Is there a way to change a 20 port to a 1.1 port, to establish a internet, DIALUP, connection with a Trendnet Model# TFM-561U fax modem? This computer is a new gateway 64Bit with windows 7 running IE9,(Gateway model# NV57H77u, 3GB DDR, 320GB HDD, all usb ports are 2.0, and wont recognise the modem for dialup. When I connected modem to my computer, 1.1 port, the dialup connection worked fine(but this computer is a 32BIT compac CQ-50 wm139 with widows 7 installed as upgrade running IE9, 2GB) I tryed to connect the compaq 2.0 port for connection and couldnt connect, the 2.0 ports recognise the device as a FAX unit and wont connect to the dialup it just gives me the dial sound and loud screech when num. is reached. I believe it has to be a 1.1 port to establish a connection because of the rate of transfer differance, between these two ports, dialup very slow.
I can SSH from the internet to my ASA on default port 22, directly to my public IP. I can SSH from the internet to my Cisco 1841 on port 2001. I can not however, SSH to my Cat 2960. From what i can tell, on the Cat2960 i can't change the default port 22 for SSH to different port, just like i did on the Cisco 1841. I looked to see if I can change the default port for SSH on he ASA, it does not look like this is an option.
The bottom line is that i want to be able to SSH to all three devices from the internet. I only have one public IP. As of now, what i can do is only SSH to the ASA on default port 22 directly to the public IP and Cisco 1841 on port 2001. It appears that changing the default SSH port on Cat 2960 is not an option. It also appears that I can't change the default SSH port on the ASA, if i could, i would and then i should be able to SSH to the Cat 2960 on port 22. No matter what i did on the ASA, it always listens on port 22 for SSH connections.

I connected my home laptop to the work network to download some (legal) software (by cable) but it didn't work. When I detached it the internet access to the desktop machine was not functioning. That was diagnosed as a problem with the I.P. address (presumably when i attached my laptop.) It was fixed over the phone through a START>RUN>CMd>config process. Now I find that my laptop won't connect to my NetGear home link (also cable) and wonder if the same problem might be happening, that connecting the laptop to the work network has scrambled it's recognition of the server or the I.P. address.I tried updating Kaspersky 2011 databases but it just keeps saying 'source not found'Another laptop using the same router connects perfectly each time.
I have been using the subject Wireless Router for more than 2 years. Most of the time it worked OK but lately it has been giving issues. [code] Due to a recent power outage, I had to reset the setting on the Dlink router. One of the issue is after resetting the Internet options and rebooting the router when I go back to the system screen, both the Release and Renew buttons are greyed out.I have tried to reboot the router as well as cable modem without any success. Purchased E2500 1 week ago. I do not have a problem communicating with the router itself (either hard wired or wireless) but I have been unable to establish a usable internet connection from the router.I live in building that is wired by Restech Services - Ethernet jack in wall - no modem. Connection works just fine if I bypass router and connect directly to PC (windows XP SP3 desktop or windows 7 laptop.),Very difficult to establish any internet connection at all. I have to renew IP address many times or go through re-boot sequence multiple times. Once I get a connection it is unusable. If I attempt to ping a URL (either from PC or from router admin page) it is unable to resolve host. If I ping an IP directly (either from PC or router administrator page) I typically get 60 to 80% packet loss. As noted, if I bypass router and make internet connection directly to PC - no problems - no packet loss.Used Cisco Connect software to set up. On advice of ISP changed MTU from 1500 to 1300. Also registered MAC id with ISP and changed from cloning PC MAC to using the router MAC. Downloaded and installed latest firmware version. Did factory reset and re-configured the whole thing. Double checked and swapped wiring.
I often have to change switch ports to different VLANs. Regardless of whether I find the ports myself or if someone tells me what the ports are, I'll always perform additional verification steps to make sure that the port I'm changing doesn't connect to a switch, a router, a server, or something else that's equally important. But mistakes happen, and I have accidentally changed the wrong port to a different VLAN, thereby disconnecting the end node.
Is there a way to configure a port so that it will not allow you to change its VLAN (or make any configuration changes to it)? I'm imaging a command that when applied to a port would not allow you to make config changes to the port until you remove that command from that port, at which point you'll be able to change its VLAN, shut it, etc. If there isn't such capability, what strategy do you use to minimize the possibility of accidentally changing trunks, routed ports, or important access ports to different VLANs (other than labeling and verify)?
I just purchased 2 SF-300 48 port units for 2 customers. I want to be able to remotely manage them over the Internet with my browser. BUT, customer sites already use port 80 for web servers. So, how do I configure this switch to use some other port than 80?
I called support, and much to my surprise he said it cannot be changed. How bizarre that a device with many hundreds of configuration settings does not have one of the most basic settings...
At one customer site I can configure port forwarding and translation to get around this problem, but the other site's router does not offer port translation..

I have several closets with Cisco 3560 on the edge that I'd like to change the vlan that's used for the management vlan on each. In the core I have a Cisco 6509 with Sup720's.
I'd like to do this by changing the native vlan on the trunk port on the core 6509 interface that connects to the 3560. and leave the management vlan on the 3560 as vlan 1.

I'm in the middle of a Nexus 5000 project and recognized today while configuring port-channels, that some of the interface numbers are reserved for internal use.
Is it possible to change or configure which port-channel interface numbers are allocated for internal use by NX-OS?

There is no "blinking light" indication on my E3000 at the Internet (Yellow label) and Ethernet port no 4. I tried plugging in 2 cables at all of the ports. I got the blinking indication at Port 1 through 3. The same cable's have no response at Port 4 and Internet port. As a result my I am not able to connect to the internet.
I am having an issue opening a port (4040) on the 655 for my Fedora-based subsonic server. Inside the LAN, I can see the device from other peer machines, so I am confident the port is open and listening. However, I can't seem to get to the machine-port from outside/internet.
I have tried Virtual Server and Port Forwarding with single port. The server has a stactic IP which I've included in the DHCP range and outside the range. I have a DSL connection (AT&T), modem only. I have updated firmware. I have exhausted the Subsonic community's knowledge, everything points to the router, but all the settings seem correct. What am I missing? Is if possible there is a defect in the router? (don't laugh). Is there a way to trace a request to that port to see where it is hanging?
I have a DSL-524B from D-Link. My problem is, whenever I Port Forward port 80 to my comp's IP to host a web server, all the other computers connected to the router are unable to access the Internet. So, I set up no-ip to use port 8080, but, this exposes my ip and even when masking, if you look at the HTML code, you get the ip.I need to know how to open up port 80 without restricting Internet access to only my comp, or any other work around.
I have a pc, which has broadband connection through Wired Modem. Is there any way to add any PCI/PCIe wireless card and use internet wirelessly in other devices like mobile phone and laptop. Still the connection from modem to pc will be wired and i don't want to go for a wireless modem option.
