View 1 Replies View RelatedProblem I've been having with my laptop. Following the directions of a Dell technician while trying to resolve a separate problem, I deleted the partitions on my hard drive and manually reinstalled both Vista and all the drivers that were on the Dell CD that came with my laptop. When I tried connecting to the internet, Vista said I did not have any wireless networking hardware, but before the reinstallation it worked just fine. I am able to connect to the internet using a wired connection, but my wireless adapter still isn't working. I use Windows Vista 32-bit SP1

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to set up a wireless connection on an HP desktop that runs Vista. I recently purchased a Belkin N150 Wireless USB Adapter (Version F9L1001). My computer, first, will not run the software CD automatically; I have to find it and double-click on it. Then, after the drivers are supposedly installed and I restart according to the instructions, my computer is unable to find them when I plug in the adapter. Additionally, when I try to start the driver program myself, it refuses to go. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver software four times and I have gotten the following same results every time. Also, I do not have a router installed yet, as we were told initially that all we would need to use to connect the desktop to our wireless Internet was the adapter
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've recently upgraded to windows 8 and I've been having some issues with my wireless connectivity. I've narrowed it down to an issue with the wireless adapter. Specifically, windows doesn't seem to recognize my Intel centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 and instead installed drivers for Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6250 AGN. The correct driver is instead listed in "Other Devices" in the device manager.

I had to re-install Vista on my Dell Studio 1535, and site the re-install i've not been able to connect to wi-fi because Vista apparently doesnt seem to recognise the wireless adapter. In Device Manager it lists the generic "Network Controller" and has a question mark next to it.
I've installed Dell System software, Dell Notebook System software, Quickset, chipset drivers and the R206848 file that includes the 1397 drivers, yet its still not recognised.
I am running windows vista and have installed the software and windows sees the adapter and states it is working but when it searches for available networks it can't find any. How can I download the driver and install it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running windows xp sp2 on a pc, a wireless modem 2wire model 2701hg and a laptop with windows vista. My pc had a virus that required reinstalling windows xp. When I did that my pc came up with an ethernet connection instead of reconnecting into the wireless network. I cannot get the pc back into the wireless network with the limited knowledge I have. When I look at my "system summary" on the 2 wire website I can see my pc listed twice, once with the ethernet connection and once with the wireless connection but labeled "inactive". How do I get my pc back onto the wireless network?

I've recently bought a new laptop that is running Windows 7, and although it picks up the wireless feature of the network (it has wireless internet access), I can't seem to figure out how to get this new Windows 7 laptop to see the other PCs or the printer connected to my desktop. View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Sony Bravia KDL-60EX720, and I am having issues connecting it to my DLNA network running on my Mac. I have my router set up to allow uPNP and the TV is set up to allow rendering and automatically look for my network. No matter how many different ways I try...I still can't seem to figure out why the one device cannot see the other!
I am running Serviio 0.6.2. I checked the firmware on the router, and everything seems up to date.
After using my 2 TB WD network storage device on other systems both wirelessly and via an ethernet connection, I decided to install the device on a new system via a wired connection. Unfortunately, my computer (WIN XP) won't recognise the device when using a direct connection though my talk talk supplied D-LINK wireless router. I have contacted WD and talktalk and gone through all the diagnostic processes but it still won't recognise the device. I have been able to connect this device through an older D-LINK router (still wireless) on the same talk talk ISP with no problems so I can't understand why it won't connect here. The WD device reports no problems but I can't access it, even when all firewall and AV programs are disabled.

View 14 Replies View RelatedAfter reinstalling Vista, Vista does not recognize my wireless network. I know that the wireless network is working because my i-Touch and my blue-ray (internet streaming) still are working with the Cisco/Linksys E2000. I made sure that the wireless switch on my Gateway laptop was in the on position. The wireless hardware does not show up in the hardware control panel. Is this a driver issue or a hardware issue? It does not seem that it would be a hardware problem.
My Gateway is still under warranty thru Best Buy. If it's a hardware problem, it's covered but if it's a software problem(I take it that a driver would be software), they want $100 to fix. This is what brings me to a second question, if it's a driver issue, should I just upgrade to Window 7? Does Window 7 have build in drivers for wireless hardware?
My computer doesn't recognize my network card, so I need to reinstall my network drivers. There are three drivers listed for my XPS 8300...service tag.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed a new wireless network in my home. All my internet devices (Laptops, PS3, iPad etc.) have been able to acess the new network but my old Dell XPS 600 with its Dell 1450 wireless card cannot "see" the new network. When I refresh available networks in wireless connections the old XPS 600 can see various networks (neighbours etc.) but cannot recognise the new network even though its working fine with my other PCs
Do I need to upgrade the Dell 1450 wireless card ? If so what am I missing - what requirements do I miss? Which card should I buy?
I have a Linksys WRT110 wireless router that has never given me any problem. All of the sudden, after a storm blew through yesterday, none of the laptops in my house (PC running Vista and Mac) will recognize my wireless network. I have a desktop computer and BluRay player hardwired to the router and the internet works fine on them through the router. The problem is not that I can't connect or lose connection, the wireless network isn't showing up as existing anymore, like it has disappeared.

From what I understand the pc is getting gatewayaddress or does not recognize.
I have a Compaq presario CQ61 laptop running windows 7 and since my boyfriend installed a new netgear wireless router I haven't been able connect to the home wireless network. I have no problem connecting to public or private wireless networks at my house or elsewhere. Also, my boyfriend and his roommate have no problem connecting to the network on their laptops. It is a WPA encrypted network. I have also tried shutting off the firewall on my computer without any change. My laptop doesn't even recognize the network - i tried to manually add the network to my computer but it still won't come up on my list of active networks.

View 7 Replies View RelatedOne moment the laptop was using the wireless connection from the router in our house and the next it lost internet access and then wasn't able to recognize the SSID or connection at all on the available wireless connections. We have reset the router and restarted the laptop countless times yet the only internet access we have is on the computer the router is hooked up to.The wireless connection works neither on the laptop nor the Wii, both previously works merely hours ago and with no problems until now.We assume there is an issue with the router itself, whether it be a loose ethernet cord (which only faintly can be moved in its place). It's almost as if the router is stopping them (Wii, and laptop) from having access. When we explore the wireless internet properties on the laptop, it shows the wireless connection, yet only there and doesn't give access to it. Could it be the router, or could the company have restricted WiFi only to the computer it is hooked up to?
