View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an HP G60-530US laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I bought a Linksys AE1200 USB Wireless Network Adapter because the laptop stopped recognizing the internal wireless adapter. However, when I use the CD that came with the Linksys adapter to install it, the adapter is not detected. I have tried different USB ports and also power-cycling the router & cable modem & rebooting. Nothing seems to work. I also ran the Setup program on my Gateway DX4860 desktop but the Linksys AE1200 is not detected on the desktop, either.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know this is sort of a stupid question, but I just spent over an hour with a Microsoft Tech Support guy who had absolutely no clue what he was doing. He frequently paused for five minute intervals to "confer with his resources" (I suspect he was reading an outline that told him what to do), and every time I explained that an issue did not work precisely as he expected, he had to put me on hold and talk to someone else. It was hellishly aggravating

I work as a System Administrator for a small company. Can i share a CD drive to all the computers in my domain. Or does this require any additional software to do all this. Because i tried to do it normally by sharing that CD drive and by which it was also available in my network. But when i was trying to access that it says "The drive is not ready". We use Windows operating system in our network. I even tried to google this but i could not find any exact answer for this till now.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi have 2 dell computers (and more but just worried about these two for now)... mainpc and sparepc, i had sparepc hooked to my tv and all pc's in the house, and a tv, networked to it... it all worked great, after a few minutes of setting it up... and then the hard drive crashed on spare pc and i got a new one, installed windows again both pc's use the same installation disk both pc's are hooked to a workswitch, which is hooked to a uverse gateway (router)... but it should be noted that hooking everything to wireless changes nothing... i get the same results can reach out to anything in the house and network great... but nothing can connect to sparepc... it keeps asking for username/password, even tho none is set I've gone through all the file sharing, homegroup, and folder options... ive reset ownership on folders and permissions... ive tried making/changing user profiles... but i cannot get from mainpc to sparepc home group does not work because the network does not work. as soon as the network works, homegroup will spring to life (at least, thats what happened the last time) if i right click on a folder, go to properties, share tab, and hit the share button... it asks for permissions for users... i set them, hit share, and it comes up and says, "you cant share this folder" ... with no explanation

View 3 Replies View Relatedi used to have everything setup properly, Upnp (streaming from PS3), FTP server, Public drive. Everything was working perfect. One day, my drive stopped responsing, and because I had a Security IP camera uploading pictures on it, I thought it was full. The partition was corrupted so I formated the drive. Since then, whatever disk I plug to the router, the "create share" window is not working properly.

I can access the USB storage via FTP, but I wanted to access files using a Windows Explorer format. Also, anyone access the Media share ? Manual tells you how to setup the USB functions but not how to access from a PC.
just replaced a WRT54G with E4200. Most functions work well. 4 wireless computers (1 Macbook, 3 Win 7), 1 wireless android, 1 wired Win7 computer, 1 ethernet connected hard drive, 1 ethernet connected printer. All computers can ping router, access hard drive, access internet, ping android and ping Macbook. However, router, nor any computer, can't ping Win7 computers. Apparently IP based connections between WinX computers is blocked. My real applications are to Remote Desktop Connect from 1 Win7 computer to another, or to run a DLNA music server on 1 Win7 computer, accessed by another. (the LAN connected computer is the server, accessed by a wLAN client. All worked fine on WRT54G router, but can't connect thru E4200. When these apps failed, I tried PING, and that failed as well. All computer's IP addresses are properly served from E4200 via DHCP, and are visible thru the router's DHCP Reservation panel.

- Bridge-ing the connections, no success.
- Upgrading the drivers on the ethernet side, no success.
- Enabling "Internet Connections with ICS", no success.
I have two networks joined together via a VPN (two dd-wrt routers).I can ping and access certain devices on the host network from the client network. However, I can not access any windows shares. It says it can not connect.
