Broadband :: Had ATT And Now Have Cable That Does Not Require Password?
Jun 21, 2012Remove PPPoe settings on Vista. I uninstalled the att software but the pppoe settings remain and my computer says my network is unidentified and will only allow local connection. My XP computer had no problem making the change but the Vista one keeps saying it is an unidentified network. I have tried turning everything off and then restarting the cable and then the computer but it does not work. I have a wireless adapter and can connect the Vista machine to the network with no problem but need a wired connection for games I play so I need to fix the wired problem. I am sure the settings the ATT software changed is the problem but I don't know how to get into the system to fix the problem. There is no router involved. The router is built into the cable modem.

Jul 12, 2011I setup my own wireless connection using Cox Cable some time ago and it's been working with no problems. Today I tried to setup my sister's laptop with a wireless connection also with Cox Cable. Router is setup correctly and the connection says signal strength is excellent. However, the computer will not connect to the Internet.She has a Motorola Modem which a Cox Tech says he can see the modem so that's ok. I noticed the on the Modem the PC Connectivity light is amber and steady. While I have a different modem with the same company, my PC Connectivity light is green and it blinks from all the Internet activity P.S. All other setting are correct i.e. Obtain IP address automatically, DNS setting, DCHP etc.

Mar 13, 2011We have a cisco services contract with IBM that supplies us access to the usb drivers, firmwares etc, and we have a Cisco 5508 6.x running ~30 Cisco 1252's, some 1231's and (potentially) some 1262's once the firmware update is done.
We have a base-count license(permanent) of 50AP's, no expiry
So I guess my questions are:
1) When flashing the new firmware - do the licenses require any sort of modification, or will they work as per normal
2) Are any serial numbers or codes required to be entered once the 7.0.98 firmware is installed?
3) I assume that the old firmware/config becomes 2nd in line to the primary boot option of the firmware during boot process?
No Internet Connection Even With Cable?
Oct 31, 2011My laptop wireless suddenly stopped working yesterday ( this has happened before ) so I rang BT for them to mess about with the channels to fix it which usually works but my laptop cant even connect to the internet with the cable plugged in from the hub. The computer is connected with the wire now and is working perfectly fine.
Ive read on forums it could be the network adapters ive checked and they are all updated. Ive system restored and still no connection with either wireless or cable .
No Internet Connection After Cable Power Went Out
Jun 14, 2011We have optimum dsl, windows 7 computers, a windows server a lynksys router and a gigabit switch. The cable power went out in the area last friday. Now they say the internet is on but our network wont pick it up. After reading a number of sites it seems our switch to router may be the issue. the switch has all similar ports for network cable connections. the router has an obvious port for the main cable internet connection. I can not figure out if the location of connectors on the gigabyte switch matter in terms of where the switch and router connect to each other. this all worked last week. my other problem is that i have no internet access at the office to troubleshoot this. I dont remember model numbers for the switch and modem. we have 6 computers networked.

Mar 16, 2011I had so much old garbage and damage from old viruses I needed to reformat the hard drive and reinstall windows xp from the System OS disk. Computer is up and running now, but I lost a lot of stuff, including my ability to connect to the internet and some drivers. I have cable internet. I downloaded Broadcom advanced control suite and the netxtreme 57xx drivers from the Broadcom site, and installed them with the provided download manager. Nothing seems to be working, the control suite says "No active broadcom network adapters detected in this system"....
note- I've been downloading to a different computer and burning the files to CD, and transferring them to the Dell that way...

Feb 24, 2013I do love your products and I am not just sucking your *beep*, but could you please update the firmware on this modem (DPC 3008). There are a lot of people that are having issues with losing their internet connection when it comes to this modem. It doesn't matter who the ISP is, doesn't matter what we try to do to fix this. I read somewhere that after you updated the firmware in 2011 on this modem is when your customers starting having issues. Now I just bought this modem a few weeks ago so I don't know for sure. All I can say is if this issue doesn't get resolved, I am going to smash the *beep* out of it and never recommend your products to anyone as well as never purchase another product from you. I like you I really do, but I am tried of losing my internet connection when I am playing my games or watching movies. People have stated that they removed your modem for a different brand and their issues were resolved. I am giving you a chance to show me that you value your customers and you will resolve this issue in a timely manner

It seems to coincide with this date that I keep loosing my internet connection on a regular basis, say every 2 days or so, but not consistent. The cure is to unplug the linksys WAG200G ADSL home gateway. Plug it in again and all is well, until the next time. On the box it says the until is ADSL2/2+ compliant.

Nov 14, 2011I recently purchased at Linksys X2000 Router/dsl modem, I ran the setup and everything works fine except for when I am trying to play games online with one device and surf the web on another device it keeps kicking one or both devices offline, but if only one of them is on it works fine.I have AT&T dsl and I have checked all my setting and the router was setup by linksys Cisco Connect program but it still gives me this issue.Is there anything I can do to fix this? My old WRT54G Router and AT&T dsl modem did not have this problem.

Nov 8, 2011 I purchased this router and a Motorola Surfboard SB5101U for my home network. My current set up at home for devices connected to router are as follows:
2 Macs and 2 iphones - Wireless
2 Directv boxes, 2 blu-ray players and xbox360, Ethernet cabling.
The issue I am having is that everyday at-least 7-8+ times my internet will just stop coming through. I never lose connection to the router it's self. But I cannot load webpages/content on any of my devices. They always show as being connected fine to the router though. I have attempted to call Cox cable, my ISP, to resolve the issue. And I am always told that everything looks fine on their end and that the issue must lie with the connection between the Modem and router. The rep then walks me through a complete reboot of both router & modem and of course, the issue is resolved 100% of the time. I am trying to fix the issue my self to avoid a $50 service call fee from Cox which could still not fix any issues at all. Since I have done some searching and found some advice on making changes to the configuration of the router. But time after time I continue to get the same issue.

May 2, 2011My internet connection seems to drop a lot, I'm using a WAG54G2 modem connecting via a wired connection; and my ISP is Iprimus and I'm running off an Adsl2+ connection.The light on the modem that goes out when I lose connection is usually the internet although sometimes it is the DSL light, when my connection drops out I also seem to lose speed when I reconnect, which I was able to fix by pulling the power plug out and putting it back in but it no longer works as often.
The top speed I have measured via 9url]... has been 350 kb/s and the lowest has been 12 kb/s.My phone line also has a loud crackly sound which goes away when I unplug my modem from the line.I used to be able to unplug my phone line to keep the connection up but that no longer works.
This problem is not consistent as I will have days when it is bad (slow connection speed and constant connection dropping) and days when it is alright (decent connection speed and hardly or no connection dropping).I am also running a few filters for my phone, I've tried taking the filters out but that doesn't fix it, I've tried unplugging the phone which used to work as I mentioned before but no longer does.Before I bought this modem I can't remember what I was using but that had history with locking out the connection which by replacing the modem fixed my bad connection for a 5-7 months.

Mar 23, 2012I will just explain my setup:
I have a ADSL Huwavi modem by my ISP installed at my place.. Now the wireless from that device is very bad.. So I purchased WAG120N to setup a daisy-chain kind of setup in my other bedroom. I also put another D-link DIR-600 in between to give a connection to the first floor (via Ethernet cable).
So my huwavi is the ISP device, then a LAN from it goes to the dlink internet (WAN) port. then one cable from the d-link LAN port to the LAN1 of WAG120N and another upstairs.
Now all of this was working perfectly.. I put same SSIDs and Pwds on both ISP router and WAG120N and i was getting seamless net..
Now yesterday we removed the ISP modem to do some shifting.. Upon reconnecting, the ISP modem, Dlink work as before, but the WAG120N refuses to connect to the net.. it shows DSL down and doesn't access the www.
What I felt is that since i changed LAN ports on my ISP device and dlink, the static IP settings on the WAG120N should be changed.. i modified it, set to to point to the dlink for internet and huwavie for DHCP.. yet nothings happening..
I even connected the WAG120N directly to the Huwavie, yet it fails to connect to the net..

Dec 18, 2009I've recently upgraded from a WAG54GS to the WAG320N. It seems to work OK for a period then looses the connetion to the Internet - DSL light on but not the Internet light. Normally I need to re-set the router to re-connect (either through the back switch or through the setup page)

When the modem looses connection to the Internet; the DSL Noise Margin drops way down to 0.0 or 0.5.

I have a cable modem and planned to connect the modem to WAG160N by an ethernet cable and then assumed that it would connect to the rest of my network and use the modem as the route to the internet. Jun 25, 2012I just installed the X2000 and managed to get my Win7 Home Premium to connected to the Internet and also one wireless device. I previously had just a modem. Sometimes, when my PC is up and running, I want to disconnect it from the Internet and later connect again. There is an icon on the lower right of my toolbar which, with my old modem, allowed me to connect and disconnect but it seems to know only about the old modem. Basically it operated by starting the sequence: All Control Panel Items>Network Connections>Broadband Connection. Now this function does work; it tries to connect (through "WAN Miniport (PPPOE)") and gets "Error 651: The modem (or other connecting device) has reported an error". Can you tell me what where is the program that seems to start the Internet connection for the X2000 and if I can change parameters for the Win7 "Broadband Connection" to use the X2000? Perhaps the parameter "Connect on Demand" in the "Basic Setup" of the X2000 is involved?

Aug 15, 2011From time to time, when I wake up an specific station from sleep mode, the router loses its connection with Internet. It still has the line synced, but there is no Internet connection.I still can access the router through browser though. If I hit "connect" to establish a manual connection, it does not work. I have to switch the router off and on and wait for the whole process of syncing and connection, then I have Internet again.
I thought this could be something on that PC (old XP) sending some weird packet to router when I wake it up, but I tried with a newer PC (Win 7 64 bits) and the same problem persists. Also, this only happens when I wake up the PC. If it is off and I turn on, or if I restart, the problem does not happen.
The router (WAG120N) has an old firmware version (V1.00.12) because the latest available is buggy and had some problem with my ISP (limiting the bandwidth). However, I have this firmware for like 6 months and the problem only started 2 months ago.

Aug 28, 2012Yesterday I bought the Linksys Wireless-N Home ADSL2+ Modem Router WAG120N (Annex-A version). I configured the modem/router and it was working very well. Today I was surfing the internet just fine and I left my computer for a few minutes, when I came back I noticed that there is no internet connection. The internet light on the modem was no longer on, and the DSL one was blinking. I turned off the device and then turned it back on but the issue was still present. I tried restoring the factory default settings and configuring the modem again but nothing seems to work (resetting the modem, turning off every device connected to it and restarting the modem/router). The DSL light keeps blinking, turns off for a couple seconds and then starts blinking again. The internet light only appears when I restart the modem and it flashes red just after turning the device on.
