my WAG160Nv2 drops the connection each day at the same hour (4:20pm to 4:40pm aprox.)I think that is because my ISP don't give me a static IP address and the connection must dropped once a day. in my old router I could put the time for the drop. I don't find something similar in the WAG160Nv2.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe only thing I notice now is that channels 12 and 13 do not work properly. Setting the router to channels 12 and 13 basically sets the channel to something in the 1 - 11 range as seen by inSSIDer. This could be because the firmware I installed is the US version, which only has channels 1 - 11, but the EU version has channels 1 - 13. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but because there are a lot of wireless signals where I live, channels 1 - 11 are quite congested, so channel 13 was quite useful to me.I don't suppose anyone has a EU version of the WAG160NV2 2.00.17 firmware do they?Channels 12 and 13 worked fine with the EU version of the WAG160NV2 2.00.20 firmware but of course only at 2Mbps.

The knowledge base only seems to show how to assign an IP address in the XBOX but when I have to reboot the router, I've noticed the XBOX is assigned a new IP address when viewed in the router pages.
If I set a permanent IP address in the XBOX, this will no longer match what is in the router.
Here's the problem : I've installed this router to a friends of mine home and since then in the gam "Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War 2 : Retribution" they can't play together (they're connected via WAN) in a 2v2 without getting disconnected FROM THE INTERNET (not only the game, the whole ADSL line collapse after an over 3000ms of ping for few sec.). Same thing if one of them try to make a 3v3 (so 1 with the WAG160Nv2, and 2 other persons via internet.), 3000pings for few sec and then they get DC from the internet, after few sec the router gets back online but still they can't play together or make a 3v3.

The DHCP server is sat at 192.168.16.2.The only thing connected to the LAN ports on the WAG160Nv2 is the Internet facing NIC from the server.What I want to do is to get the WAG160Nv2 to give IP addresses to Wireless connections going through the router, can I configure the DHCP relay option on the WAG160Nv2 to do this, I have looked at the DHCP relay option but it doesn't seem to work, my wireless connections are getting private 169.254.xxx.xxx addresses.Also is there anything I can do to make the wireless more Apple friendly, iPhones and iPads drop of the wireless frequently, that's why I trying a different approach.

I have spoken to my ISP and had the line checked (no packet loss issue), checked the settings on the router against my ISP and also updated the router firmware all with no improvement.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFrom time to time, when I wake up an specific station from sleep mode, the router loses its connection with Internet. It still has the line synced, but there is no Internet connection.I still can access the router through browser though. If I hit "connect" to establish a manual connection, it does not work. I have to switch the router off and on and wait for the whole process of syncing and connection, then I have Internet again.
I thought this could be something on that PC (old XP) sending some weird packet to router when I wake it up, but I tried with a newer PC (Win 7 64 bits) and the same problem persists. Also, this only happens when I wake up the PC. If it is off and I turn on, or if I restart, the problem does not happen.
The router (WAG120N) has an old firmware version (V1.00.12) because the latest available is buggy and had some problem with my ISP (limiting the bandwidth). However, I have this firmware for like 6 months and the problem only started 2 months ago.
This is a bit of a pain as the behaiviour is not consistent. whenever I connect to the Device webpage a number of things may happen
1. There is no connection - the page tries to load but never does. While this happens the router drops the ADSL connection and re-connects. I have to close the browser session and try again later. OR
2. The Browser session connects but at some point after the connection, say when I am trying to save changes or even just browsing through the config pages the session hangs, and again the router drops the ADSL connection and re-connects. I have to close the session and try again later.
I have noticed this happens when I use my OpenSuse 11.4 Linux Box using Firefox 5 or even using my Win 7 Box using IE9.

1. Slow wireless speed - only 2Mbit - with cabte up to the lines max 15Mbit
2. The routers system time is wrong - it says " 03-01-2000 02:19:54" I have set the correct system time but no difference
I have tried a lot of wireless options and some of the timezones but i did not solve the problem
My internet connction gets disconnected with in 1 hour . local area connection shows packets reciev and sent are in millions in 10 minuts . do i have a virus ?? or becouse of bytes sent and resived so much my internet gets disconnected. after disabling and reanabling my local area connection i can again use my net for some time.

I cannot find where to change this.I have nat statements for 1 to 1 nat to my polycom and tandberg video devices. I have set the firewall for the ouside to in rules to inspect all. This allows the devices to communicate with public addresses, but the video calls drop after 1 hour. How do I change the settings so this does not happen. I have tried setting the rule to allow instead of inspect, but when I do this, I have no access at all. I just want to nat 1 to 1 and allow all traffic to the nated devices. I know this is not secure but it is the only way to allow h323 through to let the video conferencing devices work.

What could be causing this problem? How should I start debugging it?
Could an excessive amount of network traffic be bringing down the modem? Are there any tools that can monitor the modem?
My wag320N was working fine for a few months but recently has started to drop out. The wireless signal is strong and is used to stream HD movies to a HTPC and also to a media player in different parts of the house. The stream works fine for a while then every 2-5 minutes or so the signal drops to nothing for about 45 seconds, then comes back up to normal and then this repeats for the entire movie.

I notice that whenever I switch on my LG media centre the wireles connection drops out to the other devices. Then I need to reboot the router and the wireless works again.
