Can't View Specific Website?
Feb 28, 2011
A website that I usually go to has all of a sudden stopped working for me. It is hackforums.net which I know is up because I have been on it outside of my home network. Every computer on my network will not allow me to go on hackforums.net . I have not added it to a firewall or anything. I have even set my router back to factory default and it still won't let me view hackforums.net from inside my network.

I'm trying to get my crappy desktop (with Windows XP) to be a web server. When I go to localhost it displays the website just fine, but when I go to the external IP on another computer it displays "mikrotik routeros 4.11 configuration page". I've forwarded port 80 and disabled my firewall.

I'm going to list out my problem, to make it faster to understand.1] My domain name is registered with a company, X.2] My webhosting is hosted by another company, Y.3] My web developer, Mr. Z is trying to do his bit and upload my website. Here's what happens:Mr. Z tells me that he's not able to upload my website and is getting the error "Connection timed out" and "Could not connect to server" on his FileZilla or something. He also tells me that there is a problem with my domain registry. Now, Company Y tells me that the domain name's A-records has to be pointed to the correct IP address [which is, of course, the webhosting IP I bought.]Company X tells me to login to my account and add an A-record pointing it to the correct IP address. I did that. But still Mr. Z tells me he's getting the same error and is not able to connect to the domain name. Now, when I ping my website on MS command prompt, I get a "Request timed out" error.

I've gone through a variety of diagnostics and I honestly don't know what to think. It's not my computer, as I can access the site on this computer on a different network. It's likely not the whole of my LAN network either, because my kindle can access the site through it. I can always access it on this computer with a proxy as well. I can ping it fine, and tracert it equally as well.I've tried everything from socket fixes, DNS flushes, getting new WAN IP addresses. When I got a new WAN IP address the first time the site was accessible once, and then it stopped again after that. I can't clone the MAC address from the router, because it doesn't allow it.

For some reason, there is a specific website that I cannot access. I am a member of the website and they have a community forum for contacting them and requesting support, but obviously I cannot contact them if I cannot access their site!
The website is [URL]. I read in another post that I should do the TRACERT command and post the results so I am doing that here.

I am unable to connect to facebook with any reliability. It will go to the site every once in a while but I would say a very small success rate.
I don't have this problem with any other website and my hosts file hasn't blocked facebook.
Also when I enter the url and press enter, it goes to a google search with a very long url, this doesn't happen with any other url.

I need opening up a particular website. The website name is [url].... Apparently, using various web based ping tools to ping the website doesn't work as they all get packet loss, so maybe the website is unpingable. However, upon using a proxy server or VPN, the website does open.
Here are the steps I've tried.Used a different OS (ubuntu)- didn't work.Tried on another system, different network, same ISP and it opened. It was an office connection.I did a traceroute on this and this stopped on the 3rd hop.Used various different DNS from google, to opendns, to my ISPs dns (airtel India).Tried different browsers, didn't work. My ISP gives out dynamic IPs. Is it possible to specify routing on this website through my router?
[code]....

I was working for our church edit some of its website files. Now I can't even see the website. We've tried on all 3 laptops in the house. We've bounced the router, rebooted all 3 laptops and nothing happens. The message we get is "Server not found, Firefox can't find the server at www.westpinesbaptist.com."The server IS up and running - other church members can not only see, but navigate through the website, including the most recent changes that were made. (Minor things, like formatting, spelling, wording etc.

I recently installed a First Alert Security System and assigned IP address to the DVR but within the DHCP (After reading many threads, I will asssign, ping and create a static IP outside of the DHCP, maybe this will resolve the issue). I am able to view the cameras on my iPhone and HP Laptop but only internally on my network. I am trying to port forward my DVR IP address to be able to view the cameras on a public website. Although I am going to chcek and see if assigning an IP to my DVR outside of the DHCP and hopefully this will be it, I am afraid that my CradelPoint CRT 500 Modem will not support it. I read on one thread that this is a common issue after you have exhausted all the options. How can I be sure that my modem supports that my router port forwards? I want to avoid configuring to run in bridged or pass-through mode.

So I have a really strange problem where I cannot access my credit union's website at all through any computer in my house. I've tried on 3 different laptops both Mac and PC, along with PC desktop and my iPhone. What's weird is that I can access the website on my iPhone if I turn off wifi and use 3G - no problems. But once I'm on the wireless network again it just loads for 20-30 seconds before saying it can't connect to the server. The URL is which I also checked on down for everyone or just me - the results came back immediately saying it's just me!t this point I literally have no idea what to do... tried resetting the router, logging into the admin via 192.168.1.1 and couldn't find any firewalls or blocked URLs. I'm fairly knowledgeable with computers and OS' but networking I'm no savant.

I can't get on it on my MacBook, or iPad but I can when I'm on 3G on my phone.

I have a Linksys E3000 and everything is working fine...until one day this last week. A website I go to all the time stopped working. The website is Martini in the Morning, url.... It's a great internet radio station. I listen to the station via other resources, but I can't get to the website which has lots of features I use.The specifics are that from any of the computers connected to our network, I can't reach the site. When I plug a computer directly into the Comcast modem, I can reach the site. I have changed nothing that I am conscious of and everything was working until Monday of this last week.I thought it wasn't making it out of the router, but a TRACERT shows that I am. I have a desktop running Vista, 2 laptops running XP Pro, an iPad and none of them can connect to that site. My iPhone can't connect when it's on the network, but when it's on 3G, it can. [code]

I just bought the new EA4500 router and I'm experiencing problems to access the my bank website [URL] I can't access this website.
I thought that the problem could be with Comcast, but I tested my Mac with a cable directly connected into the cable modem and it worked fine. I was able to access every site.
It could be a problem with browser security, but I even tested with different computers (Mac, PC's, Ipad, Smartphones) and none of them were able to access the [URL] wirelessly.
It seems something strange with the router. I tested some forum solutions (MUT, QoS) but they didn't work.

I am trying to access [URL] with a Linksys E3000 router. A few days ago it was working fine, and between then and now I made no changes to my network, it just stopped working one day, I assumed the website was down but it turns out that I am able to access the website fine on other networks or via proxies. I also hooked up my computer directly to my modem and I was able to connect to the website fine, but when I try my wired connection to the router I am unable to connect, I have tried Google DNS without success. I know this is a problem with my router, not my modem or computer or ISP.
