The little icon in the notification bar still says it's connected and if I click repair, windows tells me there's nothing to repair. My wife has a different laptop and she's still able to access the internet fine after I've been kicked off. I've checked for a router firmware update and it's up to date. I bought a usb wireless-n adapter thinking my laptop's adapter might be bad and that didn't work. I considering buying a new router, but I'm not confident that will solve the problem since my wife's internet is still fine and because my internet works again when I reset, so it's not like the router is blocking my IP right?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI did nothing different to my computer. It was online fine and then an hour later when I came back, it wouldn't load any pages. I have a DSL modem and a wireless router that also connects another family member's desktop to the Internet. (As well as our phones via wifi.). The connection is fine on the other PC through a wireless adapter (both are desktops), and on the wifi the phones work perfectly so I know the modem and router aren't the problem. But even though my desktop says it's connected (not wirelessly, it directly connects to the router.), no pages will load. If I use chrome browser it eventually tells me this webpage is not available regardless of which page I try to load, or sometimes it's telling me no data received - unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data. Yet oddly a couple of times after forever it seemed to half load a couple pages. Internet Explorer just keeps trying to load pages forever with blank white page as a result.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a server 2003 r2 machine connected on a LAN.the server is used for data storage and the local workstations use the data on mapped drives.When the server is connected to the internet ... all of the workstations on the lan partially lose the internet.When i ping google while the server is connected to the internet I get 50% to 75% loss.When I disable the LAN adapter on sevrer- alll the workstations on lan have 0% loss.When I enable lan adapter on server and configure tcpip and for primary dns i enter 1.1.1.1 ,I still get 0% loss,when I enter 8.8.8.8 for primary dns the problem persists/It kind of sounds like a virus on server causing very heavy traffic?
