Jan 10, 2013Im having some problems connecting to the internet. my router is perfectly connected but i cant have wireless internet connection. when i plug the cable in the wall socket and in my computer, it works perfectly. But when i try to plug it in my router to have wireless, it doesnt work. Ive tried resetting the router or installing it again. but it doesnt work.

Feb 21, 2012Current set up all worked fine for years (wireless Netgear router, ISP AOL ) until I changed my phone provider to AOL last week. On the day of the switch I lost my internet and have not had it since.Countless calls to AOL, line checks done and all showing as clear. Technician out today and no internal faults found.The internet light on the router is flashing orange, occassionally turning green but not holding. Router problems have been ruled out. Laptop shows communication with router but there is no internet access. This can not be a coincidence, I am sure something has gone wrong on the day of the switch since that is when the problem started.I am in really close range of the exchange and technician said I have good conectivity and wondered if there was a conflict issue somewhere.

Nov 5, 2012I have a pc that is connected to my router through an Ethernet cable. The network sharing center confirms I am connected to my network, and that I am connected to the internet; however, I can not connect to the internet with IE, chrome, or any other internet-based application. The icon in the bottom right also says I have internet access. As well, another ethernet-connected PC in the house works just fine, and my laptop has no trouble connecting through the wireless. I have switched the connection ports on the router between the two PCs and the problem still persists.Trouble shooter results without identifying any problems and trying to "set up a new connection or network" says "you are already connected to the internet". This issue occurred over night and had been working for over a year without issue. I have restarted the router as well as the pc, connected to the router and it shows the pc as "inactive"

Nov 30, 2012OS: WIN XP ?For some reason I am not able to access the internet even though I'm connected to the corporate router. When I do an ipconfig /all the Connection-specific DNS Suffix is missing. Not sure if that is part of the issue. I tried ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew and that did not resolve the issue.Another odd thing is when someone else logs into my computer they are able to access the internet through the corporate wifi.

Aug 5, 2011I'm connected to the internet with a bullet M2 and when I connect directly I have internet access. When I connect my linksys 160n router and plug in my computer I show a connection but can't access the internet. I can ping the bullet and my computer from the router and get a response. I've also borrower a wrt54g router from a friend and have the same problem, The bullet is in bridge mode. My computer is running xp pro.

Feb 3, 2013Linksys Wireless router connected but no access to the internet. I do not have a modem in my flat from ISP, only a cable, since the internet is set for every apartment in the building. I have a username and password that I use to connect. There is no problem connecting with the cable. I set up by Belkin wireless router and I'm actually connected to internet wireless but it only works if I also enable the primary ISP connection on my computer so my laptop is connected to internet without a cable. But this weird connection does not allow me to connect my phone to wireless or any other computer. Also the router settings site says not connected to internet and the internet light on Belkin is off.I have a Slovenian ISP -Amis, cable connection and Belkin Wireless modem, Avira Free antivirus.

Only when my laptop is connected directly to the modem, I have access to the internet (but ofcourse no wireless).

May 19, 2011My desktop recently broke so i bought my first laptop. I have AT&T DSL and i bought a new D-Link DSL-2640B modem/router so i could have wireless internet. I installed it and i was able to use it with the ethernet cable, however when i tried to use wifi, it worked for only about 2 minutes before it disconnected.. Now when i try again it says that it is connected (full 5 bars) but it also says there is no internet access and i cannot use the internet.
Also, before, with the old modem i was able to just connect the ethernet cable to the laptop and just start using the internet. Now i have to connect by putting in my username and password provided by my ISP almost like if it was dial up. I don't know why i have to do this now but not before.

Aug 25, 2011I have a Belkin G Wireless Router which until recently, apart from a few signal drop-outs, was working fine.A couple of weeks ago, I tried to connect to the internet but despite the icon on my netbook showing that my Wireless Network Connection is connected and has excellent strength, I am unable to open any webpages etc. I tried re-booting the router but it is still not working.
The modem is working fine as I am able to access the netbook if I plug my netbook into it directly and I don't think it is an issue with my netbook as I have the same problem if I try to connect my HTC Smartphone to the internet through Wi-Fi too, eg recognises signal but cannot access pages.The router was permanently plugged in and turned on which I have since heard tends to burn them out so I am thinking it might be an issue with the router.

Jan 8, 2011I have a Netgear DGN2000 router wired to a desktop machine running windows 7. In another room i have another desktop machine running windows XP. I have a netgear WN111v2 network adapter connected to this machine. The network adapter says it is connect to the router, the icon in the bottom right hand corner is green and the signal strength is in high 90%s, yet when i start up internet explorer the message i get is "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".
Also, in the house there is a laptop running windows 7 (connected wirelessly - no problems) another laptop running windows xp (connected - no problems) and an Xbox 360 (connected ok). Been on to netgear tech support all they could suggest was to lower the security settings on the router, ultimately lowered down to disabled - still nothing. Disabled homegroup on the windows 7 machine still nothing running out of ideas now.

Apr 10, 2012I have a Linksys E1000 device that is connected to a DSL connection through a modem. I have a Laptop that is wirelessly connected to the router and a PC that is connected via cable. Lately, a problem started to occur where the router keeps losing the internet connection and Laptop tell me that it connected to the router but there in no internet access and the same thing happens to the PC, both disconnect at the same time. I called my ISP company when this happens and they told me that the connection is working fine and everything look ok from there. I connected my PC directly to the modem and it worked fine so problem is not from modem. When i go to the router settings at the moment this occurs, it shows that all IPs are 00000 and status is "Connecting" and then it connects and changes to "connected" and everything fine till like 15 minutes later where this happens again (sometimes, it actually disconnects again after like 15 seconds!). I took the router to the dealer and he examined it and told me there is nothing wrong but he updated the firmware and told me to try it but same thing so he exchanged it for a new one and problem is still there!

Nov 5, 2011I've looked through the forums and FAQs and haven't seen anything that resolves my issue. I recently moved from the US to Japan. I had my WRT54GS set up in the States and the network worked fine. When i got here, i set it up, hard reset the router and set up a new network.
I can access the internet when connected through the router via ethernet cable, but I cannot connect any of my wireless devices. Easy Link Advisor says "internet connection is not working" but it is. I have two computers connected via cable and they both work so it is not an issue of my ISP allowing multiple IP addresses.
My wireless devices (XBox, PS3, laptop) can see the network but cannot connect through to the internet. I also just noticed that the "wireless mode" according to the EasyLink Advisor says "disable", however the wireless settings on my 192. server webpage is set to "mixed" and seems to be correct in all settings to be on.

Nov 27, 2011My neighbor is using my Belkin Router the basic one and has comcast. We both use his internet and have had no problems until the past 3 days. He just got the home phone service from comcast and the phone line is setup through the modem. Ever since comcast came to his apartment and set this up the home phone service to his modem the router is connected but there is no internet access. What is going on and how can I fix this. I am trying to access the internet wirelessly from another pc running Windows XP. The wireless pc indicates it is connected to the network with excellent signal strength. It will not connect to the internet. I can successfully ping the router but it is unsuccessful when pinging an internet address.
An additional wireless pc (WinXP) and my phone (Android) also show connected to the network but will not connect to the internet.
These wireless computers used to be able to access the internet before we moved house. They only thing I think that has changed is the addition of Windows firewall and anti-virus. It may however be something else.
