Cannot Connect To Master Download Server

i'm trying to download some poker software, in order to do this i'm supposed to grab small file from www and it has to connect with master server, get rest of the file and install it. on every platform i tried (titanpoker, everest, poker770, unibet) there's a message saying: cannot connect to master download server. either you internet connection is not functioning or the master download server is busy. i have turned off my antivirus and firewall (also windows firewall). my connection is ok, roommates have installed software easily+when i moved to another place still couldn't connect. ports seems to be blocked?

I am considering the e4200 Vs the Asus RT-N56U router -- if " download master" type of functionality possible with the e4200 ?(Its a little app that comes with the asus router that allows you to download files directly to the USB storage even after the computer is switched off)
Could I do something similar with the e4200 ?

I have a client who has the Asus NAS on their network with a 2TB hard drive in it. And what i would like to to as a backup solutikn for them, is log on to the ftp server on the NAS and then download all of their files on a daily basis.

I am sutdying at uni and in a few months, I will be moving into a house, with my current flatmates. We will be buying a fibre optic line.Ideally,what I want to do, is split the connections evenly,depending on how many people are online current, rather than having mass downloads of everyone at the same time, when other will only get a small speed while browsing or gaming,or streaming,etc.So, basically, what I want to do is split the connection at anyone time evenly,so if there are 5 people connected and our connection speed is 50MB then each will get 10MB. And if 2 people are connected, then the speed will be 25MB each, and so on.
I am wondering what is the cheapest way of doing this? I am very computer illerate,I know how to use unix systems.I even own my own server, but I'm not so clued up in this area of networking.I believe it's something to do with a switch, and which switches support this? (I've heard it's something to do with full-duplex / half duplex).
- I will probably set up a domain system, where everyone has to login to the main server to access the internet. (I know vaguely how to do that) - is there some software that I can put on the server which will distribute connection speeds automatically.

I was looking to setup a y configuration of routers with a modem going to master router, then from the mater router LAN ports to two other routers wan ports to give a guest and private network. I understand that this will all work fine for normal web surfing but can be very long winded when setting up port forwarding which i would need on the private network so I was wondering if I could get around this by setting up a DMZ on the master router for the private network router allowing all the port forwarding to be taken care of by just the one router. Would this work and would the two networks still be secure from one another.

I understand that most of the cisco switches does not have a battery-supported system clock. The better solution is to setup the NTP server and let the rest of the switches to synchnorise the clock with it. How about cisco switch 4948? Does it have a battery-supported system clock?If the cisco switch 4948 is the NTP master, how I am going to make sure that the clock will not be reset after reload?

I am experiecing issues with HSRP.I have two 7200 core routers connected via one portchannel layer 2 and i set up the HSRP.The switch 01 is the master and 02 is the bkp.the problem is, the bkp router can´t see the master and there are a lot of loggs with active-speak and can´t see the master. the configuration are ok, i just check and recheck but there are no mistakes. [code] the configurations are ok, but the router can´t see each other, just in the vlan 500 the other vlans are ok.

I know that in small networks, one of the computers is elected the Master Browser role, and elections are held every now and then. In domain networks that implement Active Directory, is there still a Master Browser role, or do the domain controllers take over this role?

We have a stack of a 3750E with a 3750X, when we turn off the master, a disconnection occurs for around one minute while only one request timeout is seen when the slave is turned off. Is this normal? Details: in other words, when the slave switch is elected as the new master all the port-channels and some physical ports become in 'down' state before reobtaining the up state again, this results in a one minute outage. The question is: is it normal to have a layer2 control traffic interruption when the master fails and re-election occurs and if yes, what is the normal downtime in seconds. the layer2 control information such as port-channels LACP protocol are not synchronised to all slave switches by the master?

About an hour ago I had the master switch on one of my 3750x (WS-C3750X-48PF-S) stacks crash. The only two items we've found that could have caused this issue are the roughly 1.3 million big buffer misses and several of the following in the syslog
SLT:WARN:No exporter configured for smartlog! I do not have smartlogging turned on, nor is there a netflow exporter configured
sh logging smartlogsmartlog is disabledsmartlog exporter:smartlog pkt length: 64 Total pkts processed: 0Total DHCP Snooping pkts processed: 0Total DAI pkts processed: 0Total IPSG pkts processed: 0Total ACL pkts processed: 0
I did not see any traffic spikes prior to the crash.
This stack has been stable since it's last IOS upgrade from 12.2(58)SE1 to 12.2(58)SE2 back in October 2011 so this has me a little worried.

I have EA4500 acting as a router on domainless all-Windows network of two XP machines.Unfortunately, EA4500 aggressively grabs the role of the Master Browser (I am talking about Computer Browser Service) on the network (regardless in which order you power the devices up) and then doesn't serve as a working Master Browser - both Windows machines stop listing the network computers in the "Network Neighborhood" and incur massive timeouts when attempting to view the listing.A quick look with 'browstat.exe status' reveals that indeed the router has announced itself as a Master Browser device, but returns errors when you query it.Quite predictably, without the router, both machinces figure out amongst each other who will be the Master Browser and everything works fine. The problems begin only when you add the router to the network.
1) Is there any way to make EA4500 work like a full-blown Master Browser (the one that not only announces itself, but also serves as such)? having a Master Browser integrated in "always-on" router would really improve the predictability of the network.
2) If not, is there any way to disable the Master Browser on EA4500? For now I managed to achieve that by assigning the router to different workgroup name, but this is lame, as I now can't connect a disk storage to the router and use it within the same workgroup.

Setting up NTP. Currently the source for NTP within our network is our core 6500.Currently the NTP source for the 6500 are internet based NTP Servers. I would like to configure the 6500 to respond to NTP messages as the NTP Master. However will the 6500's source remain as the internet based NTP Servers?? In other words if the 6500is configured to be NTP Master, where would it get it's time from?

I have two like switches in a stack (WS-C3750G-48PS 15.0(1)SE2 C3750-IPBASEK9-M). Switch#1 is the master and is the one that needs to be replaced. Can I force Switch #2 to be the master, then power down switch#1, remove switch#1, insert the replacement, and then power on the newly added switch without shutting down or rebooting switch#2?

We have 2 3750 24 port fiber switches in a stack and we would like to change the member to become the master. Both are running the same IOS and they are alive on the network. I read that you can change the who becomes the master by setting the priority number higher on the member, which we did. However this requires a reboot of the member to take effect. Is there a way to force this without having to reboot? One other note, both switches in stack have a single gig connection that goes to the core (6500). One gig link is blocked due to spanning-tree and this is on the member that we want to become the master.

I have a stack of 2960S (c2960s-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE2.bin) and the master has failed (used to have a priority of 14). The second switch has become master (priority 1) as can be seen below: [code]
If I connect a new blank 2960S (same IOS) through the stack ports, will the master sync its config to the new one without causing problems?As I understand the new blank switch will also have a priority of 1 and will by default be numbered as 1. I'm trying to do a Master reset on my Catalyst Express 500 (WS-CE500-24TT v01) and I'm having troubles with this. url...I do everything as it says, but when I plug the cable and I pull up the Web browser nothings appear, just the message that I don't have a Internet connection. The LED port on switch don't stop blinking as LED setup either. Is there another way to do the master reset?

Yesterday after downloading something my internet disconnected from my desktop. However, the internet works fine on any other computer in the house. I'm assuming it's some sort of virus or something...I ran McAfee and it found nothing. When I tried connecting yesterday, it gave me all kinds of different reasons why it wasn't connecting when I diagnosed it. Now however, when I try to connect to it, it says the network key is incorrect, which it isn't.

I get on-line, and the internet all-of-a sudden starts to show that I've downloaded my limit of 250MB. Now, I am on Hughesnet for internet service, can not get on DSL, wont happen already asked. Now, I am running a router, only way my wife and son can access the internet. They have laptops windows 7 and build-in Wireless Cards. I have a desktop windows 7. My updates are scheduled in the morning hours about 5AM so their is no reason for the computer to update. Same goes for my wife and son, their are set for early morning hours as well. I get an error message as soon as I click on my webpage that I want to browse, Internet Can Not Display The Webpage or something to that effect.

I have a Cisco E1000 wireless N router. It is working fine. I have just completed wiping my HD and reinstalling WinXP and other software. But I also need Cisco Connect. It appears the only way to get it installed is to run the Cisco Setup program. But since the router is working fine, I don't want to mess with the setup. Is there any way to get Cisco Connect by download? Or get it off my install CD without running the setup program?

We currently have as our stack master a 24 port Non-PoE that we want to replace with a 48 port Non-PoE. The 48 port switch at one time was provisioned as switch 3 in the stack (not the master). Correct me if I am wrong, but theoretically all I should need to do to get this working is to shut off the existing master so it re-elects a master and then provision the 48 port switch as the new switch one and make sure switch 1 has a high priority?
Do I need to write erase the switch that is replacing the current master first?

Few days ago I started to get the following error message while trying to connect to the internet using Chrome and IE:"Unable to connect to the proxy server..."I don't have a proxy server configured - nothing is checked in the LAN settings page.In Firefox I don't have that problem - it seems it gets the proxy configuration from elsewhere.
