the other day i set up a new internet connection and to set it up they sent me a WAG160Nv2 modem router and after hours of trying to get it working the technical support guy told me it cant be set up until the dsl led comes on, so what it being off means/how to get it to turn on?

my WAG160Nv2 drops the connection each day at the same hour (4:20pm to 4:40pm aprox.)I think that is because my ISP don't give me a static IP address and the connection must dropped once a day. in my old router I could put the time for the drop. I don't find something similar in the WAG160Nv2.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe only thing I notice now is that channels 12 and 13 do not work properly. Setting the router to channels 12 and 13 basically sets the channel to something in the 1 - 11 range as seen by inSSIDer. This could be because the firmware I installed is the US version, which only has channels 1 - 11, but the EU version has channels 1 - 13. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but because there are a lot of wireless signals where I live, channels 1 - 11 are quite congested, so channel 13 was quite useful to me.I don't suppose anyone has a EU version of the WAG160NV2 2.00.17 firmware do they?Channels 12 and 13 worked fine with the EU version of the WAG160NV2 2.00.20 firmware but of course only at 2Mbps.

I'm not alone as many users on the Apple support forum are experiencing the same drops via airport and with different routers.. Lan line works fine for me with no issues

The knowledge base only seems to show how to assign an IP address in the XBOX but when I have to reboot the router, I've noticed the XBOX is assigned a new IP address when viewed in the router pages.
If I set a permanent IP address in the XBOX, this will no longer match what is in the router.
Here's the problem : I've installed this router to a friends of mine home and since then in the gam "Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War 2 : Retribution" they can't play together (they're connected via WAN) in a 2v2 without getting disconnected FROM THE INTERNET (not only the game, the whole ADSL line collapse after an over 3000ms of ping for few sec.). Same thing if one of them try to make a 3v3 (so 1 with the WAG160Nv2, and 2 other persons via internet.), 3000pings for few sec and then they get DC from the internet, after few sec the router gets back online but still they can't play together or make a 3v3.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a SBS 2003 server with two NIC's, one for the internal LAN and the other connecting to the WAG160Nv2 that is hooked up to the internet.The internal LAN clients are all getting IP addresses from the DHCP server in the SBS Server (192.168.16.XXX). The DHCP server is sat at 192.168.16.2.The only thing connected to the LAN ports on the WAG160Nv2 is the Internet facing NIC from the server.What I want to do is to get the WAG160Nv2 to give IP addresses to Wireless connections going through the router, can I configure the DHCP relay option on the WAG160Nv2 to do this, I have looked at the DHCP relay option but it doesn't seem to work, my wireless connections are getting private 169.254.xxx.xxx addresses.Also is there anything I can do to make the wireless more Apple friendly, iPhones and iPads drop of the wireless frequently, that's why I trying a different approach.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSince i used this new modem ruoter, on facebook game Cafe WORLD i can't send requests or gifts to neighbors/friends. when the window pops out there's no friend list. it's just a blank space. also when i click the share button only a blank page pops out. i tried it in 3 different pc here @ home in different browser but still had no luck...i tried it on my bf's place and it works so i guess there's a prob with my connection. and sometimes i have the internet access but i couldn't navigate in any website only for chatting.

1. Slow wireless speed - only 2Mbit - with cabte up to the lines max 15Mbit
2. The routers system time is wrong - it says " 03-01-2000 02:19:54" I have set the correct system time but no difference
I have tried a lot of wireless options and some of the timezones but i did not solve the problem
I do love your products and I am not just sucking your *beep*, but could you please update the firmware on this modem (DPC 3008). There are a lot of people that are having issues with losing their internet connection when it comes to this modem. It doesn't matter who the ISP is, doesn't matter what we try to do to fix this. I read somewhere that after you updated the firmware in 2011 on this modem is when your customers starting having issues. Now I just bought this modem a few weeks ago so I don't know for sure. All I can say is if this issue doesn't get resolved, I am going to smash the *beep* out of it and never recommend your products to anyone as well as never purchase another product from you. I like you I really do, but I am tried of losing my internet connection when I am playing my games or watching movies. People have stated that they removed your modem for a different brand and their issues were resolved. I am giving you a chance to show me that you value your customers and you will resolve this issue in a timely manner

It seems to coincide with this date that I keep loosing my internet connection on a regular basis, say every 2 days or so, but not consistent. The cure is to unplug the linksys WAG200G ADSL home gateway. Plug it in again and all is well, until the next time. On the box it says the until is ADSL2/2+ compliant.

I recently purchased at Linksys X2000 Router/dsl modem, I ran the setup and everything works fine except for when I am trying to play games online with one device and surf the web on another device it keeps kicking one or both devices offline, but if only one of them is on it works fine.I have AT&T dsl and I have checked all my setting and the router was setup by linksys Cisco Connect program but it still gives me this issue.Is there anything I can do to fix this? My old WRT54G Router and AT&T dsl modem did not have this problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy internet connection seems to drop a lot, I'm using a WAG54G2 modem connecting via a wired connection; and my ISP is Iprimus and I'm running off an Adsl2+ connection.The light on the modem that goes out when I lose connection is usually the internet although sometimes it is the DSL light, when my connection drops out I also seem to lose speed when I reconnect, which I was able to fix by pulling the power plug out and putting it back in but it no longer works as often.
The top speed I have measured via 9url]... has been 350 kb/s and the lowest has been 12 kb/s.My phone line also has a loud crackly sound which goes away when I unplug my modem from the line.I used to be able to unplug my phone line to keep the connection up but that no longer works.
This problem is not consistent as I will have days when it is bad (slow connection speed and constant connection dropping) and days when it is alright (decent connection speed and hardly or no connection dropping).I am also running a few filters for my phone, I've tried taking the filters out but that doesn't fix it, I've tried unplugging the phone which used to work as I mentioned before but no longer does.Before I bought this modem I can't remember what I was using but that had history with locking out the connection which by replacing the modem fixed my bad connection for a 5-7 months.
I will just explain my setup:
I have a ADSL Huwavi modem by my ISP installed at my place.. Now the wireless from that device is very bad.. So I purchased WAG120N to setup a daisy-chain kind of setup in my other bedroom. I also put another D-link DIR-600 in between to give a connection to the first floor (via Ethernet cable).
So my huwavi is the ISP device, then a LAN from it goes to the dlink internet (WAN) port. then one cable from the d-link LAN port to the LAN1 of WAG120N and another upstairs.
Now all of this was working perfectly.. I put same SSIDs and Pwds on both ISP router and WAG120N and i was getting seamless net..
Now yesterday we removed the ISP modem to do some shifting.. Upon reconnecting, the ISP modem, Dlink work as before, but the WAG120N refuses to connect to the net.. it shows DSL down and doesn't access the www.
What I felt is that since i changed LAN ports on my ISP device and dlink, the static IP settings on the WAG120N should be changed.. i modified it, set to to point to the dlink for internet and huwavie for DHCP.. yet nothings happening..
I even connected the WAG120N directly to the Huwavie, yet it fails to connect to the net..
I've recently upgraded from a WAG54GS to the WAG320N. It seems to work OK for a period then looses the connetion to the Internet - DSL light on but not the Internet light. Normally I need to re-set the router to re-connect (either through the back switch or through the setup page)

When the modem looses connection to the Internet; the DSL Noise Margin drops way down to 0.0 or 0.5.
Is it possible to use a WAG160N as a straight forward router (wired & wireless) and to "switch off" the ADSL connection? I have a cable modem and planned to connect the modem to WAG160N by an ethernet cable and then assumed that it would connect to the rest of my network and use the modem as the route to the internet. But I cannot work out how to configure it to get this internet connection.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed the X2000 and managed to get my Win7 Home Premium to connected to the Internet and also one wireless device. I previously had just a modem. Sometimes, when my PC is up and running, I want to disconnect it from the Internet and later connect again. There is an icon on the lower right of my toolbar which, with my old modem, allowed me to connect and disconnect but it seems to know only about the old modem. Basically it operated by starting the sequence: All Control Panel Items>Network Connections>Broadband Connection. Now this function does work; it tries to connect (through "WAN Miniport (PPPOE)") and gets "Error 651: The modem (or other connecting device) has reported an error". Can you tell me what where is the program that seems to start the Internet connection for the X2000 and if I can change parameters for the Win7 "Broadband Connection" to use the X2000? Perhaps the parameter "Connect on Demand" in the "Basic Setup" of the X2000 is involved?
View 9 Replies View RelatedFrom time to time, when I wake up an specific station from sleep mode, the router loses its connection with Internet. It still has the line synced, but there is no Internet connection.I still can access the router through browser though. If I hit "connect" to establish a manual connection, it does not work. I have to switch the router off and on and wait for the whole process of syncing and connection, then I have Internet again.
I thought this could be something on that PC (old XP) sending some weird packet to router when I wake it up, but I tried with a newer PC (Win 7 64 bits) and the same problem persists. Also, this only happens when I wake up the PC. If it is off and I turn on, or if I restart, the problem does not happen.
The router (WAG120N) has an old firmware version (V1.00.12) because the latest available is buggy and had some problem with my ISP (limiting the bandwidth). However, I have this firmware for like 6 months and the problem only started 2 months ago.
