My laptop says that it is connected to my home wireless home network but no web pages seem to load yet when I connect to my neighbours connection using the same machine it connects and the browser loads instantly? I have made sure that the detect proxy settings box is ticked, and tried to reset my router, could it be a problem with my router and not my laptop?

It works fine with the ethernet cable. It works fine wirelessly if I use my mobile phone as a hotspot as it's a HTC HD 2 and works as a router on the go, through the phone's internet. I've restored the computer to the earliest date available and no luck.
My laptop now is using windows 7 operating system. When i want to use wifi it connected but cannot access the webpage. I am using wifi from my android device. Before this my laptop is working normally. I can access to the webpage like usual. But since three days ago it happen. what is going on with my laptop or my android device. But my android device can access to internet normally.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a wireless network (cable modem and router) set up in my home, which all of my devices are able to connect to the internet just fine, all but two; one is a netbook and the other is a desktop. The netbook has a wireless card built in, and the desktop has usb wireless card. Both of devices are running xp (both are the only compters in my home ran on xp), and these are the only two devices that will not connect to the internet wirelessly, except for when the wireless is unsecure these two devices connect fine, but once I enable a password these two devices say connected with an excellent signal strength, but once I open up the brower no web page comes up (just a message saying server not found). These two computers are able to install automatic program updates from over the internet, but still no web page will come up.

My internet used to work just fine, but after I reinstalled my OS a couple of months ago I started having a funny problem. My internet will randomly stop working, I'll visit facebook, check a blog, and then i'll try to check my email and the page won't load. Then my internet won't work again until I reset my computer. The weirdest part is that Windows acts there's nothing the matter. The little icon in the notification bar still says it's connected and if I click repair, windows tells me there's nothing to repair. My wife has a different laptop and she's still able to access the internet fine after I've been kicked off. I've checked for a router firmware update and it's up to date. I bought a usb wireless-n adapter thinking my laptop's adapter might be bad and that didn't work. I considering buying a new router, but I'm not confident that will solve the problem since my wife's internet is still fine and because my internet works again when I reset, so it's not like the router is blocking my IP right?

I want to connect it to one of the ports from a CiscoASA5505 router because I need to connect 4 additional PC's and the ASA is out of available ports.I am trying to connect it through an ethernet port from my laptop.At first I configured the TCP/IP settings as getting the IP and DNS's automatically and but I was able to enter the setup by entering the default IP address (192.168.1.1).After 10 minutes it got disconnected and could not connect again.I get Status: Limited or no connectivity.If I try to type the IP address manually (192.168.1.1) I can ping the router successfully but the setup webpage never opens.what I need to do in order to access the setup webpage when I connect the router directly to my laptop?

I have tried a couple different wireless adapters and it has persisted. I have had my laptop next to me to see if they both lost connectivity at the same time to see if maybe it was my router or modem losing internet but my laptop remains connected fine. My connection on my wireless picks up great and shows signal strength as excellent. I took it to a place that was offering free check ups and they said that I caught a virus which I never seen any sign of catching a virus when it worked and that it had wiped out one of my hard drives and they could fix it for $229.00. I've already set to obtain IP address automatically and still not enabled. The wireless connection was working fine a few days ago, and seems to have been reset by the ISP causing these issues. Other devices are also unable to get internet though they can detect and connect to the router. Here is my ipconfig/all. Note: I am in China so my settings are possibly different than what you're used to.

I see the router and the modem are working just fine as usual and even the guy from comcast says there is nothing wrong with the internet connection itself.The problems I am having right now are
- I can only access to Facebook, Spotify, but nothing else.
- It sometimes randomly comes back and everything works but then it only lasts for a few minutes-hours and it goes off and won't work again. I've tried resetting the modem, router, and I even tried creating a new network but nothing worked out so far.I currently own a mac and a windows 7 laptop.
When I looked up the internet connection status, for the packets that I received 236, I only receive 30-40. When I click repair, it said the IP address already renewed. However, the internet still not working. When I use my laptop to browse the internet, it said the same thing, internet connected but cannot browse at all.
I tried so many things, such as clearing the DNS cache, releasing and renewing IP address, I did set the properties of the wireless connection to obtain DNS and IP automatically, I tried pinging, I turned off all my firewalls, I tried system restore, but still not working.
I run cmd /all, it got the following information:

Im having some problems connecting to the internet. my router is perfectly connected but i cant have wireless internet connection. when i plug the cable in the wall socket and in my computer, it works perfectly. But when i try to plug it in my router to have wireless, it doesnt work. Ive tried resetting the router or installing it again. but it doesnt work.

Upon plugging everything back up - my desktop internet works fine, but the laptop says "Connected but no internet access". I've tried working on it for 2 hours unplugging and replugging cords back up and I can't get any internet access on my laptop. I am using a cable modem. Currently I have the blue ethernet cord running from the modem, directly into my computer. I also have a grey cord that apparently was plugged into the router somehow but I don't remember how exactly I had this one plugged up. The cable modem only has one jack, for "ethernet". The router is a Linksys WRT54G and has 4 numbered (1-4) jacks in the back and then one jack for "internet". The laptop is running Windows 7, and the desktop (which the internet runs fine on right now) is running Vista.

On the day of the switch I lost my internet and have not had it since.Countless calls to AOL, line checks done and all showing as clear. Technician out today and no internal faults found.The internet light on the router is flashing orange, occassionally turning green but not holding. Router problems have been ruled out. Laptop shows communication with router but there is no internet access. The network sharing center confirms I am connected to my network, and that I am connected to the internet; however, I can not connect to the internet with IE, chrome, or any other internet-based application. The icon in the bottom right also says I have internet access. As well, another ethernet-connected PC in the house works just fine, and my laptop has no trouble connecting through the wireless. I have switched the connection ports on the router between the two PCs and the problem still persists.Trouble shooter results without identifying any problems and trying to "set up a new connection or network" says "you are already connected to the internet". Ive checked the cable with this PC, and it works. i tried this:1.) Shut dowm your PC.2.) Unplug the power cord. 3.) If you have a laptop, remove the battery as well. 4.) Walk away from the problem for at least 30 minutes. 5.) When you return, reconnect battery and power cord.5.) Start as usual.6.) as gone all of a sudden. Checked cables, restarted both router and PC, and even rang provider with questions.. Router seems to be working fine as laptop and iphone both got internet access with the same router. The Local area connection icon showed limited on no connectivity snd so the provider renewed the IP manually and local area connection says its connected now but there is no internet access.. They suggest it could be something to do with firewall or something else blocking it but as far as I am concerned I did not make any changes to the pc the night before when it was actually proper connected.. The desktop pc is running windows XP and I tried downloading ethernet controller driver from the web and upgrading it but it did not improve the situation.
