I have a 2003 standard machine with networking issues. the nic shows that it is connected and it received the correct DHCP ip from the router but i can't ping the router or any other ip on the network.i ran a TCP/IP fix, Winstock Fix, LSP Fix, checked the services that starts up, checked the startup programs, turned the firewall off, checked in advanced settings on the nic if the correct order is there. the funny thing is that in safe mode with networking it works like a charm but not when i boot in to windows normally. If i ping the router it just shows destination host unreachable.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe're having problems access 'our own' externally hosted website with SBS 2003. I know this is commonly a DNS issue, but I cannot for the life of me get to the bottom of this. The site is hosted on a web host
Here are the facts:
- SBS 2003 w/single NIC. D-LINK DIR-655 router.
- DNS internally is handled by SBS, DNS forwarders set in order: 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220 (OpenDNS Servers)
- Trying to browse website from the SBS server or any other machine on network
- Gateway is router (192.168.1.1)
- Trying to access our own web site, hosted by a 3rd party. Trying both example.com and www.example.com - Both are simply redirected to search pages.
- Trying to get to OTHER websites hosted on this same IP also fail
Problem description:
1 - Website works fine outside this network (i.e., from my house, other sites)
2 - Pinging example.com resolves to correct IP and responses are received
3 - Nslookup resolves correct IP
4 - Trace resolves correct IP and completes successfully
Troubleshooting steps:
1 - ipconfig/flushdns
2 - Restarting DNS service on SBS 2003 server
3 - Adding host entry for the domain/IP
4 - Restarted SBS 2003 server
5 - Adding forward lookup zone for example.com > adding A record for www pointing to IP
So I just installed Windows Server 2003 64 bit on an older HP Proliant DL360 G5 and am trying to connect it to my network but neither of the 2 NIC's are showing up under Network Connections... the only option I am given is the ''Add Network Places Wizard''.
I have an ethernet cable plugged into NIC 1 and the LED's work so I know it's not a bad NIC card- do I have to download drivers for the NIC? Do I download them to a USB/CD and then just boot from that?
I want remove saved passwords in 2003 server with which XP clients login

(In my case I put router_ip_address, 0x1) 0x1 = use this "SpecialPollInterval" to update the time? Where you can find that these actions mean "next action is 3"? In Event Log in Windows 2003 DC receipt Event ID 35:The time service is now synchronizing the system time with the time source ROUTER2901_IP (ntp.m | 0x1 | W2K3_SERVER_IP: 123 -> ROUTER2901_IP: 123).Configure "Special Poll Interval" in 10 seconds. But the time on the Windows Server 2003 DC continuous five minutes ahead of time compared to the 2901 router.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell PowerEdge 2800 (Just reinstalled windows Server 2003) I have tried the two (non lan) network driver setups that dell has on its site and I get "the update package is not compatible with your system configuration".
I am trying to access the internet on my box, how to accomplish this or fix the problem I'm getting while loading driver setup?
I've got a Dimension 8300 which I loaded Windows Server 2003. I've looked high and low for a compatible network driver with no luck.
I've attempted to install WinXP drivers as I've read that it worked for others in the past... no luck for me though. I've also tried a number of different chipset drivers without any luck.
We have a network of over 20 devices, all kinds (windows, android, mac enz...). Everything was going well until one of the mac-users tried to publish his website that contained a movie (at first the movie was 622 MB). If this user presses publish the internet is going away. The website won't publish, waiting doesn't work. While the internet isn't working I went to another pc in the network and started some ping experiments. I can ping any device in the LAN, outside the LAN something strange happens: let's say for 6 seconds it is ok, but then it fails for lets say 20sec, again 6 sec the ping returns ok (45ms), and goes down for a longer period. Eventually it is not coming back. The mac user himself cannot access the internet either. When the publishing is stopped, the internet is back in less than a second.
This problem is recent, and it isn't the first time this user published a video on his own website, on the same host with the same application (iWeb). I asked him to publish his site to a local folder and hand it over to me, I tried to publish it to the same host using my own FTP application (FileZilla), this worked without any problem (I am on the same network). This is what we tried:
- Compressing the video (it is now 26 MB, still not working), we have 2GB space from the host, no limits on filesize.
- Publishing the website without the video's, no problem
- I turned on logging (debugging level) in the modem/router, no entries at the moment things went wrong...
- I called the provider, they claim nothing is wrong at their systems.
So, can the modem be broken? I don't think so because I can use it with far more intensive tasks without going down. One thing is clear, it shouldn't be possible for one computer to block the internet for everybody, so changes in the configuration are needed (I think).
I was able to access my website jetbaby.com just fine before I changed the cPanel password. Now I cannot even load the site or load the cPanel login page here: jetbaby.com:2082 All I did was change the cPanel password. When I use another computer that is NOT on my network, I can connect to the site fine. I'm assuming that my network is blocking it for some reason after the cPanel password change. I tried the IP address in the address bar as well (still no go). Cannot "ping" the IP address either. I reset my modem and router as well. Cleared cache in browsers as well. I also disabled firewall and anti-virus for testing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have setup a webserver on my home PC and I have forwarded port 80 on my router to the IP adress of the PC that is running the web server. The web server is working great; I can get to my web pages from outside of my home by going to http://MyIpAddress/Anyway, the problem is with the Windows Media Player plugin I'm using. I want to embed 6GB MPEG-2 videos into my web pages. I have some videos on my PC and I want to be able to watch them remotely by connecting into my web page. It works fine when I'm at home; other PCs can connect and play the videos no problem. The problem is when I'm at work. When I'm at work, I go to my web page (via my IP address in a web browser) and the Media Player plugin says "Connecting" for a minute, then it says Ready, but the video will not play. I tried using a smaller, AVI file (680 MB) instead to see if the problem was streaming such a large file, but the video still would not play.Do I need to foward more ports on my router so that Windows Media Player can connect back and get the information it needs?

I've confirmed that the motherboard network works in WinXP (Intel 82579V Gigabit) and typically the 32-bit Windows XP drivers work on Server 2003 as well. Several of the other drivers have installed just fine, but the network driver install package fails with "No Intel Adapters are present."
I am trying to install Windows Home Server v1 (based on Windows Server 2003) on this box and just want to get a basic network driver up and running. I've checked the BIOS config, and Device Manager shows a yellow question mark by "Ethernet Controller". The ID is:
